    Thanks for making it very clear whether the speakers are stereo or mono. Not many reviewers bother with this anymore.

    • @kevindoherty2716
      @kevindoherty2716 9 месяцев назад +1

      I wouldn't be concerned about these speakers being stereo or mono because those advertised stereo sound mono regardless as the two drivers are to close to hear any stereo separation.. If you want stereo with these little units purchase 2 with a connect feature and combine them to here real stereo seperation.

  • @VeitLehmann
    @VeitLehmann Год назад +9

    Really insane! The EarFun sounds so much more natural than the JBL, even at high volumes! Even the treble is more clear, even and airy, despite the full-range speakers and missing tweeter in comparison.

    This comment is for people who get the speaker in the future. Check which firmware version it has by pressing the BT & power button and a voice should tell you.
    041 to 048 have Oluv's tuning. Anything below does not and you will have to manually update the firmware. This happened with units released Jun '22. Ones released a few months later should already have it
    They have released a new version 050 with more bass. This version was released by Earfun without informing Oluv and isn't balanced like the earlier ones. It was released because some people wanted more bass and did not like his flat tuning.

    • @android584
      @android584 Год назад +1

      That's good to know but disappointing if considering purchasing one from the Earfun website. Surely those would be 050.
      The Olav tuning would be a marketing gimmick if they don't actually use his tuning.

    UBoom L sound signature falls apart at higher volume. The bass drops out and it gets brighter. Not a good speaker if you want to listen at higher volume levels. Charge 5 is a superior all around speaker.

    • @pickyaudio
      @pickyaudio  Год назад +4

      Any speaker at this size does this. They don’t have enough power/speaker size to push out bass at higher volumes. But yes the charge 5 performs better at higher volumes when it comes to bass

He's the only review channel on youtube that actually lets you (sort of) listen to the product before you buy it with direct back and forth comparisons. He definitely has strong opinions but for good reason, a lot of overhyped tech is sold at twice the price it should these days when proper tuning on cheaper equipment can sound just as good if not better.
