    Hi great video! Do you know the torque specs for the larger idler pulley bolt? Trying to find it online and haven't been able to find. Thanks!

    Great video dude. Any tips on how to get that pulley off lol? Need to actually replace just the belt, got 10 years out of it! But, removed the nut holding the pulley on and it must be just rusted on because I can't get it off. Tried spraying it with some liquid wrench and still can't get it off.

      Those pulleys can be tough to pull off. It really comes down the pure grunt force. Or you can rent an automotive puller.

      @@DIYManiacJohnP OK thanks. I'll give it another go.

      @@DIYManiacJohnP Thanks for this entire video. Had a case where the belt had managed to free itself from that pulley. The nut didn't want to give, nor the pulley itself. Wound up having to pull the entire assembly off of the deck, clamp it in a vise and Unga Bunga the heck out of it. What should have been a 5 minute job turned into a 4 hour ordeal. On an unrelated note, I need to do some shoulder workouts. I'm really feeling it.

    great vidio ,but why take the deck of ? as you can get that pully off ,just drop the belt off and change over .IF the pully is not rusted on ..

    • @DIYManiacJohnP
      @DIYManiacJohnP  2 месяца назад

      For the majority of people, it’ll be easier to have the deck removed from the mower to change out the pulley, but if you’re able to do it with it in place then by all means, there’s no reason not to

  • @ralphbrucato9298

    Why didn't you tighten the nut with a torque wrench ? Would think JD has a specification on how much torque to put on it. Prob in manual.

    My belt came off and bent the idler pulley so badly it detached from the deck. There’s a hole now. Can it be welded or fixed???

    • @DIYManiacJohnP
      @DIYManiacJohnP  5 месяцев назад

      In theory anything could be fixed with enough money you just have to ask yourself if it’s worth it. I would at least call a couple local metal working shops to see what they say.

    Will bad tensioners cause belt to keep coming of? Thanks

    • @DIYManiacJohnP
      @DIYManiacJohnP  7 месяцев назад +1

      It most definitely can if the proper tension is not maintained, the belt will be allowed to slide off

    Great videos love them just wondering if you have any info out there on why would my belt rum on the plastic belt guard covers…it’s a LT150 it’s almost like the belt is loose but it’s all new only 1 yr old.

    • @doonsbury9656
      @doonsbury9656 Год назад

      @MedicMark I have a D105 and my belt also rubs on one of the plastic belt guards...has slightly worn the guard where it rubs as a matter of fact. But it does not interfere with the performance of the mower and, after 5 years it has no viable effects on the belt itself (The fact that the belt is 5 years old and hasn't been replaced shows that the "Rubbing" is no damaging the belt) Anyway, I hope that this helps alleviate any concerns you may have about the rubbing? My advice would be to simply monitor the belt for any deterioration. Cheers, Doons

      Found a way. Spray wd 40 in the middle and spin it to try to get it in there a bit, then just wack it a few times with a rubber mallet not too hard though on thr top, then wavk the bottom. Do that for a few cycles and it popped right off
