    I like how the fellow on the right taught. He kept bringing their tutorial back to fundamental understandings, and clarified muddy language! Thanks for this video, it was helpful to me.

    Unless you have a router in the config you aren't "routing" anything. You're talking about a LAN. I have a ton of network and I/T experience and I'm looking to get into the home automation field. I don't like programming so I think I'm going to look for installer and field tech jobs. Do you have any suggestions?

    • @ProAVSchool
      @ProAVSchool  3 месяца назад

      I don't remember exactly what we said but we may have actually been talking about routing video/audio with respect to a switcher possibly. Either way, there is a lot of development in multicast video over IP solutions; Crestron's NVX and a bunch of manufacturers have various products in that category. With your experience, you might be able to leverage that to help configure robust networks that can handle multicast in various configurations. There are also platforms like Crestron Home and again similar offerings from other manufacturers that are more of a configuration based approach and don't rely on a lot of custom programming.
      I would suggest looking around your area for AV Integration companies both residential and commercial focused and start talking with them - connect on LinkedIn, check out their sites to see if they are hiring, etc. I know that a lot of integrators have trouble finding good talent. This varies by area of course, but just start investigating in your area and try to start having some conversations with people. Hopefully this helps a bit -Dustin

    I just have one issue with this video. The guy in the left. When he is talking about things he is moving his hands in front of gear that he is not talking about so it confused me for a bit. The guy in the right when he reiterates he pleases his hands in front of what he’s actually talking about which made things make sense. Thank you guy on the right!

      do you have access to the Crestron software through a dealer account? You will probably need SIMPL Windows (for the main processor) and Vision Tool Pro-e (for touch panels)

      You do have a fair point actually. With the title of this video you were probably looking for some fundamental concepts of Crestron and the discussion here didn't really cover that. I did a beginner Crestron workshop course that might help fill in some blanks, send me an email dustinb@proavschool.com and I can send you a link to check it out and see if it is helpful to you.

      Crestron's DM and DMPS units actually use HDbaseT which (kind of) predates actual network encoded video. The medium is still category cable but it is 1:1 transmitter-receiver essentially.

    Poor audio for an A/V course. Too much talk about themselves.

    • @ProAVSchool

      Fair comment about the audio. Our production budget was quite limited for these videos. They were a lot of talk, but there are also a bunch of other Crestron related videos on this youtube channel and our affiliated channel, OverworkedLogic. -Dustin
