The acting in this scene was on another level, she brought a whole other level of empathy to Norma I hadn’t seen in the role before. And having her deliver “I’m ready for my close up” facing AWAY FROM THE AUDIENCE and walk upstage!!!!!!! So amazing
i KNEW she'd be amazeballs.....and she WAS....best part of the show.....Travelling to WDC....(what was that guitar??) but it was pared down but SHE WAS BIGGER AND BETTER - a GREAT RETURN............ (she LOATHES the term.. a 'come back")
She turns away from the audience and starts walking away. I’m sure people who don’t know the show, but know that is the final line in the movie, assumed that was the end and applauded. I saw her twice and I can’t tell you how amazing her interpretation was. Stunning, really.
