Girl, it will be the most rewarding hardest job of your life. Babies are so great to have but that fourth trimester hits hard sometimes. Just be prepared to not feel prepared. People always talk about how wonderful it is but just know there are so many difficult parts to it. You won’t always feel like you’re doing the best thing but just remember that YOU are the best mama for that baby. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and take time for yourself. My father passed away in 2010 and I just gave birth to my daughter Aug 2020. I also keep thinking about how my father would be around her and what she would call him. My baby turned 25 years old today. I can remember the day she was born like it was yesterday. There is nothing better than becoming a mom. There will be frustrating days for sure. as soon as you mentioned how unfair it was for your father to not be there for this next chapter in your life, I broke down. Im literally crying as I type this because that is exactly how I felt and still feel now being in another country doing my grad school degree. He wasn't there for any of my college graduations, my acceptance letters, my awards...none of it. He also passed incredibly young from cancer, just as your father did, and its still traumatizing, going on eight years now. It's hard not to feel like an imposter knowing that he's not here to call and talk about any of it with me. You're holding up far better than anyone can ever ask of you, and I suspect heavily its because of your amazing family and support system. Just keep doing things that keep his love, life, and memory alive and it will hurt less over time. *hug*

Just hearing you talk about your dad made me cry. It really isn’t fair, you’re right. I lost my mom super suddenly last January. I have no idea how I made it a year with out my best friend and hero. I feel like I’m living a nightmare every single day. It never gets better but it does get easier to manage. It still feels surreal for me too at times.

i actually started watching you bc my father was diagnosed with lung cancer in May of 2020 but bc of covid i wasnt able to see him more than once before he passed a few months later. I understand how you're feeling bc all i can think about is how my dad wont be here to meet his future grandchildren or walk me down the aisle. the only thing that keeps me from going too crazy is that i know he loved my boyfriend/fiance and that honestly means the world to me

I have the same bodysuit! I love it but it is cut really low and I feel like I always wear it to the wrong occasion. Like instead of wearing it on date night I wear it to a family dinner and end up feeling awkward all night.
I’m sure you checked with your OB but do you think it’s really safe to fly during COVID? I know quite a few people who caught it on an airplane. Have you thought of maybe driving? No idea how far or how long that drive would be. I guess you’re a better friend than me, but I think in your shoes I’d skip that wedding. 😢 not to mention being at a wedding is so risky as well. I work in healthcare and have heard stories of those who had to emergency deliver babies early from COVID, it’s just horrific and not the time for big gatherings.

as soon as you mentioned how unfair it was for your father to not be there for this next chapter in your life, I broke down. Im literally crying as I type this because that is exactly how I felt and still feel now being in another country doing my grad school degree. He wasn't there for any of my college graduations, my acceptance letters, my awards...none of it. He also passed incredibly young from cancer, just as your father did, and its still traumatizing, going on eight years now. It's hard not to feel like an imposter knowing that he's not here to call and talk about any of it with me. You're holding up far better than anyone can ever ask of you, and I suspect heavily its because of your amazing family and support system. Just keep doing things that keep his love, life, and memory alive and it will hurt less over time. *hug*

Just hearing you talk about your dad made me cry. It really isn’t fair, you’re right. I lost my mom super suddenly last January. I have no idea how I made it a year with out my best friend and hero. I feel like I’m living a nightmare every single day. It never gets better but it does get easier to manage. It still feels surreal for me too at times.

i actually started watching you bc my father was diagnosed with lung cancer in May of 2020 but bc of covid i wasnt able to see him more than once before he passed a few months later. I understand how you're feeling bc all i can think about is how my dad wont be here to meet his future grandchildren or walk me down the aisle. the only thing that keeps me from going too crazy is that i know he loved my boyfriend/fiance and that honestly means the world to me

I am going to be more patient and loving towards my family, my mom has a chronic illness that almost took her life when I was in high school 6 years ago and she is still fighting for her life everyday. I have the same bodysuit! I love it but it is cut really low and I feel like I always wear it to the wrong occasion. Like instead of wearing it on date night I wear it to a family dinner and end up feeling awkward all night.

I’m sure you checked with your OB but do you think it’s really safe to fly during COVID? I know quite a few people who caught it on an airplane. Have you thought of maybe driving? No idea how far or how long that drive would be. I guess you’re a better friend than me, but I think in your shoes I’d skip that wedding. 😢 not to mention being at a wedding is so risky as well. I work in healthcare and have heard stories of those who had to emergency deliver babies early from COVID, it’s just horrific and not the time for big gatherings.
