I bought the A9+ a few days ago, no complaints at all, it's a big improvement on my A8 which I bought just 7 months ago. It's snappy, and has a really good screen. For me the price v performance is better than merely good. Used for light gaming, browsing, RUclips etc. Only drawback, but not a big deal for me, is the time it takes to charge. Great tablet for not much money at all, and it upgraded to Android 14 with One UI 6.1 without issue . I'm very very happy with it.
I really like the slightly slower, (Not just spamming specs the whole time) more laid back review, very informative still but a more friendly type review rather than just sounding like another ad for the devices. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great job 👍👍
How well does a budget tablet work for most things? I’m an iOS guy with both an iPhone and iPad, but having an android tablet on the side wouldn’t be too bad!
a budget tablet like the A9 or a9 plus are good for most things except if you wanna play games with them then you should lower the graphics and the res if possible
I wanted the tab a9 because my tab s7 fe was so uncomfortable to hold. I didn't want to get the tab a9+ because I didn't want to run into the same problem. The cover for the tab s7fe also has no side protection. I'm happy with the tab a9 it doesn't hurt as much if I drop it on my face😂
I've got the A9 Plus, and I use it for newspaper reading, browsing, email, some light games...the specs are ok for me. The 2 negatives are the position of the headphone jack at the bottom edge and the slow charging time.
I bought tab s9 & returned in the same day because of it's gigantic 11 inch size & took regular A9. Samsung should seriously think about a premium spec within 8-9 inch. 10-11 inch is huge, we need tablet, not a TV screen on my lap, so that we can read books while lying on bed or couch. For bigger screen we got plenty of others devices. Come on Samsung, bring us iPad mini alternative in Android platform. Tab S10 mini will do fine.
Great review, but in the end you're only advice is: Do you want it big and with a better camera? Take the plus, do you want it small and with a strange placed, lesser placed camera, take the normal. But when you have made a decision about size and camera, there comes the next one: 64 gb/4 gb ram or 128/64 gb ram. For me: I would say 64 gb/4gb. I don't use a tablet that often, but I want to stream something and read something like a comic or a book. Just like my phone (although it has better specs and is older), but with a larger screen.
Great video and good explanation of everything I’m buying the a9+ tomorrow as I’ve been deciding all day and your video sir has cemented my Choice u earned a sub and a like love from Ireland 🇮🇪♥️
On the A9+, did you notice any kind of ghosting effect when swiping? On mine, the icons and widgets on the home screens "smear" when swiping left or right to move between screens and recover when movement stops. It's really annoying and I don't know if it's "normal behavior" or it is somehow defective. (Refresh is set to adaptive, but it does the same when fixed to 60hz)
I'm near Toronto and just ordered the 8" base model from Amazon. I couldn't find the 8gb/128gb model anywhere though, I would have went for that instead.
I got A9 and S9+, A9 is cheap, small and i don't worry about taking it with me on public transport to watch or read. S9+ stays at home or in my backpack for when i need to draw or take notes. Tab 9FE is a more premium A9 with a pen.

I have the tab S9+, which I'm mostly used for reading and sometimes college work, but it's a pain to carry around :( You should totally do a video on the best small Samsung tablets for reading 😊
Hey Ivan, great review. I do a great amount of travel and am done carrying around my Lenovo laptop. I really want to move to a tablet for client zoom calls, to update my website and to blog from. Suggestions please.
I bought the Tab A9 LTE. It is easier to read manga there than on my phone. LOL. Samsung should release a Tab S9 mini, just my two cents. 8 inch tablet is under rated.
I've got the A9 this January and im quite happy with it. Its only weak point for me is the screen resolution, but i don't care much. I also own a 5.9 inch phone (Galaxy A40), which I gotta repace soon, but nowadays phones are quite large (6.5-6.7 inch). So my doubt is: does it make sense to have such a large phone and the A9? I got the A9 coz I wanted a portable tablet, but I think that I may end up doing with my large phone much of what I'm currently doint with my A9 (reading news, magazines, streaming...)
@crestafan3703 Hi! I'm not a heavy user, I use the tablet mainly for reading, browsing the Internet and streaming. Every day I may use it about 1-2 h. The last time I charged it was 3 days ago and it's still above 60%. Compared to my previous S6 Lite, I noticed that the battery of the A9 lasts a bit longer.
I am thinking about the a9 as a replacement for my phone, I don't know if you would think this it would be a good idea or not. My present phone is an a52.
Use tablet as your home device and when you go outside of home take phone with you in pocket Btw a52 has still 2 to 3 years of software update so still very usable
Only if you use headphones for calls, otherwise calls on a tablet always play sound through the loudspeaker, everyone nearby will be able to hear your conversation.
Looking for a tablet for reading books mainly, holding a device that's comfortable in hand and won't smash my face if it slips, but aling side I'm concerned of the performance and value for money. Would a9 be a better choice for me ?
I want the A9 size, but sadly Samsung only offers it with the 4/64 variant in my country and I've tried one at one of their stores side by side with the A9+ (only 8/128 variant is available) and the A9's 4gb of ram only made me sad with how much it lagged as it shuffles its own stock apps in and out of ram. The size of the A9 works for me as I want a tablet a bit bigger than a phone (at least 8in), but not too big I need 2 hands to hold it like the 11in ones such as the A9+ and S9 FE. The processors Helio G99 and Snapdragon 695 is not that far from each other and I already use a Helio G99 on my Galaxy A15 and its fine since I have the 8gb variant. Price wise on sale from Samsung the A9 Wi-Fi (4/64) is around 99 USD while the A9+ Wi-Fi (8/128) is around 157 USD and I lean towards the A9+ since it performs a lot better with the 8gb ram. I've tried the S9 FE at the Samsung store and its quite nice and a big step up, but I can't afford that. The A9+ is the one within my budget that I'm fine spending. I know there's other brands of tablets that can fit what I want for cheaper or about the same price, but I have more issues with them (mostly software related but some hardware reliability) and Samsung and their OneUI is the least terrible for me.
Well, I love the A9. It stays beside my bed. It is perfect considering size and weight, so I can hold it with one hand. I had a Tab S2 with 7" in the past, and finally, I found a substitute! Happy !! Alberto
Go for a9+ but it doesn't have palm rejection that's why i didn't choose A series cause I'm looking for a tab with large display and palm rejection. If you're the one who takes digital notes you should go for tab which has palm rejection like samsung s7fe s9 s7 I'm planning to get s7fe next month.
Samsung needs to make a S series 8.7 inch tablet. the last 8 inch Samsung S series tablet was the Tab S2 8.0 which in my opinion was one of the best tablets to compete with iPad Mini at the time.
I'm buying the A9 128GB LTE version purely for portability. I don't know why the 8" tablet doesn't have 5G which would have made it even better. I still have a Tab S7 but it's very heavy, too big, and not very good for using on public transport and aeroplanes.
Great video as always, Ivan. Does anyone know if when using the Samsung wearable app and Galaxy Buds Pro, Buds Live or Buds 2 earbuds you can use 360 Audio with the 9 Plus? I know it works on the S6 Lite.
My Tab 9 Plus did not come with a 120V wall plug in adaptor as shown in this video. The cable came with USB Type C at both ends, so required to get an adaptor from Type C to USB for plug into an older style power supply that would only accept USB. Looks like various A9 Plus packages are different, hopefully just the cables but you never know.
Another reminder that yes the A9+ does have the 90hz adaptive refresh rate which means it going to switch between 90 & 60hz as needed, just set it to 60hz and you will get better performance overall
I recently got an S9 FE but wanted something smaller and the new IPad Mini was so disappointing that I just got an A9. I did have to go outside the US for a 128Gb/8Gb.
Hello friend, i buyed the a9 for the portability but the tft screen is crap, but for use for RUclips, read pdf and normal use is great, i like the battery duration.
Have u used any fast chargers long use on Samsung tabs I'm just wondering how they stand up as fast charging is bad for batterys I here just upgrading from an old Samsung tab to a Tab s9fe and the picture was quailty was alot better than I thort it would be I here it can take over 5 hours to charge in normal mode which is more than my old tablet so am abit dissappointed about that it's alright buying fast chargers but if the destroy the batterys what's the point
Yes I use nothing but 45W fast chargers on all of my devices; I have set them to stop charging at 85%, and I make sure not to charge or put my devices in situations when it's too hot. Fast chargers manufacturing companies claim that they don't do damage to devices, but it's one of those things you have to take with a grain of salt, and manage your devices the best you can.
I want this a9 tab because it’s cheap but I’m trying to think which one is better the a9 or a9+ like generally? I stay at home most of the time but if I go out the @9+ win’s be that good so I need help😅
I need a tablet for my 17' bowrider boat for using Navionics. My iPhone 14 is too small to read as I navigate. Plus sun makes map following nearly impossible on small screen. Dash space is limited; I'm looking for input: a9 would fit best, but if a9+ performance is better I could make that work. Do both have the same processor? Does each model have the 4gb/64 and 8gb/128 option? Which is faster and what would you recommend? I've searched everywhere with these questions and can't find good advice. Thanks!
Seems both have the 4gb/8gb option but I haven't seen the 8gb smaller one. The plus one has better resolution so it may help you when looking/reading at your map but check the dimensions first to see if it fits on your dash space. The smaller one is certainly bigger than an Iphone though and might be enough for you. They have different processor, the big one's is faster but the small one's is not that far behind. If you have the space go for the bigger one.
😅, nah fam, it's nothing like that; I may not be a fan of it, but there are many people who find great value in it. Portability alone is major, for many people.
Ive needed an ereader for a while but in my country the cheapest is $800-1000, amazon kobo and the rest basically doesn't exist here. So for my use case im thinking of getting the a9 as its portable and its available in the 8gb/128gb variant.
i simply am considering a tablet for reading ebooks or watching a movie on for ex amazon prime or maybe netflix in bed. I have no electronics in the bedroom the cell phone is a bit too small but still doable. So I was thinking maybe a tablet would work best. I will not go Kindle bc I live in Canada so getting library books do not work on a kindle here. Where a tablet I could just dl kindle and kobo apps to read from either platform as well as libby for the library. I just am unsure what tablet is best. I do have a desktop computer and I do not use my phone for anything but calls and text messages most of the time. (read a few library books with it and watched the odd show but that is rare) What is the lifespan for a tablet to do just that with? Camera lol I rarely use the camera on my phone, so the camera means little to me, I do not plan on conference calls or anything like that.
I bought a smaller one 9A for my 9 yo son. He needs to have a super strong bulky cover, so a bigger tablet was getting heavy huge with an armor. It's a great portable tablet, even with big cover. It was dropped already a couple of times without any issues, thanks to the cover. It gives good enough experience, good for playing minecraft by smaller hands, and very nice sound. I wanted to buy a bigger one for myself, but I'll probably save for never Macbook Air, because I can still travel with it. I have a phone with 6,5' screen as well. Thinking about buying some cheaper tablet for reading, like xiaomi

Is it worth it to upgrade to a tab a9 plus?
I have the tab a8
YES
@@amiryt1897 short answer but thanks.
Do you own the tablet or do you now someone who own a a9+.
I'm just wondering
@@IvanKam11how did you change it to 85% doesn't Samsung limit it to 80% when you are protecting your battery?
What car game is that @ 5.53?
I want this a9 tab because it’s cheap but I’m trying to think which one is better the a9 or a9+ like generally? I stay at home most of the time but if I go out the @9+ win’s be that good so I need help😅
If you wanna work with it get a s6 lite for the stylus but if you want it as a RUclips Netflix thing then get 9plus
So nicely presented. Thank you. Zar
A portabilidade do A9 é incrível mas os recursos do A9+ audio, display, DEX e processador estão a um passo a frente. Comprei o A9+
What’s better for just watching movies and playing games?
Wish they launch Tri-Fold that opens up into Tab A9 size (8.7inch) 👍🏻
I'm offended, as I watch this on my Tab A7 Lite😂😂😂😂
😅, nah fam, it's nothing like that; I may not be a fan of it, but there are many people who find great value in it. Portability alone is major, for many people.
@@IvanKam11 no worries, I'm just cheap, but I definitely value your input!
Same😭
Lennovo y700 is also in 8inch form, a bit more money (cheaper than s9fe) but pack ultra specs 12/512 with snapdragon +
name of game on the Tab a9 please
Ive needed an ereader for a while but in my country the cheapest is $800-1000, amazon kobo and the rest basically doesn't exist here. So for my use case im thinking of getting the a9 as its portable and its available in the 8gb/128gb variant.
I'm looking to replace my Samsung Tab E Nook. Want to be able to upload different reading apps.
i simply am considering a tablet for reading ebooks or watching a movie on for ex amazon prime or maybe netflix in bed.
Which one for a 7 years old child?
A9 or A9+?
Either one would, even cheaper options available for a 7 year old 😂
I went for the base since it fits my bag
I'm looking for a portable tablet (8-9 inches), wifi AND cellular capable with at least 64gb ?
Watch the video again and pay attention this time......
@@JM-mr6pz instead of trying to insult someone on somebody else's video, maybe you should unscramble your last two brain cells and read my statement and pay attention to the video yourself!
I torn between A9, A9+ or the Oppo pad Neo.... Hmmm... 🤔
Hi i have already a 9+ and I use it everyday on my desktop but when I'm chilling on a couch or bed it's too big and heavy maybe a tab a9 to add will be great ist too small thank you
Personally the small one is much better for me.
Over anything (except performance) i value ease of typing and handling.
great tablet, however the charging port went out in 5 months. Never left my desk, only charged when 20-80 when needed.
What game was that with the car being chased by police?
Anyone know that game that he was playing where he was running from the cops?
Best comparison ever
Perfect review
I wish we could do gaming on a9 here
