I was there! I saw this live! We were up and screaming through the whole set.Janis came on next, I am pretty sure, and then Sly and the Family Stone. This concert was like a religious experience, in the sense that it was absolutely transforming.
I love CCR. Is one of the best country rock bands in the world. John Fogerty had and still has a good voice. This is a classic. I was seven years old when I first listened to CCR, and I fell in love with their music.
believe it or not, CCR was the first band to sign up for woodstock. When it was first promoted, all the other bands were skeptical, and uninterested. Once CCR signed up, all the other acts followed suit. So technically if it were not for CCR, people like Hendrix, and the Who may have not played :o
Absolutely Priceless! John Fogerty at his Absolute Very Best! His voice is oh so unique. Every bar room cover band plays his songs, but I have nerver ever heard one yet that comes even close to the Master!!!
such an amazing bit of drmming, stu cook really takes this out, he is the star!!been watched a million times by me and others, never get tired of it, what an amazing skill with the drums.....
IMHO, John Fogerty would never need to worry about sound quality. He could sing while someone banged on rocks and still be one of the most amazing voices in the exalted pantheon of rock and roll singers. Thanks videojunkeez for the post!
Amazing! My Brother-in-law was there and said that they were the best band at the event. He said everybody woke up when CCR hit the stage. Now I can finally see and hear how good they really were at Woodstock. They were a great live band.
Creedence & John Fogerty were a great band live or in studio! I saw John on his Blue Moon Swamp Tour and he had everyone out of their seats and dancing! It was right after he finally decided to add his CCR songs in his concerts.
amazing band! I used to hate this music but my friend has listened to it his whole life so he spread the love and now i freaking love it too! Cant go wrong with a lil CCR ;)
The songs have stood the test of time and recorded by so many other artists. John is great songwriter. Each song has a unique guitar part and vocal parts. He puts a lot into a live performance.. J Young
John Fogerty rocks my world. He has so much talent. My aunt got me tickets to see him for my birhday, and I saw him on Wednesday in Minneapolis, MN. It was one long term goals that happened to be fulfilled. I was so pleased to be in his presence. KEEP ROCKIN' FOGERTY!! You are amazing!
Es posible que muchos muramos de ancianos, pero esta música nos mantiene con energía. Por eso esos temas nunca dejarán de ser escuchados y disfrutados por alguien...
Thank you for posting this rare video and providing some historic background on the concert. This is insane that we are able to watch this LIVE performance so many many years later! UNREAL!
WOW!! Absolutely KICK ASS performance by CCR. John Fogerty is gifted for sure with that unmistakable voice! Thank you for posting this!! This truly is a classic!
The sound is ragged but the soul is truly intact. Love to see John and Neil Young on stage at the same time doing some of their tunes. It would be AWESOME. John, like the Beach Boys, is the more real American rock I can think of. You hear it and you know where it's coming from. Great post videojunkeez! Got this with the new Woodstock DVD set, lots of good stuff on it. Worth getting. And if you want to "see" Woodstock get Bob Spitz's book, Barefoot in Babylon.
This music is a legend, the CCR were/are a legend, all the music are fantastc, I'm Brazilian and I start like CCR when I was 4 years old. Creedence Clearwater Revival, you're in my Rock 'n' Roll legends list. Thanks for everything.
This should have been included in the original package!! Fantastic!! Its' the raw stuff -the raw sound quality, that makes live performances great!! And this is great!! Thank U for posting this !!
We do. You just listened to it. : ) Oh, I know what you meant, DJ. And, I surely concur. But, my guess is that music needs to simply roll on and evolve same as everything else in this life. I was born in '59, so I had the good fortune to have some of the greatest music ever recorded as the soundtrack to my glorious childhood. : )
Weldon you did a marvelous job in capturing the history of that Renaissance period of WOODSTOCK....where all the great musicians and singers took Rock music and fused it with other Styles of Music and there Music became Electrified......and Timeless....for generations to enjoy....Mr Thomas i have sung these songs at their beginning when i first started singing in my first band in 1968 til present....in 71 my band Cold Duck were 17yr old seniors in High School; we were chosen to open for SANTANA
This is the best version I have heard of this song live. The sound is great, don't know what John was disappointed about, they smoke in this. I Love John but even he cannot sing it like this anymore. Awesome voice then. This is a great video, Thanks for making it available!
Just finished watching every recorded moment on RUclips from The original Woodstock of 69 and without a doubt Creedence clearwater revival is the best performance! m
I'm 68 now and was on the Isle Of wight when all this was taking off,( I worked at the Hendrix Festival) I am from Liverpool and I love the Beatles but these guys were something special, Raw and immediate in your face and ear, I thank you videojunkeez for this great vid made me very happy.
I remember hearing them as as kid in the late 60's, always knew they had that killer sound, it wasnt till I went off to War that, i picked up a copy of thier music. Fan for life! Thanks for posting this awesome vid!!
Este es uno de los grandes momentos de Woodstock, superando a muchas bandas que aparecen en la pelicula de difusión y estando a la altura de Santana o Ten Years After. No todos se enteraron que habían participado en este histórico festival. Grandiosa banda fueron!!!
Many thank's for publishing, very appreciated ! Jacques de Montréal Québec, 63 of age, at the time, I was young (21 years old ) . I was lucky enough to drive a Renault 10 ( a small french car from France ) equipped with a good radio, to listen good music from CHOM FM in Montréal, and CCR, as many others at the time.
I understand why John was concerned about the poor sound quality, but he may not have quite realized the powerful appeal of his voice. It's so special that it transcends the sound quality. It really could "put a spell on you." And the sound that this group put out was so strong that the technical deficiency is easily ignored. This band is one of the greatest rock bands ever. They never got their full due but their music will still be appreciated ages from now.
What a great video. This is a serious gem of rock and roll history. Seriously, thank you so much for uploading this. I am a huge fan and this is as close as I'll ever get to being there. Fogerty and company are still a force to be reckoned with. Peace.
Was searching for "Looking Out My Back Door" and found the MOTHER LODE here!! Awesome collection buddy!! I was 11 in 1969 and remember seeing Woodstock in the theater. It was a life defining moment in time. Good stuff.
I don't think Fogerty gets enough credit. I mean ... sure ... he's world famous and all that ... But I mean as a performer. In every live video I've seen of him, he is always ROCK SOLID on both vocals and guitar. And this video is no exception. He just kills it like it's nothing.
Yo Man! Thanks for this post. I'm always glad to see the rare footage. I was happy that they actually included some "uninterrupted" footage in the recent dvd release. I love the movie, but I love these songs presented in their entirety even more. Keep on rockin'!!!
John's vocals are flawless..I can't imagine why he doesn't like this performance. Oddly "Born on the Bayou" is one of their enduring signature hits. Great video! Thanks sooo much!
I met this guy, JR, through a mutual friend. We were discussing 60s music, and, of course, Woodstock came up in the conversation. Turns out he ATTENDED this incredible event. Sorta blew my mind. He shared with me that he'd taken a hit or two of acid a couple of hours prior to this performance, 'round midnight. So, at the time CCR opened their set with this song, he was flying. He said, "Maaaaaan, I ain't NEVER come down from that shit."
First heard CCR at Woodstock. I didn't realize it was 3 in the morning until I read the notes above. I was thrilled. I love and have always loved rock boogie. What they would call trance now. Long rythmic throwdowns. I don't know how it is that CCR gained the rep as a mindless biker and beer type music. They are the closest approximation to a White Pow-Wow Spiritual trance music as the Doors or Hendrix or Ten Years After. And Fogerty is a real poet. Ever seen the Rain! Green River! ManPower.
I can't for the life of me figure out why Fogerty wouldn't have released this for so long...this is almost better than the album verion. This is pure gold.
I can only share your sentiment. In the early 1970 I was also singing that song with my band in the former East Germany (Berlin) Still get the same goose bums.
I was there, for real. Probably asleep at 3 a.m. way up the hill, as I don't recall Creedence singing at all, but was up at sunrise for Grace Slick and Jefferson Airplane, singing "Don't You Want Somebody to Love." It was altogether awesome. There WAS mud, but it was splendid.
Well I don't care about the bad sound quality. Its all about that great Feeling,Song, Band and the voice of Fogerty, nothing else! Live long and prosper cheerz Doc
This is an awesome perform as always and live wow amazing. I grow up with their music and of course back then I have no idea what they singing about as my English was 0 yeap folks cero but I leraned now I also sing their music and I'm based my career in Kitchener, Ontario. Canada.
Thanks for this post! Great sound for being "the real deal"! Can you just imagine Fogerty not wanting this footage to be shown? It's great, thanks again! Peace! xxx
To Mary - a truly friend and one in many source of inspiration amongst others that helped me to power music as a truly peace of mind during and after conturbate USA war years in Vietnam. ⚘
I grew up on the the music of Woodstock and CCR, so this really is a treat! Born On The Bayou was the first album I bought by saving up my weekly allowance when I was about 8 years old the year it was released......thanks a million for the upload!
Never, never get weary of listening to it - each time is like the first time I ever heard it...."I wish I was on the bayou, rolling with some cajun queen".......
Saw the Woodstock documentary & regretted this band's performance was not included. I really appreciate you posting it to give me an idea of how they looked & sounded during this once-in-a-lifetime event. And this is one of my favorite CCR songs! Thank you very much!

being there had to be something out of this world
I've been there and you can remember their show? I thought all the people were stoned there.
Jack Twist lucky dog
Jack Twist. i was there also ✌
@@Climbinguponthehill lol. But a good banger like this is enough to sober everybody up. 😉
Mr. Fogerty you was a real amazing voice, at that time and now you get a powerful voice like always you have!
I love CCR. Is one of the best country rock bands in the world. John Fogerty had and still has a good voice. This is a classic. I was seven years old when I first listened to CCR, and I fell in love with their music.

Lucky are those who are children of the Woostock Era and grew up with it.
amazing band! I used to hate this music but my friend has listened to it his whole life so he spread the love and now i freaking love it too! Cant go wrong with a lil CCR ;)
thank you whoever recorded, kept, and uploaded this.
this is a part of classic American rock history
Amazing !
Changed from Right Handed Playing to Left Hand Playing without missing a Beat !!
Legends!!!!!!
Woodstock! There will never be another experience like it - EVER! The same can be said about CCR!
I could listen to Creedence Clearwater Revival all day.
John Fogerty can really belt it out.
Seeing him next weekend at the Santa Fe Opera House.
Such a great hi-pitched voice back then!

classic CCR. thanks for the posting what a classic performance

perhaps one of the better bands of the 60's. definately under-rated

Love it man. From an old Aussie. 11yrs old then and listening to some great music. Memories from years ago.
I was 18 at that moment, now 72 and I still love this song and the atmosphere of the end of sixties.
Thank you for this! What a jewel....this is music history....
In my opinion maybe the quality is rough, but it is so raw and gritty it makes it amazing! I want this version on CD

CCR
Me and 3 friends went from Syracuse NY. didn't know what to expect. Nut this is probably why I think CCR is my favorite band
Great, classic 41-year-old rock 'n' roll from John Fogerty--who rocks just as good today, by the way
This is the best version I have heard of this song live. The sound is great, don't know what John was disappointed about, they smoke in this.

c'est tout simplement sublime, car de nos jours, avec les boites à rythme et les disc-jockey,on n'arrive plus à distinguer les instruments.
I was young when CCR was singing. I had their first record album. If u liked CCR u were one of the cool kids.
to have a big sister that bought and played all their records was cool for me!
She recommended me this, its a very good enjoyable song, i think its one of her favorites

I went to Woodstock with 3 friend's, thanks for the memories
This is the first time that I've seen this one! That was a long time ago! I lived near Woodstock, but sadly, I was in L.A. California at the time! :-(
Look at Fogerty just sing that song! how Much expression! God wish we had Classic rock still goin today!
