- Come along and watch an Amish Couple with help from a relative build their first electric high tensile wire fence on their homestead. Setting the posts, making H braces, stringing and tensioning the wire, placing insulators, and attaching the wire to the posts are covered in the video.
Nicely done
Awesome, Myself fence 7 ,Cattle,Calf,👏👏👏 Thank You! ( N.G. Indiana)
Good video! It shows how "clean" the electric fence can be installed without those yellow plastic insulators I've used on my horse fencing. I can see the animal can graze as close to the posts rather than a few inch gap between the post and insulators, leaving roughly a foot of grass that you have to weed trim. Do the Amish use weed trimmers along the fence lines? I know it can cause a short unless they have those that would shock weeds off from the wires.
Great video. Why are the two middle wires not hot and top and bottom are…. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed weekend!!
The top wire is for horses and the bottom for lambs. They may energize all if needed.
@@LancoAmish thank you. Appreciate you getting back with me.
It's called a high tension electric fence.
No, I have it correct. If you watched, thank you. If you didn’t and only commented, thank you anyhow.
That lady needs a proper hat. The back of her neck is getting burnt. I have a large straw hat that I love for working outside.
You won’t see many Amish women wearing hats unfortunately.
