    Very nice. I do a similar thing with layers of wood. I'm slowing working on Seasons of the year. Got hung up due to a Palm tree hanging off the block. Such is life - got that figured out.

    Thanks for educating me on the process and techniques. Very interesting how many ways you have to influence the outcome in contrast to melding your schedule with ink drying. Things in your control versus out of your control. I loved seeing the changes of the tree and the field. A reminder of so many things. I like the boldness the last layer added to both prints. Good wishes for their finish.

    I absolutely loved both of these prints and I’m hoping to see them in the flesh at Bovey Tracey! (I bought my birthday present from my husband to me at your stall there last year, and am hoping to do the same this year!) I was also really impressed by your technique for registration - simple but effective!

      Thank you Janet! Yes I'll definitely be taking these prints to Bovey Tracey, lots of prep going on in the studio at the moment to get ready for the show 🥰 See you in a couple of weeks!

    Amazing print again and a fabulous apron, looks far too lovely to get ink all over but I suspect you are a neater printmaker than me😊

    The detail in the mackerel sky is so incredible 😍. Don’t your fingers get sore Molly? Not from injury, I mean pressing down as you carve and control the tool? Or are you not applying a lot of pressure when you carve, there’s so much minute detail!

    • @mollylemonart
      @mollylemonart  4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you Natalie! Yes my hands do get sore, I have to be careful as a few years ago I was unable to work for a while as I developed some issues in my hands from engraving... My problem is I'm obsessive with my engraving so I find it hard to stop and rest my hands!

    Loved seeing the process. How long do your inks take to dry usually? 💛

    • @mollylemonart
      @mollylemonart  4 месяца назад +2

      Thank you! Oh it depends on weather and what colours I use, the black may dry in a couple of days but yellow can take weeks 🙈 also the more the ink is layered the longer it takes to dry which is why I’m having issues with these ones, the 4th Mackerel Sky later has been drying for 22 days and is still too wet to print on 😅
