@Donald Williams I believe interceptions were looked upon a little differently back then, but Brett Favre's total of 21 is high for any era (Marc bulger's 22 is also too high). Peyton Manning sliced his total in half from the previous year (often overlooked, but I felt Manning struggled in 2002, along with his 19 interceptions. Marvin Harrison's 143-catch season kind of let him off the hook a bit) and had a low INT percentage, but surprisingly that season he would have games in which he had no TD passes; kind of odd for a co-MVP (I think that award should've solely been McNair's; other than Derrick Mason, who really was very good, he made the players on his offense look better than they were). @@fredleeland2464 exactly...the only one that gets a pass for the Eagles is T.O. He came back in only 8 weeks after a broken leg and was the only reason the Eagles had a shot to win.
@@fredleeland2464 2 of the 3 picks he threw in that game cost that team a win. Watching it in real time, I thought he threw up because he had been running for his life because Richard Seymour and them boys was on his ass the entire game. But to hear that he was puking cause he was out the night before... I can't think of a bigger indictment of his lack of preparedness for that game. McNabb cost them the win against the Patriots. They were in field goal range when he threw the first pick. He could have threw it out of the end zone, to save the 3 points. The second one was also a poor decision. The game was basically over when he threw the last one. He also missed a WIDE OPEN TO on what would have been the go ahead touchdown. Ultimately the situation with Owens was an organizational failure of the highest order.
@@fredleeland2464 because he was terrible before that, the Patriots came out and played their worst half of the year and all McNabb could manage, despite living in plus territory, was a 7-7 tie. There was a particularly egregious sequence where his red zone pick was nullified by a penalty but then he threw another pick at the goal line on the very next play. In the second half he had one really nice drive before the patriots pass rush started getting to him and by the time of the dry heaving he was pretty shot. TO meanwhile was still fresh despite his broken leg, which is why he was so pissed, and in fact on the drive before that, TO had made a long catch-and-run into Patriots territory but on the very next snap McNabb threw one of the worst picks I’ve ever seen
Man just calls it the real, This is why Philly loved T.O. & still to this day this breaks our hearts man. I never forgave that walrus Lurie or Mchicken. He masked alot of Donovans flaws as a QB. And yea, HOF vs not HOF kinda ends that debate right.

I side with T.O with this situation. McNabb is one of the main reasons why T.O got the negative publicity. And I think McNabb was jealous that in spite of their loss to New England, T.O was praised for playing on a broken leg. That has been the long rumor that McNabb was jealous of T.O being more embraced in Philly than he ever was.
TO started all of this saying how he would rather play with Brett Farve over McNabb then blamed McNabb for his contract situation in Philadelphia. McNabb even took blame for the superbowl loss so I don't get why TO is bringing all this up. All TO does is point fingers. He blamed everyone but himself. The guy is a hall of famer and he still throws shots at former players and coaches all the time. The media didn't tarnish TO's image. T.O. could play for everyone thinkin the same. Thing is he would have to get back into football shape. It would probably take a year and you know he ain't getting any younger. But there are not receivers in the game like him anymore. Closest would be julio Jones in my opinion of course.
You dont reach T.O status without putting in a massive amount of work. Respect. Ego can be your best friend, or it can be the enemy. Everything in balance. When working with others the ego has to take a back seat.
You know the worst part about this is that all T.O. is saying is that he wanted to be appreciated for all the hard work he had put in. He knew he talked a big game, but he also knew that he did it because he felt like he had to have that spark in himself to do so. Never count out the best leader with a great team surrounding him.
I’ve lived in Philly and have been a diehard Eagles fan since I learned what football was. Donovan McNabb was a really good quarterback (outside of the NFC championship game and Super Bowl) and the vast majority of Eagles fans truly appreciate everything he did for our favorite team. That said, we don’t really fw McNabb off the field. We don’t like him much. He was always passive aggressive and would never accept blame for failure without throwing shade on other people. He would also use his and the Eagles success as a platform to complain about the fans. He complained about a few dozen drunk morons booing him at the draft for his ENTIRE TENURE in Philadelphia. He was also extremely envious of any other player who Eagles fans loved. ESPECIALLY if they were on offense. Every Eagles fan absolutely loved Terrell Owens. LOVED him. He was the best receiver we’d ever had and was obviously the missing piece to finally get the Eagles past the NFC championship game after losing there in 3 straight seasons. He was all about telling the other teams he can’t be stopped and that they sucked. He was one of those semi-rare players who was just perfect for the insanity of playing a professional sport in Philadelphia. McNabb was jealous of the love and adoration that T.O. was getting literally from the first play of the first preseason game. Love and adoration that McNabb never got despite being the quarterback who lead the Eagles to 4 straight division titles, 5 straight playoff appearances, and 4 straight NFC championship game appearances. He thought that attention should’ve been on him. That he was the most important player on the team. Honestly, he WAS the most important player. He WAS the quarterback who lead the Eagles on their most successful run they’ve ever had. But like I said, we didn’t like him very much. For the reasons I stated and because, well, we just didn’t like him. He never got us and we never fully embraced him. It was a business relationship. One that failed to achieve the ultimate goal. T.O. was someone we would’ve gone to war with and made sure he stayed in our area for the rest of his life like so many other former Philadelphia athletes. He absolutely DID understand us and we absolutely embraced him 100 percent and from day one. Most of us are STILL angry they refused to pay him what he was worth and ruined his time as an Eagle. In 22 games as an Eagle he racked up 2,085 receiving yards and 20 touchdown catches. The Eagles won 17 of those 22 games. Terrell Owens could’ve been one of the best Eagles ever. A lot of people here will always think it’s McNabb’s fault he wasn’t.
I once read that Shanahan met with McNabb upon arrival in DC. He'd watched a lot of tape on McNabb and had pinpointed why he felt Andy Reid had moved on from him. He gave McNabb things to work on before coming into training camp. Shanahan said, not only did he not work on improving, he had digressed. It wasn't the Eagles that duped us, it was McNabb. T.O. was right; McNabb couldn't beat Rex Grossman for the starting job in Washington. To put a cherry on top; no other teams were interested in McNabb after his poor showing in DC.
It’s like that thing with an Ex..you’re not really thinking about it anymore but you gotta whole lot to say if it gets brought up. It ended bad and the run was great. Most people have dealt with breakup and can relate this to that. Both parties know it coulda worked but the pettiness won’t allow it

Thanks for this episode guys!!! This has been the best production to help me understand T.O. as the most misunderstood person during that time with the eagles!
WTF is McNabb talking about🤨... they showed him throwing up during the game...TWICE!!!
Thing I don't get is why mcnabb throwing up is always the scapegoat for why they lost and why LJ Smith and others dropping the ball isn't
AND IN SLOW-MO LOL
McNabb is known for throwing up in the huddle it wasn’t just in the super bowl
T.O not lying at all
Goddamn they still talking bout this! I believe t.o. Tho, all Donovan’s I’ve met in life have been corny
Lol That last part I gotta agree on.

Man just calls it the real, This is why Philly loved T.O. & still to this day this breaks our hearts man. I never forgave that walrus Lurie or Mchicken. He masked alot of Donovans flaws as a QB. And yea, HOF vs not HOF kinda ends that debate right.
As a bucs fan i dont have a dog in this fight but ive always loved T.O top 5 receiver all time

The Rex Grossman statement was...DAMN 😂
I side with T.O with this situation. McNabb is one of the main reasons why T.O got the negative publicity. And I think McNabb was jealous that in spite of their loss to New England, T.O was praised for playing on a broken leg. That has been the long rumor that McNabb was jealous of T.O being more embraced in Philly than he ever was.
We still love TO here too.
McNabb is one of the reasons. And then there is Romo, Garcia and others. The man takes conflict with him everywhere he goes.
TO tarnished his own saying his qbs were gay, saying he rather play for the backup qb or a qb from another team.
@@MikeBNumba6 Exactly, it's always everyone else's fault but TO's. That man has had zero personal growth since he was in his early 20s. The man is an absolute baller, but a highly flawed individual

nah. being in good shape doesnt mean you can run and take a hit. this whole comment section is full of out of shape people that TO could beat, but he cant beat those young guys in the NFL
His preseaon for Seattle says otherwise
@@brettt141 T.O. is in incredible shape especially the fact that he's 48 years old. I even had to mention it also, its very impressive regardless of the shape anyone is in. In 2017 the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL wanted to sign him but they couldn't agree on the financial terms of the contract.
I happen to agree with you, even tho his conditioning is unreal at his age, his body won't be able to keep up with the pace of the game nor is his body built (or anyone's at his age) for being hit the same way he was back in the 2011-2012 seasons.
@@brettt141 you know EVERYONE in the comments. Like we ain’t in shape. Just slobs.. right, maybe you guy.

At 4:30, McNabb not only had conditioning issues. He’s had two DUIs in his history. He rightly went to jail for that.
If only he was punished for not appreciating TO.
Honestly I feel TO is more genuine, I believe his side of the story more, Mcnabb seems like he stunting and creating lies after lies
T.O
Is top 5 at his position
No debate or argument!
Straight up!
Top 3. He’s not #3 neither
If we talking straight numbers he’s second only to Jerry Rice. Impact he and Moss can be a toss up.
This makes me sad hearing this because as a little kid I had a McNabb and a Owens jersey. Maybe I'm glad I was naïve to it all when it was happening.

You dont reach T.O status without putting in a massive amount of work. Respect. Ego can be your best friend, or it can be the enemy. Everything in balance. When working with others the ego has to take a back seat.
Terrell Owen's can still play now
Definitely
You know the worst part about this is that all T.O. is saying is that he wanted to be appreciated for all the hard work he had put in. He knew he talked a big game, but he also knew that he did it because he felt like he had to have that spark in himself to do so. Never count out the best leader with a great team surrounding him.
You can tell Donovan is a liar 🤥 😂

Fun fact I live in the town where T.O did his drive way press conference. They lived directly across from eachother
Finally
I once read that Shanahan met with McNabb upon arrival in DC. He'd watched a lot of tape on McNabb and had pinpointed why he felt Andy Reid had moved on from him. He gave McNabb things to work on before coming into training camp. Shanahan said, not only did he not work on improving, he had digressed. It wasn't the Eagles that duped us, it was McNabb. T.O. was right; McNabb couldn't beat Rex Grossman for the starting job in Washington. To put a cherry on top; no other teams were interested in McNabb after his poor showing in DC.
Damn he looks like he could still play...
