explaination for the glitch at 18:05 Basically since TF2 user the same engine as Half-life and Portal, it uses the same falling system, where when falling, it doesnt calculate how fast your falling, but how *long* your falling, and calculates that to your falling spped, which is why he takes fall damage.
That is simply not true. We spread a little misinformation on the internet? You get more fall damage the higher velocity you hit the ground. That's why you when you airshot someone on the head near the ground, they still crater because the explosion sent them flying downwards at a high velocity. If what you say would be true, then you would not be able to mitigate fall damage shooting a rocket at your feet before landing. And so much more other things.
Fun fact about The Bison: It does less damage normally, around 11-24, but hitting an enemy at certain angles and at certain distances can cause the penetration to trigger twice, causing 2x the damage.
I love the bison so much, cause while it's "weak", it does put you in a very different mindset when trying to use it. Visually the projectile looks slow, but it's actually very slightly faster than a rocket, flying at 1200 hammer units compared to a rocket's 1100. Getting used to and understanding this speed can make it honestly a pretty powerful follow-up weapon (as seen in the video) due to how much damage it can do to someone who's trying to run away A lot of people have out there ideas for how to balance the bison, but honestly all it needs is to have no damage falloff, and maybe buff the projectile hitbox a bit (it's tiny compared to the visual) and it'd be as good as the shotgun is
Oh shit I just made a very similar comment. Realizing the bison fired basically as fast as stock rockets helped my aim immensely. Stock pipes are 1216. They have the arc, but leading your aim horizontally will be almost identical between the bison and pipes. I find the bison to be kinda fun. have to disagree personally. medic feels too "random" to me. sometimes you'll get a nice fun match where your team actually acknowledges your sheer existence, and keeps you alive, just like you keep them, but 'sometimes' plays an important role here. sometimes you'll get a good team, sure, but most of the time your team will consist of people treating you as if you are an ai, a walking dispenser with no soul, if you will. its infuriating barely making it out of the battlefield alive to heal a soldier with like 11 hp, just for him to show his gratitude by leaving you for death as an enemy scout approaches. not even mentioning these scouts that come ask for a heal, and instead of standing still so i can heal them with the crossbow, they decide the best idea is jump and run around me like a mosquito forcing me to slowly heal them with the medigun. and even if the team is semi good, most of the time you wont be thanked at all for your work. im forcing myself to play the most defenseless class in the game just to keep y'all alive, and all i get in return is a voiceline that is coded to play from time to time whenever you heal someone, so they dont even thank you directly. deadass all i would need is someone using the 'thanks' voiceline and nodding to me. one of the most painful parts of playing medic is that sometimes you'll be forced to heal people from your team that are actual doichebags and assholes. there's nothing more disappointing than making a beutiful push while ubering someone, keeping them alive, them keeping you, just for them to start yelling racial slurs and telling someone to kill themselves because of the class they're playing. this is not a 9-5 job that i have to attend to to be able to afford food, i wont be forcing myself to heal someone that doesn't deserve it. i gotta give it to medic tho, he's extremely fun on mvm

It may be Stockholm Syndrome but I've kinda come around to the bison. It has no fall-off so it's soldier's only long distance weapon, it can't be reflected or short circuited, you can spam it down corridors for area denial as you move up, infinite ammo is nice because you'll be spamming it a lot. After shooting bison directly at an invis spy that you could only see after hitting him with the rocket immediatly after. Ultra instinct game sense ig?
edit: he literally bumped into him prior to those shots (old version of this reply was wrong)
@@pinkddpat Yeah I don't see it
@@kami3989well its there so idk what to tell you, you might just be blind
@@pinkddpat I'll take your word for it. I'm sure you conducted a frame by frame analysis, giga glazer!
@@kami3989 my reply disappeared but here you go yet again: 3:26 the spy bumps into voro to the right of the screen and can be visible for like.. 5 frames
ironic, it took 10 seconds to find the exact frames by literally using the hotkeys youtube has for frame skipping
Edit: he was visible for way more than 5 frames its simply harder to see since the viewmodel covers a lot of it alongside voro's viewpoint + you can literally see the screen jitter since he BUMPED into him causing him to lose SOME velocity
that doctor is either a bot which ive seen exist or a new player
It may be Stockholm Syndrome but I've kinda come around to the bison. It has no fall-off so it's soldier's only long distance weapon, it can't be reflected or short circuited, you can spam it down corridors for area denial as you move up, infinite ammo is nice because you'll be spamming it a lot. It has some handy benefits.
Also one tip that helped my aim immensely is when I found out that the projectile is 1200 hu/s and stock rockets are 1100, stock pipes are 1216. So just aim it like you're going for directs with stock and you'll hit the majority of your shots.
i remember camping few kids with liberty launcher and they unironically said "tryhard camping with an op weapon"
just shows the mentality of bad players that if youre good enough even a bad weapon is OP
other example being me getting hackusated because i had dominated a kid with a sydney sleeper
Holy shit, Voro makes The Bison look amazing and genuinely fun to use. HOW??
as someone who plays as the official dr.grordbort in tf2 i approve of your use of bison
dude no wonder you were cracked, even with the bison
sick that you and jhp got to fight against him lol
