Teens Get National Award for Saving Kids From Drowning

- Jasmine and JaCora Lashale Morris were honored with the prestigious Carnegie Medal. Last winter, Jasmine, 15, and her 17-year-old sister Jacora looked up from their phones and saved two lives. The girls say they were watching TikTok videos when they looked out the 3rd-story window of their Des Moines, Iowa, home. They saw some children in trouble. Authorities were on their way but Jasmine and Jacora felt the fate of these children was in their hands.

Bravo to these incredible sisters! The fact that they looked up from their phones is unheard of these days, but then to go to save another human being! Bless these 2 wonderful young people and the people that raised them! May they be an example to everyone of all ages to help each other when we can!

A girl I knew from school saved an old man from house fire.
She said her and her friend thought he was grilling food and were going to ask him for some but I think she was just using that to cover up for her heroism.
She was awarded something by the city but I don't remember what it was

15 years ago a kid in my neighborhood and I were fishing in my backyard. I lived on a small lake. He spotted 2 toddlers across the lake. Drowning drowning. He took off like a bat out of hell running around the lake. Mind you, he is about 6 foot 4 and black as hell. He pulled the children out of the lake administered CPR and brought them back to life. They were purple when the cops got there. All they said to him was that's a get out of free j. R jailfree card. I looked at the cop and I said this boy is only 17. He's never been to jail. Why would you say something like that? The dad and his friend were inside asleep. I screamed at the dad. This man just saved your children's lives. They would have been deand the guy said anything whatever you want and the heroic teenager said well, can I borrow your boat to float around the small lake? And the guy said sure, 30 minutes later, he was calling in any one of his got.Any recognition from the city or the county or the cops or the sheriff or anything?
I think he deserves an award.He saved 2 children.He saved their life
