  • Both young and old alike love Thomas the Tank Engine. Come along and watch his journey on the rail lines of the Strasburg Rail Road as we also watch an alfalfa field be cut on an Amish farm with horse power.

Yes, I love the smell that fresh cut hay and there’s nothing like at night time with your windows open and you’re laying in the bed and can smell it ray. Oh my gosh, you could sleep like a newborn baby is so wonderful. I miss it so much I was born and raised on the farm and I loved every minute of it and I miss it so much.

How ingenious, behind the trailer mower there is a crimper that crimps(squeezes) the swath cut in the round before, which furthers more rapid evaporation of moisture in the alfalfa. The motorized mower also powers the crimper. The mules walk briskly, aided by the motor, but it's s till quite some work, especially since that is a big field.

The railroad doesn’t have a turntable.
