what about a 'popeye' doyle in New York chasing up the French Connection to heroin trafficking in the 1970s? that would be the big case he just can't crack but it could be open world... maybe not.
This game was fucking great to me. So great, it's my favorite game of all time. Love the 40 settings, great story, the open world has a lot of great details, nice classic cars.. and so on.
***** Yeah, people have reason to complain about the ending... BUT.... It's totally based off of the film noire genre. *****SPOILERS AHEAD***** See, it's basically required of the genre to have an unhappy ending, Honestly, I loved it, I think it perfectly summed up everything the game was about, and it fit perfectly with the overall tone. It absolutely was not a happy ending, and it probably could have done with a bit more closure, but it really did fit with the game itself in every way. The fact that Phelps died is probably the best that you could have asked for, anyways. What were you expecting, for him to get back together with his wife and live happily ever after? Just doesn't always work that way, and while this was quite cynical of the game to end as it did, it was first and foremost the perfect summation of the film noire genre, as well as a great bookend to an awesome game when you realize that it kind of was happy, in its own sad way.
***** I will never understand your thought process. The ending was the only fun part of the game. The whole game was super repetitive, all you did was the same b.s. investigate and interrogate and once in a blue moon you had any action. At least at the end you got to use your gun for once.
***** Already did it one, gotta throw my two cents in one more time... Just to touch on that Red Dead Redemption, the ending to it was absolutely perfect, beyond the "staying true to the genre" which it did do. I said before that as a standard ending, LA Noire isn't the best, but stays true to the genre. That aside, Red Dead was absolutely perfect in and of itself, genre be damned. That ending was spectacular, and there's so much symbolism and subtext beyond the obvious that I strongly encourage you to look into. As for seeing Roy go unpunished, that's sorta the point. When, in real life, was the last time that you saw someone like him get truly punished? He had power and money; those two things will buy you basically anything in real life, and he was easily able to manipulate his way out of trouble. That's how the world works more often than not. Sure, it's great when the bad guy gets punished, but it just doesn't happen. The Noire genre was meant to reflect America's disillusionment in the Modernist era (look it up if you're not familiar), and part of that is realizing that the world ain't fair. Good guys die and bad guys win in reality, and that's what they had to show in this game to stay true to the genre. If you still hate the ending after that, take this away from my rant: You gotta at least recognize the writers for what they did, it takes balls to give an ending that may not be well received, knowing that it wouldn't be ahead of time. They had to point out a fundamental flaw in human society; that being how bad guys really do prosper quite often, and doing the right thing will typically get you killed in situations like that.
***** Oh, sorry, and one last thing... Maybe the fact that you don't like the "hero dies" fashion, as you put it, or the fact that Roy goes unpunished. but perhaps that's the point? Let me ask you, do you have to agree with everything that happens with an ending for it to be objectively good? If everything had a perfect ending, then it wouldn't reflect reality at all, but besides that, what else would you have to think and talk about? We wouldn't have this conversation with a perfect ending, so it had to have succeeded on some level, right? Basically what I'm getting at is, do you have to "like" what happens for an ending to be good? I personally don't think so, and that's sort of the point.
DrBreezeAir Yeah, it really is. I think Joe didn't understand the ending. It showed that fighting corruption doesn't award you and is useless. You will most likely end up dead and the bad guys live on. When the lawyer ,who helped Jack, shaked Roy's hand...I was really pissed.
Can't really wonder, because this requires a lot more than using a good game engine. Bondi really took faces and bodies as passion because knew the game dies or lives because of it. The newest assassin's creeds and call of duties just don't think it's so important to have skilled people sitting in multimillion dollar face acting studio and I can agree. There aren't many games where faces are the gameplay, yeah there is little shooting and driving, but the only thing that matters "does s/he look guilty"
Even better that they're real actors. I couldn't place the actor of Hugo Moller, one of the suspects for his murdered wife, until I realised it was the guy who played the cop in Heroes

One of the most fun and original games i've ever played...the only visible bad thing - no replay value, but it just shows how good the story is. SPOILER I just couldn't replay it this year, even 3 years after first time, i just couldn't solve all those cases knowing the real truth, and arrest innocent guys.Just isn't the real feel as it was the first time, when i was actually lying in bed trying to fall asleep, thinking ''hmm who might be the killer'', night after night. I WANT SECOND PART, OR GAME LIKE THIS!
misteraxl1 I personally think it has replay value! I come back from school in winter break and I managed to play it through and enjoy it, mainly because I forgot some important details. To me, this game is kind of like an interesting TV show that I could watch again.

Just wait. Your favs become 10+ years old overnight...Shit Call of Duty Modern Warfare is reaching ten years old now. If that doesn't make you feel old....lol...but seriously LA Noire feels like it came out yesterday.
I'd rather have a sequel for this first before GTA 6 or the new RDR. Imagine LA Noire 2 with even more cases, plus all the improvements Joe mentioned! Instant GOTY! Make it happen, Rockstar.
TheRantMaster53 I think instead of LA Noire 2, they should call it NY Noire and push it into the 50s or even the 60s. Also, if they make the protagonist detective played by Jon Hamm, I would die happy. :)
BrendanStuart I loved Bully, but I am a real sucker for that retro 40s theme in L.A Noire, so I think I would rather have a sequel to that honestly. We'll see which one Rockstar will make first. They'll probably make Bully 2 anyway.
AlexSDU GameStop is offering a reward of 100,000 dollars, and if you trade in a new copy of No man's sky which came out a month ago and cost you 60 dollars, you can get a total of $2.50. What a deal!
+The-Infamous Unless it's from the same team it will be botched and some sort of underproduced cash grab. For example I've been waiting for a decent X-Com sequel for 20 years and it still hasn't happened. I wish people would just buy good games when they come out to keep good producers like this in business. But it usually doesn't take place when the marketing fails. Hype is all that matters apparently, and great games regularly go unnoticed. LA Noire is just the most recent example. Btw awesome review from Joe. He should have given it at least a 9 though. The negatives are so insignificant and the positives so overwhelming. I wish we could have more games like this. Detective sims can be so awesome, and especially when they're this well-made.
The ending was actually a bit sad because thats when Cole realized he was kind of a shitty guy the only thing i didnt like was that he cheated on his wife Throughout the whole game he was a man of morals, but just up and has an affair
Team Bondi had some bad connections with its employees with being underpaid, extreme crunch time for 3 whole years. But it's truly sad that we'll never get a new L.A Noire
this is still his best review of all time in my opinion, the skit were amazingly well done, (clever, funny & spot on) very entertaining review overall . this video right here is the definitive version of the ANGRY JOE SHOW ... PERIOD !!!
They can't because team bondi no longer exists that is why they haven't also they weren't gonna make la noire because bondi and rockstar had a bitter relationship
It's a damn shame that Bondi no longer exists because of the Australian government removing funding from some both progressive and bigger game developers, not believing that games can benefit Australia's economical future. Fuck me dead, dude. This was a fantastic game that definitely could grow from what we got, especially with the extra additional features like what you mentioned in this review; being able to wonder around and interact with the civilians directly in like a restaurant, or at the movies, a drive-in, or elsewhere. And of course sliding in more consequences for your actions to make the games overall achievements THAT much more rewarding :) However, because of Bondi being stripped of any funding, and Rockstar actually playing a very small roll in it's actual development, and rather more in it's distribution, etc, it's extremely unlikely that we'll ever see a sequel
Yes, they did fund Team Bondi for their next game "Whore of the Orient," but I didn't hear much about LA Noire. Team Bondi themselves were in development hell for 7 years, with a bunch of devs coming and going due to the mismanagement of the company and painful crunch hours. Not to mention the hundred employees that were left out of the credits and felt mistreated.
I would LOVE to see this game remastered. I know team bondi is no longer with us, but it would be awesome if Rockstar did a part 2 of LA Noire. everything about this game feels so good, the music they use, the moods they build, the character development, the cinematography ..... it's crazy how good this game is.
axe ram Yes! I got absolutely blown away by this, I played this game on a crappy PC a long time ago and, sometimes the facial animations would stutter and freeze during dialogue sequences, but when they unfreeze, they don't go out of sync, it's like the animations are "tied" to the audio.
This is one of my absolute favorite video game narratives because it NAILS the fucking time period, that inter-crossing world of returning veterans still transitioning mentally from the war into the civilian world saddled with the baggage from their previous lives. While society at-large deals with the unforeseen consequences of all the wartime production capacity in the form of contraband goods, surplus drugs and firearms smuggled in from the war.
L.A noire: best game I've ever played. Needs a sequel, possibly playing as Kelso or phelps' past partners later after the death of phelps. Or it is set in a completely different city. I don't care what it is I just want a new game
***** This game getting sequels would be far from a bad thing because we need more new and different kinds of games released and this should not be the only Detective game like this.
There I was, New World Anthropology/Archaeology 243 class, 8:45 pm, bored from a hour and 45 minutes of class, another hour and 15 minutes to go. My mind drifts to the case I am currently playing in L.A. Noire. I align the clues, piecing small stuff together one by one. I draw a pattern on my in-class video notes, linking people, places, times and objects, all leads pointing to the killer. I circle him in red several times. My professor tells us to hand in our notes to get credit. Without realizing I had no notes written out I hand it in. Once we have gone to break I realize I had handed in nothing but my L.A. Noire case notes. After the break my professor hands them back wit our scores on them. I get mine and see 20/20. How can this be!? There was nothing on the paper about Clovis culture arrowheads and obsidian tools but rather a web of case notes from L.A. Noire! I look on the back and see she had written, "Good job, you got the right guy. This case took me forever." I look up to see my elderly professor smiling at me. She winks and heads to her computer to enter the grades. BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!!!!
I pray this story is true. I've done my damndest to turn old timers that I know are into noir onto the game and it makes me happy to know there's a generation of people who have long derided video games that now may start to take them seriously. It's about damn time.
It really sucks that the team Bondy shutdown, they had a great franchise in their hands. Just imagine a open world like gta5 but set in the 40-50 with all type if side activities. Having players on line be cops/detectives and the others be criminals trying not to be cough, and doing crimes around the city.
1:39 - "It'll be the slammer for the both of ya, see? Reaahhh... Now get out of here, kid; I got things to do, cases to solve, see? Raaah. See, ahhhhh... Maaaahh. And if you knew what's good for ya, you'd stay away from that character, see? Meahhhh, m-... raaaah, see? ....... raaah."
kdog. If the development team didn't go bankrupt, do you think they'd have made a series out of this game? A franchise? I'd like to think so, but it's my understanding this wonderful game was horrendously expensive to make. :(
Aye, I would've bought like three copies of that game Just to increase the salestatistics a little bit more. Not even kidding. When I see passion-projects, I support the fuck out of'em with mucho gusto!
Yeoman86 Gaming I would pay 60 for a remaster. I never finished the game and would like to try again on PS4. I really enjoyed the challenge Noire presented as it forced you to think, evaluate, consider and reconsider, and the face feature system was excellent.
They did. You have many Hollywood landmarks, and the game exudes atmosphere, like Red Dead Redemption. The cars, clothes, mannerisms. It all fits together well.
CrunkKrow The game has a lot of focus on really small details. Tiny mundane objects that are there for flavor even if they don't serve the case. The cars even are accurately damaged by collisions and such. Like, if you get hit in the back right corner, the back right corner is dented exactly as it would be. I think there are even bullet scratches to the cars.
And red redemption is the second in the series so there can't be a red dead redemption 2 if there are two in the series. Currently we only know it as Red Dead 3
+Quillin IKR. Apparently la noire was supposed to be much larger. Upon entering the traffic desk they mention a robbery desk. Apparently that was part of the game but got cut due to budgeting. LA Noire best game of all time. We need another!!!!
+Quillin IKR. Apparently la noire was supposed to be much larger. Upon entering the traffic desk they mention a robbery desk. Apparently that was part of the game but got cut due to budgeting. LA Noire best game of all time. We need another!!!!
Yeah, there was 2 extra planned desks they were forced to cut.. Bunco (Fraud) and Burglary (Robbery).. Also Auto Theft would have been a part of the traffic desk... So yes, alot of the game was cut to form what we can play today... Cant wait to see what Team Bondai does with "Whore of the Orient".
I can't see this game taking place anywhere else but Los Angeles. Hollywood and this game go hand in hand. I hope LA Noire 2 stays in LA and jumps to the mid 50's around the time of Marilyn Monroe and other starlets of that time.
My biggest issue with LA Noire was the inability to fail a case. No matter how much you fuck up, the case continues on and you eventually get your man. It would have been great to see criminals getting innocent verdicts because you didn't collect enough evidence or been able to potentially arrest the wrong people. Instead the game holds your hand, giving you hints and allowing failure only through death.
I'm surprised he didn't mention the "black and white" option in the menus, making the game... well... black and white. But really, this game is truly amazing. I played it on the most difficult setting, with no hints or help, and loved the muffins out of it.
Joe made a great point about picking LIE vs DOUBT, so here's a good way to tell the difference and get it right all the time: Chose doubt when you know the person is lying, (because of a nervous tick, or not looking you in the eyes), but can't prove it. Choose lie when you know the person is lying, and you have evidence to PROVE it. Good luck, gumshoes!
Loved this game so much, sits in my top 5 of last gen. I disagree with your 'bursts' statement though, I played this game for hours and hours on end and it never got boring or repetitive.
This game is nothing short of GENIUS! This one of those MUST PLAY adventures no gamer should intentionally pass us. Probably the coolest features about this game are: 1) the open space environment, 2) authentic looking faces, motions, and physics, 3) the multiple outcomes with nearly every scene or sequence you play, and 4) very good story writing. The fact that authentic vintage landmarks were replicated in exquisite detail really adds to this genre piece in ways that make me yearn to have lived in LA back in the day.
This seems like the type of game that would have major stars, had Rockstar still cast triple A actors in their games, though the original actors for Cole and Jack remain. This is who I would have casted back then: Stefan Bekowski: Sam Rockwell Rusty Galloway: Michael Madsen Roy Earle: Chris Pine Herschel Biggs: Nick Nolte James Donnelly: Bryan Cranston (He still had short hair at the time) Gordon Leary: James Woods Archie Colmyer: Michael Keaton Leland Monroe: John Goodman Courtney Sheldon: Josh Hutcherson Harland Fontaine: Christopher Walken Curtis Benson: Dennis Quaid Ray Pinker: Tobey Maguire Malcolm Caruthers: James Rebhorn Elsa Lichtman: Diane Kruger
I like how you can select Lie and then take it back. "I think you butchered your husband, cut him up, and turned him into chili! You bitch!" "What? I would never! I loved my husband!" "My mistake. So tell me about this receipt for a washing machine."
Yeah, that's why I'm giving it a shot as well. I heard it was a pretty bad port, so hopefully I won't have any problems. Even if I do end up getting problems, 7.50 isn't hard to make up. Much better than the 30 dollar original price.
Why this game never got a follow up is just straight up lunacy to me! This was and still is one of the most original games ever made and still looks incredible today..It's mental Rockstar hasn't invested in a sequel. Just like AJ said, they could expand on so many investigation directions and side stories. The animation was and still is so unique. And it's f@cking 11 years old?!?!
The studio that made this shut down due to horrible workplace practices. This game was in development for such a long time that Rockstar spent too much money financing it, and it didn't make the profit they wanted. Hence, no sequel.
@@loganbigmoI think thats why they remasterd They could have remasterd Maxpayne 3 for PS4 Or GTA4, RDR may been tough to do as the source code was a mess. But i always found it stange they remasterd this and not their other games. They did a Rockstar collection For Games like Bully, Manhunt, Warriers, MidNightclub and table tennis. So the fact that they decided to only do LA Noire in this Seems like they were testing the waters.
Interesting, even though this is an old article, it looks like we might see something come of this soon since GTA5 is wrapped up. GTA online doesn't look like it's going to add heists before Watch Dogs comes out so hopefully that means that they're working on their next project and hopefully this is it.
When this game dropped i would literally smoke a blunt while listening to the main menu theme & feel like the coolest person in the world. I absolutely love this game.
How about LA Noire 2 With one of Phelp’s kids taking on his father’s footsteps and becoming a police officer sometime around the 60s or 70s/early 80s Edit: (This is what I think the game plot should be) It starts with Elsa giving birth to Cole’s kid. After learning about his father’s past, and wanting to follow in his footsteps, he joins the USMC in the late 60s and gets sent to Vietnam. He leaves in 1973 and gets criticized by the public for his service, however he continues his path as a Police Officer for the LAPD. During his time, he quickly gets used to the system and grows in the ranks. While not as meticulous and careful as his father, he still takes the job and law at heart and does his best. However, the LAPD along with LA itself is plagued by the counter-Culture movement, which involves heavy substance abuse. The department sees potential in the kid, so they promote him to Vice. It’s then he runs into Roy Earle, where he learns more of the bad side of his father from him. Near the end, corruption begins to grasp its ugly hands onto the department. It is then when Kelso and Stefan (Now retired from their jobs) start to assist the kid in bringing back order within the department. In the end, the kid ends up the same way as his father, he dies while trying to revive the truth in LA and the LAPD. The final cutscene is the kid’s headstone in the rain, next to his father’s... during the game (and just like in the first one) there’s cutscenes from the kid’s time in the military, he’s shown as more of a reckless patriot. However, he makes up for his recklessness with his intelligent mind. He carries this attitude over to the LAPD, but he tries to be more careful about what he does. This works in a way, however he does encounter unsolvable cases and ends up accusing the wrong suspect for the case. Cases that are included (In order) 1. Patrol (Includes a protest case which teaches hand to hand combat and the special tools for taking down suspects) [5 Cases] 2. Burglary [5 Cases] 3. Traffic [6 Cases] 4. Homicide [5 Cases] 5. Vice [8 Cases] The police story starts in 1973, and ends in 1974.
This is one of the best reviews for this game I've seen...One of the best reviews period. It's such a far and all inclusive review. The game is excellent, and Joe makes sure to set that tone. The part where he really shined was picking the game apart and finding the few justifiable flaws it had. Anyone can gripe about graphics or length, but Joe nails everything that could have been better or what the game was lacking in. Seriously, every negative (and I say negative loosely) the game had, he brought it up and scored appropriately. It's not easy to gush about a game and still come up with legitimate critiques without sounding nitpicky. Great job Joe (even though this is 5 years old now and is relatively irrelevant.. and my comment is a review of a review from someone with absolutely ZERO qualification to be judgemental)
I'm still so sad this game didn't make it. I loved it a lot. One of last games I ever played on console. It felt much like borderlands in sense that it's more like a tech demo and a core for something bigger. But team Bondi was brought down and to my knowledge this isn't getting any sequels. I was also blown away by the quality of voice acting and character animations. Especially facial animations. No game since has made them so precise and so lively. Or at least not any game I've seen, and I've seen quite many....
Yeah this game actually sold well but Team Bondi had spent ridiculous amounts of money into making this, Rockstar had to come in at the end and wrap things up with them. And this may get a successor but it will be made by Rockstar and I'm quite sure they won't let McNamara anywhere near it :D
I would love if Rockstar would do a sequel set in 1980's Miami
they did, it's called GTA Vice City...
Id like a part 2 set in new york
I would like them to do the 1930s New York, would be equally cool as LA Noire
And what? Call it Vice City Noire?
what about a 'popeye' doyle in New York chasing up the French Connection to heroin trafficking in the 1970s? that would be the big case he just can't crack but it could be open world... maybe not.

Mafia 2 was great. It just wasn't Mafia 1 great.
DrBreezeAir this is far from a masterpiece
DrBreezeAir it's not a masterpiece
The funny thing is that facial details from a game from 2011 puts games from 2017 and even games from 2018 to shame

Wait! I see another Angry Joe Review...I was showing this review to my sister.
KageTrauma Nice bait m8
Matt Green How was I supposed to know?!
Is it just me or does Joe really suit that old fashioned look?
Good old days
Oh my god, it's been almost 5 years since this game came out.
...I feel old.
ikr
Just wait. Your favs become 10+ years old overnight...Shit Call of Duty Modern Warfare is reaching ten years old now. If that doesn't make you feel old....lol...but seriously LA Noire feels like it came out yesterday.
+kirbystarwarrior And I still play my original copy I've had since it came out. It's still good.
+stripgaga hate the gameplay. but my god I enjoy driving around and going into the few shops for that detail.
*****
the gameplay isn't much different from a point a click or telltale style games now and i think it does that niche way better than they do.
I'd rather have a sequel for this first before GTA 6 or the new RDR. Imagine LA Noire 2 with even more cases, plus all the improvements Joe mentioned! Instant GOTY!
Make it happen, Rockstar.
I want a new manhunt as well
Damn Rockstar, why you leave us in the dirt?
TheRantMaster53 I think instead of LA Noire 2, they should call it NY Noire and push it into the 50s or even the 60s. Also, if they make the protagonist detective played by Jon Hamm, I would die happy. :)
i think, even before that, we should get a new Bully. of all the Rockstar games, Bully was the one with the most charm
BrendanStuart I loved Bully, but I am a real sucker for that retro 40s theme in L.A Noire, so I think I would rather have a sequel to that honestly. We'll see which one Rockstar will make first. They'll probably make Bully 2 anyway.
18:08 Rumor has it, Angry Joe still on the run from Detective Joe.
AlexSDU GameStop is offering a reward of 100,000 dollars, and if you trade in a new copy of No man's sky which came out a month ago and cost you 60 dollars, you can get a total of $2.50. What a deal!
we'll never have another LA Noire game.... :(
:( DONT SAY THAT. uhhhhh huh huh huh (that's me crying)
no more Team Bondi and the fact ti was so underrated , shame really.
+ThePoolofDeath there is a possible sequel in the works
+ThePoolofDeath what's even more sad is that they will never use that facial tech again
I'd kill for a another one of these games. Worth every penny.
Really? I respect your opinion, but I find that hard to believe. I found numerous things wrong with this game that just put me off in finishing it.
It's definitely not for everyone. I was a big fan of games like Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain so this was right up my alley.
Pat B
I really like it too.
Pat B such a shame they didn't make heavy rain for pc i would of brought it
Pat B I still need to complete Heavy rain. (PS3 version)
That ending. That fucking ending. Such a huge gut punch for an otherwise great and intriguing game.
Yah, but in a weird way, I liked the ending, it gave it that gritty tone, and life moves on.
The ending was actually a bit sad because thats when Cole realized he was kind of a shitty guy
the only thing i didnt like was that he cheated on his wife
Throughout the whole game he was a man of morals, but just up and has an affair
+Galacta1310 I think it was showing that even someone who is strong in their morals are still not perfect
What pissed me off the most about it was fucking Roy Earle. It's really seldom that I loathe scumbag made of pixels that much.
purpleprinc3 Me too I felt the ending made the game feel that much more like a noir-film
Real shame how Team Bondi went out of business after the game, their first and last
Team Bondi had some bad connections with its employees with being underpaid, extreme crunch time for 3 whole years. But it's truly sad that we'll never get a new L.A Noire
@Zoommaster19 I was looking forward to Whore of the Orient
Joe: There's cookies on the table. Have one, they're good.
Me: *looks down at table; sees Oreos I'm eating*
Detective Joe: "Do you happen to have any idea what I'm talking about?"
Me: "Yes actuall-"
Detective Joe: "Shut up!" (Slaps)
Me: "...........ow."
"NOBODY SAYS NO TO ANGRY JOE!!!" *bolts shoot* "rawr!!!" "dagnabit!" that scene killed me
this is still his best review of all time in my opinion, the skit were amazingly well done, (clever, funny & spot on) very entertaining review overall . this video right here is the definitive version of the ANGRY JOE SHOW ... PERIOD !!!
This and the Ride to Hell reviews were crazy good.
GAs honeybear wowed
MARHVIN XII I liked that skit about the GameStop incident
I agree for the most part, the only thing I don't like is the amount of jump cuts.

I just started playing this game on PC. This game holds up really well. I suggest it to whoever is looking for a new game.
me too! i got it today and its a real masterpiece.
***** no. I only have a gtx 645 and it runs fine.
unlikely
Is a good game but the 30 fps kill it for me am too sensitive to frames hurts my head .
+Sam winchester I think they wanted it to feel cinematic, therefore the 30 fps. 60 fps would have been great though
All the cases in this game is based on real crimes that happened around this time period. Like the "Black Dahlia" and the "Black Caesar".
Our class had a CSI thing to do and we were told to watch TV shows like CSI, CSI NY and CSI Miami etc. I just played this game
I tip my hat to you for being such a cultured human being.
They should make it a movie with the original actors. Or a second game. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaase Rockstar!
A second game would be better
both! :P
They can't because team bondi no longer exists that is why they haven't also they weren't gonna make la noire because bondi and rockstar had a bitter relationship
Your wish has been granted. La noire 2 confirmed
@@JC19171 no it isn't, moron.
Well.. I guess that joe just made a new review 😂😂 this game is re releasing!! Awesome review.

+OoEy Corrected the original post.
"Motionscan is the future"
well....
Yup, they fucked it up --'
It should've been..
oh? What do they call it nowadays?
Lol
extinct Well... They still do it now.
L.A. Noire is fucking awesome.
Benji James The Australian government funds video games?
Yes, they did fund Team Bondi for their next game "Whore of the Orient," but I didn't hear much about LA Noire. Team Bondi themselves were in development hell for 7 years, with a bunch of devs coming and going due to the mismanagement of the company and painful crunch hours. Not to mention the hundred employees that were left out of the credits and felt mistreated.
Benji James That's where your partially wrong kiddo!
Benji James Australia is also against Mortal Kombat games because of the blood and gore. I’d be depressed if I were a gamer living there. Seriously.
Government funded software developer gets stuck in dev hell for 7 years and the employees are unhappy. Go figure ;) lol
Is it just me or is this a lot better and funnier than his current reviews?
before copyright issues stole a part of joes personality
They’re all regurgitated vomit.
I agree.
As do i
Yeah
Anyone want a remaster of the masterpiece on ps4?
Fuck yes are you kidding me? that would be epic and also for the Xbox one.
Better yet, a sequal, though a remaster would be nice for people that haven't played it.
***** True
I would LOVE to see this game remastered. I know team bondi is no longer with us, but it would be awesome if Rockstar did a part 2 of LA Noire. everything about this game feels so good, the music they use, the moods they build, the character development, the cinematography ..... it's crazy how good this game is.
***** Do PS3 controllers seriously still do cost that much?
9:42 is hillarious.
I really like how when they talk the lips are really in sync with the sound and the acting is amazing
axe ram Yes!
The ending made me really sad, Rockstar usually has ending that get the feels wheels rolling
***** This game getting sequels would be far from a bad thing because we need more new and different kinds of games released and this should not be the only Detective game like this.
Unfortunately Team Bondi went bankrupt so I doubt there will be a sequel, Maybe KMM Studio (The people who bought Bondi) will do a sequel, who knows.
walter price I Played This Game Before, But I Didn't Like It.
Vijay Laud waiting for that game to be revealed. im excited for it.
walter price "I'm sorry..."
That is EPIC!!!
***** lame quote bro
I pray this story is true. I've done my damndest to turn old timers that I know are into noir onto the game and it makes me happy to know there's a generation of people who have long derided video games that now may start to take them seriously. It's about damn time.
This game is so underrated
kalkampanaros No, *UNDERRATED
8:50-10:59 *The acting from AJ is great it’s Oscar worthy I must say and that ending twist got me.* 😂
It really sucks that the team Bondy shutdown, they had a great franchise in their hands. Just imagine a open world like gta5 but set in the 40-50 with all type if side activities. Having players on line be cops/detectives and the others be criminals trying not to be cough, and doing crimes around the city.
Krisow guys, it's "Bondi" and it's pronounced "bond-eye" just so ya know.
What you're describing is pretty much APB reloaded, besides the time being set in 1940's-1950's.
You just basically described a 1940's cops n robbers game, badass

L.A. Noire + MAFIA II = GREAT!!!
They should totally remaster this game on the xbox one and the PS4
Damn, they would would've gone bankrupt soon.
It was released in 2011, it looks fine, it dosn't need remastering.
Yeoman86 Gaming I would pay 60 for a remaster. I never finished the game and would like to try again on PS4. I really enjoyed the challenge Noire presented as it forced you to think, evaluate, consider and reconsider, and the face feature system was excellent.
9 years after the mo cap technology in this game still blows my mind how realistic facial expressions looks🔥💯
Just finished it yesterday. I can't believe it took almost 6 years to play this game...What an amazing experience
GTMaxy94 just bought it off of humble bundle for like 6 bucks and am having a great time
+The Pooch awesome ;)
This game was an awesome change of pace. I really enjoyed it. It immerses you in the time period and putting the cases together are really fun.
Did they add alot of little subtle details? that make the world seem and feel even more believable, like most Rockstar Masterpieces?
R* is best gaming company! Every game they made is masterpiece!
Except for that piece of garbage Red Dead Redemption.
KIDDING. I'm just kidding.
+Kate the bear Was about to say you were absolutely insane
PickeKid I typed that out attempting to troll... I felt disgusted with myself. I still feel slimy.
+Oto B. GTA Chinatown Wars...
Best lip syncing I have ever seen in a game. Brilliant game.
LA Noire 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Bully 2, GTA6... omw Rockstar pleeeeeeeease.
And red redemption is the second in the series so there can't be a red dead redemption 2 if there are two in the series. Currently we only know it as Red Dead 3
Sorry but Team Bondi doesn't exist any more so probably no LA Noire 2 :(
+Quillin IKR.
The 70s would have been nice.
Here because of the Remastered announcement🙈
I love the theme song of this game. Something to listen to when you're relaxing.
Sooth soomth jazz
Agreed
It's eargasmic
I listen to it when I'm travelling somewhere and come with some stereotypical cop narration in my head for some true Noir experience!
Yep
Its so trippy that the characters look exactly like their actual voice actors it really adds to that movie feeling.
Kyle Soler Saves then the time of having to think of faces for each person.
Yeah I don't remember 2 of the guys nez but one was from charmed tv show and lost tv show.
Though you couldn't technically fail a case, you would get your ass yelled up by the boss for charging for the wrong guy.
@@RangerTroll THE CHIEF HAS MY BALLS STUCK ON A FRYING PAN!!!!!!!
@@jimfitzgerald2289 Lol
I'm surprised he didn't mention the "black and white" option in the menus, making the game... well... black and white. But really, this game is truly amazing. I played it on the most difficult setting, with no hints or help, and loved the muffins out of it.
Oh shit thanks for letting us know about that!
Joe made a great point about picking LIE vs DOUBT, so here's a good way to tell the difference and get it right all the time:
Chose doubt when you know the person is lying, (because of a nervous tick, or not looking you in the eyes), but can't prove it.
Choose lie when you know the person is lying, and you have evidence to PROVE it.
Good luck, gumshoes!
11 years later, I'm still playing this amazing game. Now on the OLED Switch. Somehow I could never get enough of it.
The entire interrogation scene had awesome pacing.
Out of all the impressions Joe has done, this video was the most enjoyable to watch.
One of the best stories in gaming.
The way the music changes at 9:42 in combination with the camera zoom in on Joe's face is really quite brilliant.
I'm so glad Other Joe is now a regular on the show... It kind of feels hollow without him now.
"Ya I killed those people!!" Best part!
That fucking facial expression part is so accurate and has me in tears every time
The good ol days. I miss this old joe.😿

This seems like the type of game that would have major stars, had Rockstar still cast triple A actors in their games, though the original actors for Cole and Jack remain. This is who I would have casted back then:
Stefan Bekowski: Sam Rockwell
Rusty Galloway: Michael Madsen
Roy Earle: Chris Pine
Herschel Biggs: Nick Nolte
James Donnelly: Bryan Cranston (He still had short hair at the time)
Gordon Leary: James Woods
Archie Colmyer: Michael Keaton
Leland Monroe: John Goodman
Courtney Sheldon: Josh Hutcherson
Harland Fontaine: Christopher Walken
Curtis Benson: Dennis Quaid
Ray Pinker: Tobey Maguire
Malcolm Caruthers: James Rebhorn
Elsa Lichtman: Diane Kruger

"My mistake. So tell me about this receipt for a washing machine."
Saw this review a few months back and now it was $7.50 on steam with the DLC that Joe mentioned was coming. I'll give this a shot.
A shining example of what video games should be like.
4:46 - Woah, is that Greg Grunberg?
Hell fucking yes
I want another one of these games.
Interesting, even though this is an old article, it looks like we might see something come of this soon since GTA5 is wrapped up. GTA online doesn't look like it's going to add heists before Watch Dogs comes out so hopefully that means that they're working on their next project and hopefully this is it.

How about LA Noire 2
With one of Phelp’s kids taking on his father’s footsteps and becoming a police officer sometime around the 60s or 70s/early 80s
Edit: (This is what I think the game plot should be)
It starts with Elsa giving birth to Cole’s kid.
Cases that are included (In order)
1. Patrol (Includes a protest case which teaches hand to hand combat and the special tools for taking down suspects) [5 Cases]
2. Burglary [5 Cases]
3. Traffic [6 Cases]
4. Homicide [5 Cases]
5. Vice [8 Cases]
The police story starts in 1973, and ends in 1974.

When Joe was being interagated by himself i almost fell down i was laughing so hard!!! great stuff LMAO
the facial expressions and the wording is really really good whoever did that needs to show scrubs these days how its done
Joe should play Ace Attorney.
