    I have the red model I bought about 10 years ago. I love that thing. Have an 11x19 giddle i use on top for just about everything. Bake muffins, cornbread and brownies in the oven. Also works as a warming oven as i cook like pancakes, bacon and eggs. Our trailer has an stove/oven but i like cooking outside unless the weather is just nasty. Its the first thing i set up once the trailer is chalked and level. Nothing better than fresh, warm brownies and ice-cream for desert!! Gotta lov it.

    We have been looking at these for years and just never got one. Mostly because we didnt know how well they would actually work. Thank you for sharing! I think we may think a little harder about getting one. It would make camping in any type of weather situation so much easier. Also like you pointed out, if we lose power, like we so often do, it will be great as a back up!!
    Have a great week Dale!!

      Oh thank you so much for the kind words sir, this is truly a good little tool to have not only at camp, but like you said, we all loose power from time to time and it is nice to have a little back up plan that works.
      Thanks agian for the kind words and keep us posted if you end up getting one.

    Never thought about having an oven when camping except maybe a Dutch Oven but this looks great and makes for a great back-up emergency method of cooking. Good stuff Dale ! Thanks and have a great week.

      Yes sir, I will second that, I have been taking Dutch ovens to camp since I was a kid. I like you never thought about an actual oven. I did mention my bride loves her dinner rolls, hahaha, she loves having her rolls at camp etc. There has also been a few years at deer camp when there was a burn ban and unsung the charcoal grill and or dutch oven was not an option. I love cooking off an open fire as well, but those years with a burn ban, you can still have a great meal even if some of the. stuff you bought may actually cook up better in an oven, not to mention the weather Delmas of life at home as well. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week. my freind.

    Thanks for a great video! While we don’t do too much oven cooking in the house - whenever we do - our whole interior just reeks from the process because of how the air flows in our home. We’re looking to move those cooking chores outdoors …and this might just be the answer to our troubles! Greatly appreciate your detailed review of the Camp Chef oven- happy cooking!💕

      Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and thank you for the kind words. This may well be the ticket, I agree, it gets so hot here in Texas, we often use ours (not in the home) just to cut down on excess heat in the hours. Thanks again and keep us posted on what you guys end up with. Thanks again and have a blessed weekend.

    I have that same oven, well ... actually, I have the deluxe model. It has been my only oven, as I live in a dry cabin and have limited space. I have been using mine for just over 2 years. I would add 3 things to what you said: first, that is an awesome shirt. Second, the oven is meant to be used outdoors, and I keep mine on the front porch. Third, due to keeping the oven outdoors for use, the weather and wind does effect the ability to heat up. I don't always get very hot temps in the oven, but it does cook even if it takes a bit longer. Oh, and bonus forth, if you are baking bread that will rise, remove the top rack. I learned that lesson the hard way.
    As for the stove portion, I use it occasionally when processing a whole lot of canned foods. It works great with a pressure canner, water bath canner, steam canner, and more. My tiny one burner, butane stove that I keep indoors doesn't do as well. We have cooked all of our holiday meals with that oven for the past 2 years.
    Oh, and I live in Oklahoma if that gives you an idea of what weather/temperature conditions I face using it.

      Oh thank you so very much for the kind words. Thank you for taking the time to share this with everyone. Oklahoma, Is where I lived most of my life, so yes mam, I can the windy state causing some issues with it holding temps. Wow, you do a lot of canning, I need to learn how to do that, I truly never thought about it as a outdoor use only stove or oven, so that does make sense to me. here at the house, the shop is large enough, I dont think it is an issue. , well it hasn't been, but you are smart in the fact of using it outside. Again, thank you so very much for taking the time to share this with us and I hope you have a blessed week my friend.

    I have one of these I tossed in my Hurricane Survival room. I've never had to take it out of the box. I have plenty of stoves and other hurricane gear and backup generators. I'm really curious about taking that stove out and giving it a run just for fun.

    I just learned camp chef discontinued the camp ovens, so whatever is out there is it..... I'm glad i got one, it's an older model, no handles or integrated thermometer....but it's looks new and worked great today, baked up some cornbread!.....i tried to reply to my other thread but the comments kept disappearing.

      I have noticed that they are no longer in stock anywhere, so that makes perfect sense. I wonder why they quite making them. They are a great little oven stove combo. That is not good in my opinion. Well goodness, it looks like Flame King is making one now, that looks very much like the original one. We shall see, might be fun to get one of those and see how they compare.
      Thank you for letting us all know and I hope you have a blessed week.
      PS, I am glad you found one as well as I bed the cornbread was great. Thanks for sharing this news with us and I Hope you have a blessed week.

      I'm pretty sure that is a good buy, I know I purchased mine for close to 3 hundred. Make sure you get the long propane hose to keep the 5 gallon away from where you are cooking.

    • @HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors
      @HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors  3 месяца назад

      Oh man that is not good, you may want to take it back where you got it from and see if they will trade it for a new one, they should all be working. I can run all three on high at anytime. So yours should be as well.

  • @MichaelChambers-d7c
    @MichaelChambers-d7c 5 часов назад

    I just bought one - HOW do I regulate the oven temp? I've run it just once on low, but the temp just keeps rising

    • @HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors
      @HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors  4 часа назад

      Ours the temp runs a little high, so I just adjust the time of whatever I am cooking, it is normally only a few degrees high. You may also note this for reference, the temp gauge is at the top and heat rises, so I dont think its as high as the little gauge shows, have never uses my laser temp gauge on it, and it is more like camping gear, so It wont be as good as one in the house that will actually turn the gas heat completely off if it need to, but for what it is , I think it works great. Try a few cooks in it even if it is simple stuff like dinner roles and then you can have a better idea on how yours is working as well? Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week

      @@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors Thank you for the quick reply. I am trying to learn this in time for Thanksgiving. It seems the best way to regulate temperature is to open the door periodically since the temp never seems to stabilize. Are there any other tricks by chance?

    • @HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors
      @HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors  Час назад

      Not that I know of. I know we have from time to time shut it off to lower temps to kinda regulate it. But with it being an open system with no true thermostat. It is kind of a fun game just to get it work. With time and patience it can be done. If that makes sense. Sorry for the delay in this reply. Working on getting some stuff done this morning as well before this cold front comes in later with storms.

    • @HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors

      You might also try starting it. Letting it warm up. Then put it in low and on ours. That is close to holding the 350 temp. Hope this helps friend.

      Trying to reply. Internet not working great. You might also try starting it up. Let it get warm. Then out it in low. In ours it seams to get closer to a 350 doing that. Hope this helps friend.
