These Great Teachers and Civilizers "The Vibal Magus and Brother Ali" need to make that much needed album together to continue to help save our beloved Divine Culture...Peace.
Ahhhhh !!! VanGlorious !!! Much Love To Brother Jay & Brother @Ali. I Appreciate This Intelligent Build. Brother Jay, I Thank You For The Profound Effect You Have On Me Since I Was 15 Years Of Age. Your Music & Melodic Flow & Positive Spirit Helped Keep Me On The Straight Path. I'll Always Treasure The Free Concert Y'all Threw At Boys & Girls High School Fall Of 1990. Y'all Rocked The House Of Thousands Of Teenagers & Adults In The Heart Of Bed Study With Peace & Love. The Vibrational Frequencies Of Everyone In Attendance Was Blissful. No Violence Whatsoever. Shortly After, Within Several Months Hip Hop Was Weaponized & Infiltrated. We Saw An Influx Of Gangster Rap & The Rapids Decline Of Our Natural Hip Hop Diminish From The Airwaves. I Love You Brother Jay. I Named My Daughter Isis. She's 14. I Also Treasure Seeing You In Harlem At The African American Day Parade In September Of 1990. You Were Walking Pass The Adam Clayton Powell State Building . I Was So Excited, I Ran Up To You & You Gave Me A Hug. That Was All I Needed. I'm Forever Grateful. It's Refreshing To Hear True Conisussuers Of Hip Hop Speak About It because Y'all Were Here To Experience Hip Hop Prior To Its Weaponization Peace, Love, & Divine Light. Medina Salaam ❤🙏🏿
Brother J is one of the world's best educated sources on almost all the world's major ancient religions. He's a true student of ancient history and thought. He's a mystical man upon a magical mountain,; Down with great Thoth creating verbs like a fountain.
Was not aware the Great Bro Ali had a podcast. Talking about a breath of fresh air. Two incredible conversationalist. Brother J one of the great voices/lyricist the game has ever known and Brother Ali , the MC’s MC. Gotta love and appreciate conversations such as this. Not a single cuss word just grown men being grown men. 🫡
Such great interview and conversation. A few questions I had were answered. His lyricism and imagery directly influenced my way of presentation for self. We first saw X CLAN in 90-91 at Xavier University in New Orleans. This verbalizing Blackwatch Movement was real.
Beautiful podcast. It would’ve been great to bridge the gap to how they paved the way for folks like “Dead Prez” Sticman & M1 are definitely an extension of Brother J.
Brother Ali 🎉!!! Such a good one to watch and listen too! “The unsaid speaks in a different way” …. Ooooeeee Hearing that this week was the second time about hearing the silence, somebody told me about reading between the lines… Okay, and please tell me why did I get so hype from your pep talk. Literally not even similar or relatable experience but when he was speaking at the end. I was so uplifted and it wasn’t for me 😂 Can I get an Elder Uncle PLEASE 😭❤❤❤
Thank you both, would have loved to hear a bit more about the Dark Sun Riders period as that project didn't get enough love. And the 'come back' period kick-started by 'Weapon X'. PS thank you for the new vinyl received this week, a beautiful release on all fronts.
My Blackness is deep. My Science is deep. "How deep?" ..Deep. Deeper than Atlantis. It's always been one of my greatest wishinest wishes to meet the great Brother J, before my demise..
I love their rhetorical density, much like that of George Clinton & Parliament / Funkadelic. We all were under the impression that their Afrocentric persona was authentic, until they were exposed as being married to white women. 😮 After that, the DJ’s 🛑 playing their records. They were untouchable on wax. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I did not enjoy this episode. Why would anyone try to emulate slavery and call himself the overseeer? Third bass isn't anywhere near my favorite groups, but their music gave people joy, plus MF Doom. Isn't it what music is about? There is room for different styles of hiphop. Also, how about the child rape charges against X-clan?
What Brother J was saying was 3rd Bass was wasting an opportunity to bring quality while maintaining the spot they occupied. He was saying for 3rd Bass to step their game up and not being goofy and buffoonish, especially coming out of Latin Quarters. As for the allegations, you can listen to Lord Jamar's podcast where Brother J addresses that situation.
