Wow, totally blown away by the reception this has gotten so far, thanks everyone. Honestly I was only planning on making the one for Jin since I main him, similar to my Kazumi one for T7. I don't really like the idea of speaking on characters I don't actually play/understand to a certain level. But, it seems like there's demand for more guides, so I'm going to try drafting another one. It'll take a bit to put together since I work full time, but stay on the lookout for it. Again, thanks for all the comments, I really do appreciate it.
@@wildohhhhey bro thanks a lot for this. For what the comment said about showing the info on the screen, that was dope man thanks, hopefully we see a couple more😂👊🏾 🐐
This is the EXACT format of guide I was looking for, direct and simple, covering almost all the main options, breaking them down so it doesn't get overwhelming information-wise for a beginner like me, as Tekken tends to be because there's just so much lol. Great job!
Barebones video (concise with no fluff) but really high quality. You've made this really accessible for beginners who may be unfamiliar with fighting game naming conventions. Crazy how helpful those images of the inputs are, even if you are familiar with them. You're the only Tekken RUclipsr I've seen do this. Great work.
Bro you really made the best beginer guide ever explaining, the gameplan, pressure, mixup, core attacks and combos in under 4 minutes. Only thing to mention is jin hell sweep is a bit off in the notation. you gotta hold DF during the crouch dash and 4,2.
great vid,i understand how some characters need 30 mins to explain everything but the fact that u had this much helpful info in less than 4 mins is crazy
Bro is a lifesaver, i was trying for hours to understand his moveset but this was the easiest and most informative quick guide ive watched that has worked for me, I appreciate it my man.
Though I was mocking the accent for fun, I actually really dig the voice and it kept me hooked. Awesome quick overall guide. Crazy how much info is thrown in here fluidly and though ofc it's fast for the complexity of the character, I can't see how someone can't pause and take in the info, rewatch, slowly apply the moves till they don't need this video anymore.
What a fantastic video, hope you do more for other characters. This was probably one of the best and most concise character guides I've seen, hats off to you mate.
This is a great guide for beginners (like me) - you listed some of his best moves - just enough for us to start with but also some more advanced ones to strive for. Your guide was not too overwhelming with information. Thanks so much!
Very clear, straight to the point. Respects peoples times without absurd youtuber padding. 10/10 looking forward to more of these especially for characters I don't play.
This is honestly the best guide I’ve seen for tekken. I haven’t ever really put time into tekken until 8 and this is EXACTLY what I want. Just show me what’s good and show me a game plan and I’m happy. I don’t wanna watch a 30+ minute guide on a character I MIGHT like. But I completely get why those guides exist and I appreciate them. I just wish more like this existed.
dude i hope you doing great and be doing greater thank you so much this is literally the best, short, no bs guide with everything you need to know for new players like me keep those ranks high!
This is great, im new to Tekken and settled on Jin as he feels pretty intuitive and beginner friendly, have been winging my own combos now and this video has helped me learn new sequences to add to my "homebrew" strings, thank you!
I spend 8 hours learning reina move set only to be slapped by the reality that you can only play campaign as jin, so here i am watching this video. Thanks man you are a life saver
0:42 for those that cant hit the follow-up, it's because B3 for some reason has a different hitbox if you hold F while doing the move. So hit B3 then imediately hold foward.
I can’t seem to follow up and do back 3 0:48. I turn on counter hit on practise mode but I can’t get to the opponent quick enough to follow up with back 3
You can sort of "buffer" the dash whilst you're recovering from f4, it's more like a run up. You have more time to hit the b3 than you think. Also b3 into hold forward for Zen hits more consistent than just b3, assuming you aren't already doing that.
Great guide! i know Jin's moveset pretty well, but it never ocurred to me to press 4 just one time after Omen (instead of the typical 4,4) to launch a full combo afterwards. Brilliant.
The flow of the video was excellent! Describing the move input as you demonstrate its effectiveness. I can't stand when someone talks too much while explaining a characters move list🙄...You did a great job!
I thought "coming from other fighting games, i know itll be hard but i need a video for jin that showcases all of his bread and butter whilst also going into depth about everything else when im ready" thought that would be too much to ask for in a short time span. Then i found this video
While I appreciate that this is very well structured and presented, as a new player I find myself hoping that just a little more time was spent going over each move, especially the important ones. Even though I've been watching tekken content non-stop for the last 2 weeks, the 1-4 notation still makes moves hard to remember if just glanced over. Thanks for the great vid!
So it's difficult to enforce "true" frame traps in Tekken cause of so many defensive options like movement, powercrush etc. But standing 4 can be useful after moves like db4 on hit and electric on block. If it it counter hits, you can get a guaranteed 1+2 Heat engager or df1,4. 2,1 is also a good option after those since it's tough to step at that advantage. I could also see d2 on hit into ws4 or ws1,2 being a decent check.
@@dbz439 Honestly outside of db4 not really. Running 3 can be good, and also Zen 4 or Zen 3+4 but they can be risky. EWHF, d2 and db4 are the main go to's
Wow, this Video was insane! I've not seen any Tekken video with such compact informations. Really love the format. Any chance u could do Lars next, would really love to see a video about him❤
Just downloaded Tekken 8 because I saw it on sale and loved Tekken when I was younger (Tekken 5 was my last one but I never played it in any sort of competitive setting, mainly story or against my brother on the couch)... I really want to learn the game to compete online but damn, fighting games are hard :D I dont event understand half the things most guides are saying since I dont understand the jargon. Like plus on block or - frames or what not. Really a whole new world to discover. (I always played other games very competitevly but these were either FPS or RTS games.)
Btw. I just searched for guides after trying online matches, basically going in blind and damn, I cant even get my character to stand up again after getting launched. I took a hard beating hehe
Welcome! Yeah they're definitely a time sink, but incredibly rewarding. This guide covers a lot of starter Tekken concepts incredibly well, cannot recommend it enough: ruclips.net/video/wbFJMVk4nho/видео.html
2:23 can somebody explain how to Land the bf23 i mostly never land it or He just does a normale 2 jab. I think it has to Do with Button buffering but somehow my Timing is of after the first back 3 into Zen 1. Does anybody have a tip?
So if you make sure there's at least a moment of no direction input between the back and the forward, I also like to hold the forward whilst doing the 2,3 since you'll be holding it to go into Zen anyway. It helps to just practice that input on it's own in practice mode rather than the full combo, then adding it in when you're more comfortable.
This is great a vid, I was just looking a vid for Jin best way to play him Just a suggestion vid, would love to see how to fight other character using Jin or how to punish their attack with current Vid format
Good Video well done explaining what moves to used in certain conditions, Jin instanly become my main after i saw this. Also can i request Jun guide for next video simply for my brother cuz i beat the shizzle out of his Jun 🤣

Shot in the dark, but I'm having trouble landing B3>Zen>1,2 after the BnB combo shown in this video- the 2 almost always whiffs (I've landed it once, but have no idea what I did differently) Is there something I am missing that's causing the whiff?
Right after posting this, I figured it out lol If anyone else has that issue: You have to delay the B3 after the tornado till they're about to fall out. If you do it too early they'll be knocked too far back.
Cheers! You could do b3 hold forward into zen u1, should be pretty reliable and won't lose too much damage. I'd still recommend learning the bf2,3 route eventually, it'll get easier with practice.
Thank god i saw your video on my home page. Simple and easily understandable. My only issue with the video is not that big of a deal but crouch dash 4 1+2 is ch 4 2
