tip #1. In my last employment, they never pre-wet tips. i was the only one who did. my results were higher than the rest of the group. i was reprimanded for not following sop.
Its a good wholesome video. Good to take two vials for practicing pippetting from one vial to another. The veritcak smooth plunging asoursying and dispensing. Repeatedly. It takes 1-3 months yo get used to get the skill to settle in your innner being. Using calibration and weinging machince pipetting can be checked. Maybe will edit this after sometime ~ on calbration.
the eppendorf electronic 12-ganga and 8-gang pipette can accommodate 200-uL and 300-uL tips. can i use 200-uL tips when working with smaller volumes? or is it explicitly forbidden?
Thank you for watching the 10 tips video series and for your question. Traditionally, the terms pre-rinsing and pre-wetting refer to the same process however in practice, we have observed them to be quite different. Below I’ve outlined the steps to illustrate the technique differences, which primarily center around removing the tip from the sample solution. Pre-Rinsing: press the plunger to first stop, place the pipette tip in sample solution, leave the tip in the sample solution and exercise plunger up and down several times. Pre-Wetting: press the plunger to first stop, place the pipette tip in sample solution, aspirate sample, remove tip from sample solution, press plunger to second stop to fully dispense sample against side of receptacle. Repeat steps at least 3 times. I hope this information is helpful. Thank you again for reaching out.
