This is NEEDED truth. For years I’ve read many performance based marriage books and they left me discouraged and feeling hopeless. Right relationship with Christ and grace based living is biblical. Thank you! This gives me hope for an almost thirty-nine year dysfunctional marriage.
Love this!! Now if only I can apply it. 😔 I have such a hard time remembering how Im supposed to act as a Christian wife when everyday frustrations attack. Christ alone is my hope and strength. 🙏
Hi Loretta! No, we've not spoken at Weekend to Remember. We will be on their broadcast later this year though. Thanks for watching the Focus on the Family videos and commenting here.
I understand what your saying,to have a date-night, you dont have to go out ,try to put the kids to bed earlier, have a picnic in the the living room, watch a movie on your television,or DVD even if you've seen it a hundred times. They're about spending quality time with each other.
I suggest looking into Dave Ramsey! You don’t have to stay financially stuck. We got out of debt and are now building savings within in a couple years.
We would often trade baby sitters, brew coffee and go to the river and sit. When that was not possible, we made sure to have undistracted time after the kids went to bed. The point is to make one-on-one time an intentional part of your marriage. It's so easy for the busyness and demands of life to squeeze out our marriages.
You can talk on a bench while your kids play at a park, or McDonald's play structure. Or kids are 9,8, 6 and 2 and we also don't have much money. We've never had a babysitter, but we date at home. Or we talk while we walk. The baby is in the stroller and doesn't need to be watched and the older kids bike ahead of us.
If you trade babysitters, here are some budget friendly date night ideas! Picnic in the Park Movie Marathon Pick flowers in a field. Board Game Night Visit a Free Museum or Art Gallery Hike or Nature Walk Buy inexpensive candles for a candlelight dinner. Bike Ride Karaoke Night Go to a nice restaurant and split a dessert. Volunteer Together Visit a Farmers’ Market Outdoor Fitness Class Visit a Botanical Garden Stargazing Geocaching Have coffee in the lobby of a nice hotel. Visit a Flea Market Visit a Free Concert or Street Performers Thrift Store Challenge Visit a Historical Site DIY Spa Day Ice Cream Sundae Bar Visit a Botanical or Community Garden Watch a Sunset or Sunrise Go Rollerblading or Skating Visit a Comedy Open Mic Night Explore a Nearby Town Visit a Free Outdoor Concert

The love between them is so beautiful and humble

Ditto, sister
Amen to that! 6:05
THANK YOU both sooo much!
They should call it marriage coaching, not marriage counseling. Because every relationship needs a hand at some point in time.
So true! Grace Marriage is a pathway of marriage discipleship. It's investment and enrichment which will help avoid crisis.
They actually do call it marriage coaching in the advertising and materials!
Have you had them at the weekend to remember?
Hi, Loretta! Weekend to Remember is through Family Life. You can ask them! We hope this helps.

This all sounds great, but when you’re poor, there are no date nights. Movie nights. Go out to dinner nights. No babysitters that work for free, etc.
