You pronounce "could" longer than "pudding". What about a 3rd [u] sound in influence? How to know what words with oo to pronounce like "boot" and what words like "book" if they both are spelled the same?

Do you have online course ?
Thank you. No, I don't have a course now. Sorry.
Great 🤗
Thanks.
Thanks a lot. Do suit and soup sound a bit shorter than the rest or is only me?
Hi. I think you are right. They sound shorter in this video, but maybe it's because I stretched out the vowels in the other words. I hope wasn't confusing.
how to know when which one i have to use .................
Is there a rule when to use one or the other or just have to memorize 5:23 stamp to practice the first u is super easy but the second one ... aaaaahhh thanks a lot
I'm sorry to say that I think you just have to memorize.
@@Coopos I stamped it to practice. I come here a few times a day to practice and practice. Now, I will write them down. I´ve searched tons of videos about this U , but your video was perfection. Do you have a lesson for when s sounds like z. I´ve recently discovered that difference but don´t know when to apply it.

thank you so much by your videos,it has helped me out a lot,now I'm a little confused between shot u and shwa ,there is a difference???
Hi. Short u is usually transcribed as /ʌ /. Schwa is the unstressed version of /ʌ /. So, yes, you can say unstressed short u and schwa are the same sound.
I'm sorry for my late response.
thank you so much!
The best
Thank you!
We can just use the schwa
For long vowel sound we should keep u: e.g..shoe
Different symbols for the same sound. :)
shoe in British transcription = ʃuː american transcription= ʃu
Dear Denise,
Thank you for the video. But I have question:
To me, the words "food" and "two" sound a bit different. In the word "food" I hear the "OO" sound but in the word "TWO" a hear the "EW" like t-ew.
So my question is: do the "OO" and "EW" actually sound different?? And I heard some people say f-ew-d
Thank you
Hi. Thanks for watching my video. The words "food" and "two" have the same vowel sound. It is OO as you write or /u/ as in my video or /u:/ as in some dictionaries. There are different symbols, but the sounds are the same.
To answer your question, "ew" sounds the same in some words and different in some words. "New" and "dew" both have /u/ or /u:/ which is the sound in "food." But the word "few" has /ju/ or /ju:/. So it depends on the word. Also, British and American pronunciation can be different. For example, British pronunciation of "new" is /nju/. I hope that helps.
Could you please elevate the volumen? I can´t hear very well. Thanks.
I'm sorry about the volume. I will try to make it louder in future videos.
Excelent
Thanks.
thnx
You're welcome.
Hi, teacher. In the word courier, short u sounds like schwa sound.Could you tell me What's the difference between the schwa sound and short u sound?
Short u is usually transcribed as /ʌ /. Schwa is the unstressed version of /ʌ /. So, you can say unstressed short u and schwa are the same sound.
@@Coopos Thanks so much!🌹🌹🌹

DEAR TEACHER..." OO" IS BETWEEN 2 CONSONANTS BUT PRONOUNCED DIFERENTLY...HOW TO KNOW TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE. PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME. THANK YOU.
Hi. Thanks for watching my video. I don't know any rules to predict the pronunciation of 'oo.' I think you need to memorize the sound of each word. Sorry!
I find it difficult to imitate the /ʊ/ sound because you pronounce it short and softly.
Could you make a video and repeat it a few times and a bit louder?
Yes, I will try to do this. Here it is. ruclips.net/video/z0E7YVsLRPM/видео.html
why foot and food have a different sound and phonetic
I don't know why. Sorry.

The only way to learn english is to memorise the pronunciation of words.
Why is boot pronunciation different than foot, took, book, good pronunciation? 🤔
That's a good question.
Rather basic, is this for new imigrants?
Thank you so much
