      I went to a Korean supermarket once (I don’t live in Korea) and I was wearing a Chanel bag and the Korean woman who was the cashier stared at my bag and was excessively nice to me. I could see that Korean respect and love people who are rich. It‘s sad because I don’t want to be respected or loved for how much money I have or how I look but rather for my heart and personality.

    Luxury brands are not aimed at the Rich, their biggest aim is the middle class and people who want to appear rich. That’s why all your favorite celebrities and influencers are brand ambassadors. Usually when they wear those items they never buy them but are usually gifted them to show off

    • @KBowWow75
      @KBowWow75 10 месяцев назад +518

      High value individuals never have to explain they are high value. If you explain to someone that you are high value, you are not high value because you are not confident enough in your value to speak for itself. So if you have a luxury item, you are not confident in your own value, so you buy something to convince others you have value. I dress sharply as I have been since my mid-20s. I refuse to have clothes with logos on them. The amount of attention I get in Korea is astounding. I recently went to a wedding in Korea, and someone I knew of, but never spoke to prior, was fan-girling over me. She lept out of her chair to greet me even thigh she never said hello to me before. I didn't need to look around the room to know I was the best dressed in the room. I prepared and knew before I got to the venue that I would be the best dressed. The bride's mother had respect for me and how I dressed with such respect for her daughter's wedding. A few days ago I was walking after my run (sweaty as can be) and a woman came up and asked me for my number and asked why when I shook my head. How you carry yourself has a bigger impact on others than what you are carrying.

    • @minhothehoexx6011
      @minhothehoexx6011 10 месяцев назад +297

      @@KBowWow75 exactly!! Being a high value individual is definitely more about how you carry yourself and you’re attitude towards other people. I think people get so lost in trying to fit in, and buying brand name items that they forget that an easy way to gain respect is to just have the right attitude and mindset. Dressing sharply does definitely help but your wardrobe doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg. People should respect you for the person you are not the value of stuff you own!

I know plenty of people who got themselves indebted solely so that they can buy designer stuff. It's common here for people to pay off the price for those items in monthly installments. However, there are plenty of people who also don't care and they are the happiest, even if a large part of the society might not think so.
      The hyper competitive nature in Korea is what has helped them to thrive in terms of national development, but at what cost.. The suicide rate needs to be addressed and priorities reassessed. Apart from that, they are some of the friendliest and polite people around.

In fact if you're buying items that are 15k and upwards I can safely say that even if I have to spend my whole life buying cheap items, like watches, for example, and even if they break and need to be replaced periodically I still won't spend anything near 15k on all of those cheap watches in my entire lifetime. Plus fashion trends change and items wear off, even if they're higher quality, so there's no way that lady is going to spend her entire life with only one hermes bag, she's gonna buy more than one. And the debt just piles up. Moreover, there are plenty of unexpensive brands that offer durable goods in quality that surpasses even luxury brands'. I hope no one gets tricked by that lady's faulty logic.

    As an Indian I NEVER in my life met someone who wore ANY ONE of those luxury brands. It's not bcs we can't afford it. It more like we prefer buying a lot of clothes or accessories at a cheaper rate than expensive ones. The most expensive item I own is a shoes that worth 6000 rs and I am scared to wear it. I've only wore it twice or thrice in 2 years. And moreover here nobody's gonna judge you based on the cost of the outfit you wear. I must say living in Korea is really difficult.

    This is real about them. I’ve seen it first-hand when shopping with friends overseas. They put a lot of energy on how they are perceived by others. It’s very important to them to look the part. It makes perfect sense to my friends, but not to me. I think it’s insecurity, but I don’t know why. My friends are gorgeous. It’s their thing. Everyone has a thing.
