JUNE 2020 UPDATE: We are sad to report that Liz Pereira has passed away due to complications following surgery. She was an amazingly sweet and welcoming person with a wealth of knowledge about St. Kitts tourism. She will be dearly missed!!
We just came back from st. Kitts. We did not have anything planned but ended up jumping on a $20 tour. It was an open-air bus and it was amazing. We saw so many cool things. It was absolutely beautiful and well worth the money. They even gave you water, soda rum punch.
Tip on the St Kitts train ride, the natural desire is to ride up top but the fumes are terrible. The excursion itself is great, saw so much of the island.
I just went here with Royal. We signed up for a the volcano hike. It said strenuous but we have done a lot of Royal strenuous excursions. This was insanity. Straight up hill, like 6 miles, like 6 hour hike, the fact that someone didn't sprain their ancle is surprising. Then when we got to the top, we got 2 minutes for a photo on the top. We paid $130 a person and got some juice and a sandwich with some ham. Granted it was pretty, but wow $130 to an grueling hike, was pretty crazy.
We have been to St. Kitts twice now. We were there 3 weeks ago on the Pride Journeys cruise. Interesting little detail on that brand new dock. We were docked on the new dock, apparently they can only use one side for now as they discovered the water was too shallow to bring a ship in on the other side, the local we were talking to said, it is scheduled as soon as the busy season is over they are to blast the rocks and make both side available, so right now only 3 ships can be in. But I would highly suggest visiting the Island, and do a tour open air or in buss, take a tour. We are already booked on our next cruise, not that we chose it because it is stopping here, but we were happy to see it is on the list.
we were there 3 weeks ago, our splurge excursion was the train, its great except we were rained on, open bar awesome, saw a lot. everyone the train passed waved, nice touch St Kitts! shaded waiting area was appreciated as everything ran late that day, did most of our souvenir shopping right there at the port. great selection of stuff for the grandkids.
We have been to St. Kitts one time and took an open-air bus tour. We enjoyed it very much. Next time, we will check into some of the options you mentioned. Thanks for the excellent review.
O My goodness! Monkeys! I feel like I want to change our itinerary to Thenford now after hearing your reviews! O I am so excited! That sounds like a wonderful day! Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you for all these!! Was there mid Jan 2022 on NCL cruise. Make sure to stop and eat the chicken johnny cake at Mrs Moore's Live to Eat Snackette shop by the national museum you mention! Delicious, huge and only a few bucks!! Also, took a very fun Selfie Tour through NCL...small group of about 12 ppl and they took us all around the island, guide was great in telling us ALL about their people, city buildings, history, and took us to many stops. Plenty of time to get out at each and use the selfie sticks (provided by your company) with several hours left to shop and get johnny cakes after! Masks were required all around the island, but it was such a fun day, didn't even mind. Passed the train tour several times so you see what they see and then some, but with the option to get out and explore a bit!
Just FYI snuba does not have a helmet. It's the closest to scuba. You don't control the air tank or carry the air tank yourself. But you do have the regulator that you use to breathe like scuba.
Hello! Your videos are great! Can you please tell me, do you need to book Thenford Grey ahead of time or can you just get off the ship and go to their location and sign up there? TIA
We always book ahead of time, just to be safe. We sometimes wait until a few days ahead so that we can get a grasp on the potential weather, but we’ve never been comfortable just hopping off and snagging an excursion at the pier, ha ha…:P
@@parodeejay my feelings exactly! I hate to leave it to chance but I also kinda wanna wait for the weather and to make sure we are stopping at the port. Thanks for the tip!
We haven't been there ourselves, but we've heard South Friars Bay is the best spot for snorkeling. Folks have said there's a reef maybe 20 yards offshore that draws in the fish. We enjoyed hanging out at Reggae Beach Bar at Cockleshell Beach and there were a few urchins and things to be seen, but it wasn't the snorkeling hotspot, hah.
No, it looks like you’d have to walk 4 or 5 miles to even hit the nearest beach, which belongs to a hotel/resort. More of a taxi or shuttle situation to get to a good beach in St Kitts.
Nice commentary except they seem to be unaware that cruise ships sometimes dock at the deepwater port on the east side of the port where cargo ships offload their cargo. So it is not quite true that only four ships could dock
Aha, we've always docked at Port Zante. That's a good point! Much like the last time we went to Dominica, they took us into the container port rather than the main pier, which threw us for a loop. Thanks for the tidbit!! :D

Hopefully, I will visit St. Kitts for the first time on the Breeze in March 2021. I am looking forward to seeing new ports on this 8 day cruise.
Woohoo! Hope you have a blast!! :D

Ahaaa, I must be thinking of “Sea Trek” which I think is where you have a helmet and walk on the bottom!! :D

Great port guide! You do such a great job❤️
Thanks so much!! :D
We are looking for a beach for great snorkeling. In your opinion, which one is best?
We haven't been there ourselves, but we've heard South Friars Bay is the best spot for snorkeling. Folks have said there's a reef maybe 20 yards offshore that draws in the fish. We enjoyed hanging out at Reggae Beach Bar at Cockleshell Beach and there were a few urchins and things to be seen, but it wasn't the snorkeling hotspot, hah.
Is there a shipwreck you can swim to and snorkel at shipwreck beach?
What was the name of the trolley tour company you hired?
Thenford Grey for the overall island tour.
is there a beach walking distance from port?
No, it looks like you’d have to walk 4 or 5 miles to even hit the nearest beach, which belongs to a hotel/resort. More of a taxi or shuttle situation to get to a good beach in St Kitts.
Any new pier in grand cayman yet….?
Not that I’m aware of. Still a tender port, assuming they’ll allow ships to visit in the near future!!

If I’m going to use a pool I’d just stay on the ship and enjoy free food and the drinks package.
How To Get Hold Of You Or SomeOne From Beautiful St Kitts?
