IN MY OPINION, PAUL BRINGAR ROLE AS GELIFER HOSKINS ON LANCER JUST SHOWED WHAT A VERSATILE ACTOR, HE COULD BE. I FIRST FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM, WHEN HE WAS ON RAWHIDE. ALONG WITH CLINT EASTWOOD, HE WAS FUN TO WATCH. WHEN HE CAME TO LANCER HE BROUGHT HIS STYLE OF ACTING TO THE SHOW. OUT OF ALL THE SHOWS HE WAS IN, LIKE LIFELINE, THE LORELEI, ETC. I FOUND THAT I LOVED THE DEATH BAIT, THE BEST. LIKE THE REST OF THE CAST, HE COULD SHOW HIS EMOTIONS AT THE DROP OF A HAT. BUT MY SECOND CHOICE WOULD BE LIFELINE, THESE (2) SHOWS HAD JELLY FACING DEATH, & THINKING THAT THE GRIM REAPER WAS MAKING A. TRIP FOR HIM. JELLY HAD A SPECIAL CONNECTION, WITH PEOPLE & ESPIECALLY ANIMALS. HIS BOND WITH ANIMALS, WAS SAME AS HE HAD FOR PEOPLE. HIS RAPPORT WITH JOHNNY IS A BADGE HE WEARS PROUDLY. HE TOOK THAT SAME RAPPORT TOO THE REST OF THE FAMILY. TERESA, SCOTT, & MURDOCH ALSO RECIEVED HIS BRAND OF LOVE. JELLY 'S LOVE FOR HIS ADOPTED FAMILY, ALSO SHOWED THE WAY HE DID WITH THE ANIMALS. LIKE ARRABELLA, THE SOW, HUMP, HIS BRAMA BULL & HIS GOOSE DEWDROP. PAUL'S CHARACTER COULD SHOW LOVE & COMPASSION TO BOTH MAN & ANIMAL. HIS BOND WAS INSTANT WITH JOHNNY WAY BEFORE HE FOUND OUT HE WAS A LANCER. THE TOP HAND, MULE & HORSE WRANGLER, & A GOOD & BEST FRIEND TO MURDOCH. BUT TO JOHNNY, SCOTT, TERESA HE WAS A ADOPTED CROTCHY UNCLE. (NOTE) SADLY PAUL PASS (1995) LIKE A GREAT DUST STROM, HE CAME INTO OUR LIVES, & GAVE US WISHBONE & JELLY HOSKINS. A GENTLE RAIN WASH THE TEARS OF PAIN, AS A SWEET SOUL HITCH HIS WAGON BOUND, FOR LANCER HEAVENLY RANCH. (RIP) PAUL BRINGAR(JELLY HOSKINS). WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN ON THAT SUNLIT TRAIL BY & BY A LOVING LANCER FAN😍🎥💝
This whole episode doesn't make any sense, because there are no ranch hands anywhere to be seen. In other episodes we see the guys walking in and out of the barn, the corral, etc. And miscellaneous women, too - always wondered who they were - cooks? Laundresses? Anyone as wealthy as Murdoch wouldn't have Teresa cooking for the family and cleaning that big house all by herself.
Love Jelly...but where all the hired workers ?? Surely they didnt ALL ride off with Johnny & Scott...surely Mursoch kept guards besides Sew Drop the duck !!! Almost didn't recognize Tom Selleck.. he was so young then !!!
@@debrarick9617 Right??? Totally unrecognizable without his trademark mustache! Except his voice is still the same. He's the one who was making fun of the dog and then got backed up against the wall.
Nothing Better than old western movies when it is cold and snowing, Alberta Canada.
The opening sequence is nice in that it shows the strong chemistry between James Stacy and Wayne Maunder.
Really nice suspense western.. I enjoy good western movies..
Loved Teresa's hip action (around 9:39) as Johnny walked into the house. Typical sibling behavior!
9-28-23 Great Storyline. Really enjoying these Episodes. Thank you.
Well the Lancer boys were gone. But Tom Selleck & Sam Elliot made a cameo... beardless..almost did recognize them !!!

Loved Jelly. He had funny lines !!!
another favorite
Paul Brinegar was Jim Dog Kelly in The Life and Legion of Wyatt Earp Saloonkeeper in Dodge City
He was also G.W. Wishbone on Rawhide.
God bless Jelly.. see ya at the Big Ranch some day brother..
beginning of Tom Selleck and Sam Elliot character voices
We also had the hunk Sam Elliott
at 15:00... no bullet puts THAT big a hole in a barrel...! I can't believe they don't have several good, big dogs out there.

Why don't they ever Lock the doors on that big house & keep bad guys from just sauntering in ???
Saw this plot in several other westerns before.
For such a HUGE house. ..they don't use much of it..they never show that many rooms..
it is a public property and limited filming but you can visit & you are right 32 rooms !

A Duggan rip
They seriously need their own private security 24/7
