- The African harrier hawk, a medium-sized raptor, look at this amazing display when threatened...
Standing on the High Water Bridge of the Sabie River at Paul Kruger Gate we witness this amazing behaviour from the African Harrier Hawk or also called "Gymnogene".
This is truly a remarkable bird due to its ability to hunt for food mostly live prey while hanging upside down and breaking open small crevasses in tree trunks to reach its food.
The face also changes colour from yellow to red when the bird is mating.
This was an amazing scene to watch but when played in slow motion it's incredible as I did not know it can make this type of display when threatened.

That display of size didn’t sway those kingfishers. Thanks so very much for posting this video.
Our pleasure!
Amazing sighting! Your camera is very good, or the sighting was very close, or perhaps both! I like so much the slow motion when woodland kingfisher arrives👏👏👏
Thank you very much!
I like his head too much, it is magnificent💞. It reminds me of another raptor, I'm not a connoisseur, but I appreciate it.
Thank you for the video👍
