Thank you for doing all the legwork and covering so much of what sounded like a great show. So many interesting new products out there and we’ve been making use of the Motorhome Matt Approved Service to find a company to do some work on our van, big thumbs up for MJB in South Bristol. Cheers Matt and Keith.
@@MotorhomeMatt definitely, Miles has been so helpful and we will be going back in a couple of weeks time for him to sort out the skylight but, first we need a new clutch so we can get there! We called into ”That Leisure Shop” yesterday (Saturday) as we needed some gas and the gentleman there was really helpful as always. It’s a great shop you have with so many excellent products and we must catch up with you in the very near future Plus of course that naughty Keith too or is it Kevin?
I’m sorry I missed you. I popped in first thing to help the guys get open and to oversee a test drive in a lovely Adria Sonic we have for sale. But dashed home for family lunch! Hope to see you next time
Great show Matt and thank you for it. It is good to hear of the British companies getting more involved with the industry as too often we are reliant on stuff coming from europe. Just a little example the Hartal door on ny Swift Bolero stopped working because of a tiny little broken spring in the mechanism. It cost me £35 for a replacement piece of sprung steel. I really think there should be opportunities there for UK manufacturers to step up to the mark and provide the products and the service to make the motorhome community happy.
Great point well made! I had to import a new entrance handle from Europe. A £15 part became £75! We have a lack of manufacturing in this country now which is sad. This is where the Chinese are really stepping up. A manufacturer from China had a stand at the show. Expect to see more in the future I suspect. Thanks for watching and commenting
I purchased Solbio Cassette Fluid, on Matts recommendation, for our new Motorhome. After three months of use I’ve had to give up on it, as the smell of the fluid was so overpowering using the recommended dosage. Even cutting the dosage down to half the chemical smell of the product was too much for my Wife and I, to the point that everything in the bathroom, towels, flannel etc, were tainted with the smell. Back to Elsan Green and all’s well in the bathroom again.
Your comment is interesting and confusing as there is no chemical in Solbio. It’s the smell of essential oil. Did you use just 40ml? People often complain the smell is weak so I suggest a drop of essential oil in the cassette. It may not be for everyone but it is kinder to the environment than blue or green alternatives. Thanks for watching and commenting
Another varied and informative vlog Matt.👍 Quick question, I’m trying Solbio cassette fluid (purchased from your stand at Malvern). My initial reaction is why is it contained in such vulnerable packaging? I’ve sat mine in a cut down 5lt container to avoid it being pierced due to movement in transit. Am I missing a “container for life” that it’s designed to be poured into?
It’s a great question and I get your point. The packaging is of course recyclable but a stronger dispenser would be sensible! I managed to rip a bag as it got caught under our levelling ramps in the garage. Garage now smells lovely! We do use small 120ml bottles for ease of use with a screw top.
The new Avtex AMR 105X, 5g WIFI 6 Mobile internet solution, ultrafast dual sim router, what is the price please and where should I go to get it fixed in my motorhome.
I’d check latest price online and get either your local dealer to confirm price to fit or check the Approved Workshop Scheme network of service centres and mobile engineers for a fitting price too.
For who where? At the show we will never know. I’ve often wondered how much £££ is churned at the show. I suspect down year on year as footfall was down but your guess is as good as mine
No issue with Ford supply but plenty of injector issues and wet belt changed from 10 year change down to 6 years after selling them with the 10yr life span. I will stick to my 180bhp auto Ducato thanks 👌🏽👍🏼😉
I chose not to challenge Ryan on this at the show as it’s a topic worthy of more of his time and an episode in itself. It’s also an issue well publicised and documented. We may revisit it in the future though. I’ve spent £1000’s on wet belt changes and injector removal. I’ve also spent £1000’s on Fiat EGR, DPF’s and turbos over the years. The joy of ownership! Thanks for commenting
@ you sound very unlucky. On my 3rd Ducato, a 2013 a 2020 and now a 2024 and honestly never had one issue. The motorhome forums are full of Ford Transit issues. Chausson owners on Facebook even have a sub group for Ford injector faults. 😉👌🏽
@@MotorhomeMatt Have to ask Matt, have you ever had a wet belt fail on any of your Ford Transit based motorhomes that you hire?, I'm not talking service intervals for replacement belts here rather complete failures with catastrophic consequences. I ask because I've never had a wet belt completely fail on any of my Transits. I'm of the opinion that most people who talk about wet belts on the internet have never owned a Ford Transit.
No never had one fail although the garage we use have had several in with ripped belts. New engine required. We are exercising caution around any Transit chassis and at 40,000 miles will get the belt done. This includes models we are selling at the moment.
I guess this is considered progress in technology. They do come with a remote and the option for smart phone use too. Have you seen or tried one? They are good!
Tried Solvio this summer. I saw it in a Moho shop in France. Following the destructions I was really disappointed. I was hoping for better. Chem’s all the way for me.
Interesting as our experience is polemic to yours. The key is to prep the cassette really well. Really rinse the cassette before first use. If the smell of ‘waste’ is too strong just add a drop of essential oil to the cassette. Game changer. Using Solbio means you’re not harming the environment in any way. Perhaps try again?
@ Ok I did rinse it a few times as per instructions. I was hoping for it to work as good as advertised on the well known channels. To start it was a really refreshing lovely smell(aroma) but 2 days in it didn’t mask the cassette. We tried again but🤷♂️ I wonder if the hot temperatures of July/August in France made a difference ?
For Solbio smells much nicer and more importantly, is totally safe for the environment. And will not harm any biologically living creature. That’s why I support it
@@MotorhomeMatt where dogs are concerned there seems not logic. NEC hosts Crufts after all. Likewise, 3 counties show ground allows dog at Motorhome events but not to other shows held there. Go figure 🤷♂️
That seems odd! I’d give them a call and ask why. Sometimes a quirk on your credit history can cause problems as the system kicks people out it seems! But do call them and let me know. I can forward a message too if it helps. Thanks for watching and commenting
We had an Airide rear air suspension system fitted on our Motorhome in May this year by Gary's team. Great people, and a great system. Very pleased !
Brilliant! Thanks for commenting. I love adjusting ours to level the van or to change the feel due to potholes etc!

Thanks Matt! I might have a favourite segment in this episode... obviously not bias at all 🙂.
You be biased that’s ok! Great insight into the product and thanks again for letting me feature it. It’s a worthy highlight of the show! Thanks again
Another great podcast. Thank you for telling me what I didn't get time to see at the show 😅
Great to see you there albeit briefly! A busy week for you!
@MotorhomeMatt it is for everyone but things maybe different for me at the next show!

Or you could just use something like Elsan organic. Not sure why you are pushing it so much?

If the NCC allowed dogs into the show they would have a bigger audience. 🤷♂️
Probably true
It’s likely to be a venue decision though in collaboration with the organiser NCC Events
