Robert Plant Talks about Dread Zeppelin. Apparently he is a big fan of the band. I always go the bands official website: www.dreadzeppelin.com Видеоклипы
I'm glad Robert likes Dread Zeppelin's stuff. As a fan of Led Zeppelin and Dread Zeppelin, this was a pleasant discovery for me.
You don't even know... I effing loved LZ until I heard DZ, now I feel like a wife with two husbands!
I love how Plant says 'the music is FANTASTIC!'!!Love it!!!
Dread Zeppelin deserves 2 be liked..Love that moment 2 when Plant says it
Snowy Hoffa You got it!There is another clip of the whole band and they're talking about Dread. They love them! And so do I!
Despite being the ultimate rock n' roll God, Plant always took things with a pinch of salt, always reminding people that music is for having fun and nothing else. Dread Zep is a great tribute indeed
Black Dog is called Black Hound Dog and Heartbreaker is called Heartbreaker Hotel, that's pretty funny, how cool is Robert Plant, giving props to Dread Zeppelin.
I had alwasy wondered what Plant thought of them. Good to know he wasn't ticked!
He only hated The band "Kingdom Come"
In the mid 90s a group of my SF friends and I were in LA visiting a buddy who was in med school at USC. It was late in the day and we had taken some mushrooms at little bar/nightclub in Pasadena. As the sun set the shrooms started coming on, and just as a wave of giggled hit us a band started warming up. We had no F'n clue what was about to happen. By pure happenstance Dread Zeppelin took the stage and fried our innocent minds to a little crisp. Been a Dread fan ever since.
That had to be old Toe's Tavern in Pasadena. Dread Zeppelin played there regularly back in the day
Now, that is a great fucking story!
@@paulgoblet7393 Definitely made an impression. One of the funnest perfect storm events of my life. ✌👽
Elvis actually adds to it because Robert happens to worship Elvis Presley. These guys are priceless to see live. I'll never forget it! They had the whole club's attention the entire time, and we all laughed so much.........it was worth every penny. I also recommend the Jimi Homeless Experience. Party on, people!!
The Jimi what now? *scurries off to search
If you haven't seen the Bob Seger cover band Total BS, you are sadly asleep
Robert Plant you are a class act.
Robert, you're amazing -- great personality; wonderful sense of humor. Love you!!
Honey, I'm probably old enough ta be your daddy...
dread zep played the wauwatosa fest a couple years ago. some friends and I just walked backstage and spent a good hour or more with them. SUPER cool time
Well, unlike so many other bands, Led Zeppelin's music has withstood the test of time and people still love them.
You know you're on to a good thing when you've been endorsed by one of the guys who wrote your stuff. I've been a fan of LZ and DZ for decades. They're both awesome.
We are a tiny but important demographic!
Love plant!!!
They were pretty big in Canada 🇨🇦
Saw them twice live. Awesome, hilarious, transcendent! I've played their stuff for friends and they are either offended or just don't get it. Lighten up and enjoy!!!
never saw them live, never saw any of their videos before today, was listening to some music and thought" I wonder if they have any Dredd Zep" and was pleasantly surprised by how much you tube has. I was turned on to them by a friend way way back when their first album came out, and loved them from the first note. Alot of people don't get it. They think it's just a joke. It is a joke but they are also really good. Original concept that combines three musical things that are great , reggae, Zepplin, and Elvis. 3 great tastes that taste great together, like the fried peanut butter and banana sandwich!
Agreed, the work Jimmy put on the albums is a lot different than his live stuff. Mid to late 70s when he was all smacked up live, his playing was suspect, but man the solo for Good Times Bad Times and the flamenco style acoustic on Babe, I'm gonna leave you is second to none.
heart RP and JP :)
WOOT!
Amen...
You're right. I'm totally agree with you :)
in my opinion the old GNR was great! and I miss them... in the same way I wish I could to see Led Zeppelin before I die... or before they die O_o
Saw the boys live in 91 or 92. They have to be experienced live people! Then you get the complete picture. :P
what a fucking gem of a guy... lol we need more chill musicians like that
The fact that Percy gets it and likes it makes me love both bands that much more
Happy Birthday Robert Plant!
I remember DZ Playing shows around here pretty consistently. Amazing ban with a fun concept.
"and the other guy thinks he's Elvis" hahaha
Robert Plant listening to Dread Zeppelin in his CAR! EPIC!!!
bow bow bow, ba bow bow.heartbreaker!
You speak the truth sir!
I know it would make Dread Zeppelin's day to know that Plant actually likes them.
the guitarist in Dread Zep knows Page inside out... he plays Page licks at different tempos, alludes to Page lines, plays them reggae style. it's amazing...
yes and stairway to heaven cover is a masterpiece in reggae !!
Great
for the last time page was never sloppy on record.what you call sloppy is his way of playing live he never plays a solo the same form night to night...so when he is on he is one of the best and when he is off or misses his mark its so called sloppy..and thats based on his words and my time as a guitar player....
I agree with you. Many people seem to think that a live version should be exactly the same to prove that the band is good. But I think if playing the song with slight variants each time is a mark of a great band. It proves that they haven't just learnt the song exactly the way it's supposed to be, what I mean is the can put a different spin on it at each show. (If any of that makes any sense lol)
nick page he could be sloppy sometimes if he wasn't well but he also could get tones on stage that would make your hair stand
Well said
listening to led zeppelin do mouth guitar noises just like all us die hard fans was something I just didn't know was missing from my life. And yeah - Dread Zeppelin was/is awesome. I was dumbstruck the first time I saw them on Much Music.
I agree.
Immitation, the sincerest form of flattery.
Tortelvis lives!!
Great....
You need to listen to Dread Zeppelin, Un-Led-Ed. A reggae tempo with an Elvis impersonator mixing Led songs With Elvis songs. Great live show.
@GrantGuides Robert does a good Dread Zeppelin impression
A testimony to the everlasting and extensive coolness of this band, that they do not take themselves so serious as to not be able to enjoy a unique show featuring their music.
They themselves were accused of perverting southern blues with heavy metal by some.
Percy's fav now is 'Lez Zeppelin', mine too.
That’s cool he has a good sense of humor about it. I wonder what the remaining Beatles think of Beatallica.
Every think about DZ like Robert...
Dread Zeppelin is another world, level and feeling. Try to find a similar sounding band, you will fail. Plant's opinion about DZ is just cool for me. (:
I'm surprised that he liked them. Good for him.
@antisadism - Rain Song in the final scene of Cemetery Junction. Don't know if Ricky Gervais had to 'beg', but it was a beautiful choice.
the guy dressed as Elvis is he the same person that is on "Ask Elvis" on the Steve Wright show?
This is more of a UK question
Hah, that is so great to see, that he's able to be in such a great band as led zep without taking himself so seriously that he can't appreciate the high art of dread zep, and i bet he realizes that what DZ does is a respectful homage, not a mockery
BAHAHA I LOVE HIM
@hearthbreaker1987 yeah, He dos. I'd like to see what Tortelvis's Throne looks like.
@lhcarter but then he was singing the lyrics to heartbreak hotel so he meant it
Robert and Jimmy have great senses of humor -- no egos about being covered by -- well, by what I wouldn't exactly call a tribute or covered band, but nonetheless, they are okay with it.
Angel Deville hola bonita
@kidcouger
Haha you're right!
I enjoyed the Beavis-n-ButtHead banter towards the end of this epic vid.
lol.. reminds me of a scene from This Is Spinal Tap
@antimarxism don't get shirty. i meant that the guitarist (while obviously playing jimmy page riffs) understands jimmy page and the songs they cover to an incredible degree. he plays riffs in half time, plays trippy melody lines drenched in reverb, and twists and plays with classic jimmy page music with alarming intelligence, and musicality. my point was, this is no mere cover band. if you know the zep songs well, this guys' guitar work will leave you smiling, laughing and gasping in awe...
Richard Lewis or page look alike oh Zoso murray bite me love their band
@gunsdinho Before Dread Zeppelin of course ....
wich ones Dread
He actually meant "Heartbreaker Hotel" in the second part of this interview, not "Black Dog."
Was he saying anything about guns n' roses before??
If yes, du have the video to that??
Cheers!!
just wonderin, why's it openin with the end of the Sweet Child o' Mine music video?
i'm almost too nervous to ask die hard fans, but what's that last song, where they sing that guitar part?
what was the GnR video footage at the beginning for? What did Plant think of GnR?
@guitarttimman You gotta have a sense of humor and realize they are paying tribute while making it fun. You should check out Beatallica also.
Hey! he talked about guns n roses before???
anybody knows??
please tell me!
I love Led Zeppelin and GNR and i really like to know if he said something about them!
Mojo was right. Elvis IS everywhere.
ok!
Can't believe he likes them..Robert has some patience..but hey dread zeppelin are not so bad they do have rythmn! and plus i think robert digs them cause he likes Elvis and there's an Elvis impersonater!
@guitarttimman Do you play an instrument? He is a great guitarist and so talented that the average ear couldnt tell when he was having a bad night. There were times when he was sloppy and he was lucky to have Jones and Bonham help mask it!
Robert plant is love :] (L)
@palbo4 i read and write in english a little but it's very hard to me to understend someone talk in english
@Deliverance02x Its the truth,
@Luukeeeehh I'm confused how does he looked "messed up" do you mean as in drug's???cause if you do, your way off.
He's right haha Dread Zeppelin are so funny.. but a tribute anyway :) Plant is the coolest!
why was guns n roses at the begining of this video?
he looks very messed up here
still love him, one of my idols
now i gotta grab my AX
@kidcouger He is not elvis thats why
It is not about improvising or deviating from the record, but rather as you said making mistakes, Page was not always perfect and I bet he would admit that. I am more talking playing the hammer and trills smoothly, being in sync with the band and keeping your bends in tune. Page is a brilliant guitar player, my favorite of the big 3 (Clapton, Beck, Page), but he was at times sloppy, but hey Rock guitar is not about being perfect, its more about feeling and emotion.
Well, that's the difference between a musician (artist/creator), and a fan (worshipper)
@antisadism Didn't I see a Cadillac commercial featuring 'Rock and Roll'? I thought that was sad...
@TimAsslicker meow!
I wonder if Theoden (Lord of the Rings) looked like Robert Plant as a young king....
@guitarttimman look it up
GNR
man how much like Paul McCartney does he sound and act like even his mannerisms......
evry1 talks about the elvis fake of dread but wut about the reggae singer that plant mentions?
Ahhh...Bring it on Home?
someone can translate it in italian? please
Plant talks about Guns N' Roses in this interview?
Ah, i feel you on that one. I like metal, but 80's glam-metal, what the hell was with that?!
They're a Led Zep tribute with a sense of humor. What's not to like?
@valkour22 sucks when someone tries to smear your reputation in a public format eh?!! ha ha ha ha . ha ha ha ha
what happen?
properlly ...
You maybe right sistamophine, Bob has a great sense of humour and loves Elvis.
One more thing, where do you think Page came up with the DADGAD tuning that so many give him credit for? Answer, Davey Graham. Does that make Page a thief? Not to me, but Davey doesn't get the credit for it.
lol
thats funny
