Polk, Louisiana, and for another three years traveling around the country and the world on an all expenses paid tour. Serious nostalgia hearing this song again. Too bad California has changed so much for the worse since then. Bittersweet.

A trait that that Chase, Sammy, and Maggie have is that even though their harmonies are excellent you can still hear their individual voices. I'm glad that at the mixing board their voices aren't all churned together. The gang did a really good job on this one.
"Well, I got down on my knees . . ." Tim brings such energy, so much soul, just the right gravelly touches at the right times. This is just a remarkable vocal, as impressive a performance of the song as anyone has ever given. Really.
Scott's not only an excellent musician but a classy guy. I tried to compliment him once without including Johnny Pike and he wasn't having any of it. He thinks of it as a team and they do make a great engine room for sure. 🌈

You see, I'm not much of a drinker, but tonight I decided to have a little brandy and I listened to an inordinate amount of F&F. And then I got to this one. Scott's virtuoso yet subtle performance brought me to old man tears. He is magnificent. Please tell me it's a dream and he is still with us. Scott, you don't know how much we miss you.

The guys were professional musicians called the Mustangs and they played for many years. This group is not interested in touring or writing their own music as they are quite comfortable doing covers for fun. I'm a musician of more than 50 years and take it from me you will not see or hear a better tighter and vocally pure group than this.

For all you know some or all of the vocals is lip synced or modified in realtime by software. My point is that to state 'take it from me you will not see or hear a better tighter and vocally pure group than this' does nothing good for your reputation. I am also a musician.

In that part it is extremely difficult even with modern technology to change the sound or vocals/presentation on each one so the balance has to be right. Sure as the band members are apart that Tim has done a fantastic job on the mixing but there is a limit to how much you can fudge any bad spots.What i have indicated is that the vocals by F&F are so good because the voices are matched and they sing in perfect pitch and tone. I have been in group like Lexington Lab Band where the musicians/singers are changed and i can tell you that there are groupings that perform better on certain songs than others. In F&F case these singers know each other and sing to their strengths..If you really want to see why they are so good go and look at the videos of their first performance and especially the first song Sweet Judy Blue eyes. This was in a shocking venue with the recording done on basic analogue equipment with no fancy gizmos. Listen carefully to the sound and voices and you will see why i comment that they are in a league of their own. It is unfortunate that they don,t do live concerts as you will then see what they can do. Perhaps listen to some of their carpark videos and you will also see the class as i have played in such conditions and it is tough.

It's so refreshing to watch and listen to a group that doesn't have to swallow their microphones. They have learned to project their voices. Also they are beat, on melody and just really look like they are enjoying the song that they are singing, not just singing the words.
Definitely. Although to be fair that’s likely because of the lack of ambient noise in the studio whereas on stage singers often likely use close-proximity mics to only capture their voice and not be drowned out by the booming band.
Their best work yet. I just rolled over 60 yrs last week, and the guys on guitar with the lead vocal captured a sad, wistful side to the song appropriate for these troubled times. Makes me long for a simpler time a few decades ago.
Sam's high harmony really rings out in several places on the chorus. Sounds incredible. The frosting on a perfect cake. This whole thing is wonderefully done. Congrats guys.

Well I hate to be one to say it, but I feel this wasn’t Tim’s song to sing. His voice was not the match for this particular song. I love this band and I love what they do for us on you tube but I have to be honest. Blessings
SPECTACULAR! The dual harmonized guitar lead for the instrumental is so much better than the original flute, and I never thought I would think that. Doing it with the guitars adds so much more energy to it and the song just spring-boards off the solo with even more energy because of it. Whew... vocals are beyond beautiful, and whole band plays with that perfect balance of delicate finesse and DRIVE that is so hard for bands to master.
I love this group !!!!!! I you like The Beach Boys check out The Fendertones and Bootleg Beach Boys , also The Mahoney Brothers for a mix of everything. I do not miss a day without listening to Foxes and Fossils though.
