- Peepal Baba has been planting trees since the year 1977, when he was just 11 years old. He planted his first Peepal tree on 26th January 1977, which is his birthday, and the Republic Day of India. 45 years later, he is still going strong, having planted and preserved 1.27 crore Peepal trees (also called Ficus religiosa, sacred fig, bodhi tree), and planting several lakh trees every year with his organization @givemetreestrust
The peepal tree holds a very important place in Indian spirituality, and in religions like Hinduism and Buddhism.

Swami Prem Parivartan aka Peepal Baba is synonymous with the planting and preservation of the peepal tree. Since 1977, he has planted and preserved more than 12.5 million peepal trees.
He is the founder of Give Me Trees, which is the largest volunteer based tree planting and preservation organizations in India. Give Me Trees has planted and preserved more than 20 million trees across India.

मैं एक अपार्टमेंट में रहती हूं जिसमे एक भी पेड़ नही है। मैं पिछले दो साल सोसाइटी वालो को कहती हूं पेड़ लगाने के लिए तो वो लोग झगड़ने लगते है और पेड़ लगाने के नुकसान बताने लगते है। और में दुखी हो जाती हूं की ये लोग पर्यावरण के बारे में कुछ भी नही जानते, क्या कोई तरीका है जो इन लोगो को भी जागरूक कर सके, और मेरा अपार्टमेंट भी हरा भरा और सुदर दिखे।

Today on the way I saw two big people trees marked for cutting for road widening and trees are more than 40 years of age how can we trasfere them …
Not many are blessed with planting peepul trees specially.
400 trees can grow in 1 hecatre...1 cr needs 10000 hecatres..where is this much land , site visit possible? Any way i salute even 10000 trees survived.. luckily i have planted around 1000 trees only 500 survived like kanak champa, sejhan, mahogony,

I don't know him personally....but came to this video when I got disheartened by reading today's newspaper abt great nicobar project .....I felt so sad abt 9lakh tress that I really wanted to do something...which landed me to this video and I know what to do for sure ...tq for such initiatives ...which gives us courage and ideas to do something different

@Peepal Baba we can regrow trees as much as want, today there is one more big Issue thats causing bigger damage on our planet and especially in India. That's Minning, quarrying of Mountains, minerals extractation - which we can't regrow like trees. But this is causing plenty plenty 1million times more damage than trees. example of Implication rising temperatures in Delhji

I really appreciate his work for plantation but I think 1.27 crore is over hyped n practically not possible still I really wish people sud follow n plant more n more trees.
My grandfather would never let anyone cut trees, he had planted banyan peepul, shikakai etc, now all are felled by his son's.. The village which was evergreen is a barren land..

Kindly make video with full details. Like how to procure land and how they took care once the tree is planted.... I mean it takes atleast 3 years for a tree to become self-care capable.
