Lovely video! About the birds, they probably stayed away from your first DIY birdbath because the bottom was black. As you discovered later on, birds often look for specific water depths to bathe in, and before you put the gravel in they probably thought the water was much too deep!
@@Mochies_are_mandatory They did specify *these* birds- as in the backyard bird feeder/ birdbath birds featured in this video specifically- not speaking of all birds, generally. 😉 I'm sure they understand that there are indeed many birds that do swim.
Totally agree! I shared these with my grown grandsugars who automatically asked where I got it from! Since Dave mentions PBS, they wanted to know when it came on! I figured from that my younger grandsugars would be even more interested! I hope he goes all into it! Would absolutely love to buy & collect the different Becorns!!! Blessings!!!
I absolutely ADORE the magic and positive energy of the becorns. They are free spirits. I wished you also wrote children books and added your amazing drawings and your delicate stories. They would become classics.
That's definitely a great idea!!! ❤️ But I think they should be children's books with his real photography instead of drawings. Kids love real life nature photos... But these would have his whimsical twist and creative storyline!!
I wish my grandmother was alive to see your channel - it is everything I loved about her. She loved wildlife and wee folk. She taught us to make our own toys with items from the woods. Mostly we made homes in roots, etc. Becorns would be JUST the wee folk she'd have loved.
I LOVE that Becorns are wandering around the remote forests where people haven't found their way to. Their world may be challenging when they have to defend against the squirrels, but still magical and forever interesting. 🥰

So adorable as always!! 💕 I would’ve maybe gone with a Becorn with an umbrella (maybe a little mushroom or a leaf like in animal crossing) either shielding itself from the splashing bird, or maybe laughing as it does so 😊

Great video! Birds don’t care about the colour of the bath (black creates less algae growth), birds care about the depth and like a lot of humans, are leery about jumping into unknown water and prefer to wade in gradually until they know that the water depth is not a hazard. Birds are actually quite good at floating in deeper water if needed, but they still need a way to get out. Most commercial baths are too deep. I hear what you're saying about your favorite photo, but I really like the runner up because the bird does look more in tune with Silas, as if they both splashed water at the same time to let it all rain back down each other. And then you've got this red bird in the background that's out of focus, but looking like its about to hop in with a cannonball and blow them away. I'm also a fan of the cooler color pallet it has.
I try to always encourage people to care for a birdbath. It's such a delight, even if you live next to a natural body of water. They love their own secluded spot. So sweet! We have a birdbath right outside our front windows and my husband and I love to watch the birds taking a dip or getting a nice drink during our hot Texas summers. We especially love this family of Blue Jays that visit daily...I never really knew how beautifully their tail feathers are patterned, just so majestic!
My husband and I moved into a cabin in the woods and when we first saw the place there were a TON of acorns on the ground and decks. So we named the place Acorn Falls. Then I saw, on instagram, one of your pictures and fell in love. I am now the proud owner of two of your pictures!! Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your talents with us.
Lovely video! About the birds, they probably stayed away from your first DIY birdbath because the bottom was black. As you discovered later on, birds often look for specific water depths to bathe in, and before you put the gravel in they probably thought the water was much too deep!
I think so too, and deep dark water often has predators lying in wait.
These birds can’t swim, so they def need a place to land before being able to splash around :-)

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ! ! ! Thank you for sharing the Becorns adventures !
So sweet! We have a birdbath right outside our front windows and my husband and I love to watch the birds taking a dip or getting a nice drink during our hot Texas summers. We especially love this family of Blue Jays that visit daily...I never really knew how beautifully their tail feathers are patterned, just so majestic!
These becorns are absolutely adorable, your creativity and respect for nature is lovely to see.
This is so adorable! I love watching birds splash around and with the Becorn buddy playing along, it's over the top special!
