Thanks for watching everyone and BIG THANKS for getting us so close to 100k subscribers!!
On another note, it has been brought to our attention that (contrary to Toyota's own press release) some versions of the Tundra SR and SR5 do still come with a regular key, not the Smart Key system as stated in the video. Thanks for your understanding!
Car Confections y’all are so welcome!!! And congrats on 100k subscribers!! I love y’all much!!! I can’t wait for Toyota to come out with their first Electric cars!
You forgot to mention that there is no antenna. It’s now a shark fine type on top of the cab.
Benz truck
Idk why I did not realize the tundra had push button start before the third gen.
also, what about gas tank size options - do you know? Thanks guys.
Three Tundras with over a million miles. Amazing reliability.
simplicity and reliability at its finest. and none of that fancy tailgate crap that these other trucks have these days🤧
@coffeeinthemorning More innovation and technology would just add to the overall cost. You don't need all the technology and innovation, they just tell you you do, and you believe them. You're parents got by just fine without all of the extra's when you were a kid.
htavasysymmot I hope there reliable!... the tundra been the same shit for 14 damn years🙄
In my opinion this truck is very dependable truck
@@klappy803 My parents drove a lot of older cars and some classics and that's how I learned to accept "outdated" technology on cars. My father never liked "up to date technology" and he said if it had less computers the car was easier to repair. If it has a lot of computers you need a computer specialist to come and repair it which will just take more time and cost more money. Besides people need to learn how to back up without back up cameras.
coffeeinthemorning I’d rather have my car last me 15 years rather then having back up cameras, big displays consoles, tailgate gadgets etc lol
My boyfriend has a GMC Sierra elevation 2017 and we’ve already been having some issues with it whereas my 2007 Toyota is still going strong lol
I'm still over here with my 2008 Tundra. Still love it.
I just traded my 2008 TRD in for a 2019 platinum. The sad thing is, my truck was paid off, had 120000 miles and still ran wonderfully. All I had to do with my 2008 is replace the battery and the starter. GREAT truck except for the "JBL upgrade" which I think is a downgrade. it sounds like turds.
Still here with an 07
Still have my loaded doublecab 2007 with 139k miles. Been riding it on bad starter forever just never replaced it yet but I have it. Have the towiing package and 4.10 rear gears. When I see the inside of a 2020 tundra I see almost everything I see in my 2007. The 5.7 liter engine which I have is still the top motor size u can get which is another reason I didnt get a newer one. I'm just fibd with my loaded one with every option which is on my channel
Just bought my first Toyota, always been a Ford (truck) guy. Gotta say the Tundra 4x4 XPS is a BEAST ! Added the TRD intake and exhaust....Love it
Fantastic review. The most detailed Tundra review I’ve seen. Great job
Much appreciated!
I have an ‘08 Tundra with 150,000 miles. Same truck. Still runs like new. I like the low tech. Less stuff to break.
Any issues at all? I'm thinking about trading my 2014 ram sport. It's been a lemon. Spent $4500 on repairs in the last 6 months
196,000 miles on my 2007 5.7V8. Never had a single issue, did all maintenance on time, changed trans and diff oil every 50,000 cuz I tow a lot. Tundra motor and transmission are bullet proof. Time to trade up to the 2020, love the 5.7 motor
@@tonytony6225 I have 2008 Limited 5.7 TRD with 285,000 miles. Still runs but I am getting this truck with 7k miles. Based on the last truck should last me till 2036, lol.
I love the 2020 Toyota Tundra!!! It’s very nice! Toyota makes good cars!!!
And trucks too
Couple reliability with the C channel frame that's easy to restore, blast and refinish...you could have this truck easy for a lifetime. Dream truck right here.
This is all it needs in my opinion. Maybe a rear locking diff too but overall Toyota did a great job. I cant wait to see what the all new 2021 Tundra has!
@Tony Brown Still reliable, still simple, and still capable
What about the 2022
Who cares if this truck is dated, I like it
Bullet proof drivetrain... solid and reliable truck! That's what I want in a truck!
I got it down to this
If the truck looks good
Runs good
Performs good
And is reliable
That’s all I want. I don’t need any of those dumb safety features because I actually know how to drive!
coperpot100 😂😂
Hello great video connfections. Also compare limited & 1794 edition. And platinum & limited!
Thank you.
Great video ty for all the Tundra updates, gotta love the Tundra 👍😊...
Thanks!
I love my 2014 Limited. That 5.7L is awesome.
I feel like they strategically released the push button start and infotainment updates to move the last of the 2020s before the new generation comes out.
My Tundra is a TRD 4x4 Sport with factory matching bumpers
Solid look 👍 great review D&M
Awesome overview/review! Thanks for posting!
Glad you enjoyed!
Four years ago today, This still a best truck.
And still four months later. Lol.
2001 v8 first gen over 300,000 all original. Still a beast going fishing Saturday. It’s still a lively truck very strong
Great Review love the Tundra time for it to be redesign though
They finally woke up with the smart key entry should have been added back in 2014, I like where it is at right now especially the LED headlights and features. Id like to see full LED including turn signals and rear lights, the competition all offer that right now.
Jordan Eric Collum yeah, but go ahead and look up how much these LED headlights cost. Just for ONE.
Love it...glad it retains that V8...nice review as usual guys 😀🤙 Yes!! an optional moon roof....i can get a Tundra without a damn moonroof👍
Thanks!
I hear they are moving to a hybrid in next year or two :/
@@franklinsaltchuck2455 Yeah I like it but if theres no V8 ill have to pass
Yes love this truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Howdy, great review as always! Now that they have upgraded the tech, this would be a perfect truck, however I do think they should offer a heated steering wheel and a few more amenities for the rear passengers.😸😻😸😸😻
Fun fact: if you press the lock button a few times and then hold for about 5-7 seconds it will remote start your tundra even though it doesn’t technically have that option
Very nice job guys
Thanks!
Just purchased a 2020 Tundra Limited Crew. Love it. Traded of my 2018 Tacoma. Loved my Taco, but HATED the seats.
Cora the Kat enjoy it!
So it’s 2023 and just bought a 2020 ltd. With 33k on it . Looks , sounds , drives great. Looking forward to a long term relationship:-)
Love the Tundra. Great review.. Subbed & Liked.
Thanks! We really appreciate that, especially since we are getting so close to 100k subs!
Some USB ports and heated seats for the rear passengers would have been nice. A heated wheel also would’ve been a nice addition.
Man I'm liking this truck
Just bought a 2020 Tundra sr5 crewmax in cement. I changed out the interior lights to led , license plate light , cargo light, and had a remote start put in with a putco led bar. In the near future I'm doing the oem toyota headlights / fogs . Last will be some Trd blacked out rims. Then I'll just sit back as the truck racks up 300 400 thousand. .
That bouncy ride is what I like. Its fun
Just bought a 2020. Traded in my 07 250k miles only replaced the starter. Great truck. To say the Tundra hasn’t changed isn’t true. I feel there’s a big difference overall from my 07. Mileage is a little weak but not as bad as some say. So far I really like the truck. Only complaint is I wish it still had a CD player.
Love that truck 👍🏻
New Tundra in 2021!!!! Everyone will be happy.................
Perfact pickup nice
Are all these trucks good for offroading? I wanna get the sr since the ground clearence on all of them is virtually the same
Edit: this is for the 2021 versions. The higher priced models have a 10.6 clearence compared to a 10.6 clearence
I think they need to add back under seat storage
I want to request toyota all new 4runner 2019 thanks...
I wish they had a 6ft bed on the crewcab.
Every car I've driven and owned was the most long luxurious car you could ever get so I'm used to old-fashioned even Toyota's luxury is too much for me. But I choose Toyota's old fashioned look any day because that's what I'm used to. All I care about is reliability and durability
The biggest issue with this truck is that if you buy one that is 10 years old and park in next to a new one, there is very little changes to it. Sometimes this can be a bad thing, especially when many buyers like change, but for Toyota I think it is a good thing. The platinum looks a bit too plain for me though. I have an '18 1794, so far I have installed a Banks supercharger, exhaust, tweaked the programming on the tranny, and it has actually improved my fuel mileage. I do not understand why Toyota has to run 4 cat converters when most states only require 1-2. The engine in this truck is a beast and I can only imagine how it would perform if Toyota decided to come out with a 700-800 hp version. I would definitely buy one.
Am I the only one who thinks the redesign will be late 2021 and called a 2022? Well see what Toyota shows up with at the Chicago Auto Show.
Does the limited have front parking censors?
Lovely Toyota
I think it should’ve gotten a full redesigned
Next year it will
.."Now the moment you've all been waiting for..uh...10 years, push to start" lol... you killed me there lol. Good video tho
😂
2020 Tundra or Nissan Titan? Having a tuff time with this one.....
I love my tundra 2020 V8 # 1
My guess is that this is a fire sale model to get rid of the remaining parts they've already manufactured to make room for the 2021 which will be a redesign.
Jacob Kidd I hope your guess is correct, I’m looking forward to what the 2021 redesign will be like!
wOw that was sick though
I love my 2019 Tundra
do you any problem until now? cuz i am thinking of buying 1794 edition 2020.
Helal Saif hi no I have no problem with the engine what’s so ever it’s a beast the only thing I had a little problem was my radio for some reason it didn’t want to pair with my cell phone 📱 but I took it into Toyota and they replaced it and now it’s just working. IDK they said it was my cell phone 📱 who’s known only they do.. that was the only little thing I had with mines .. those 1794 are awesome special the interior!! Good luck you won’t regret it please let me know if you get it and what color I’m curious 😊 and remember right now if you buy one it’s going to be a V8 because I think 🤔 the new ones are going to be V6 that’s what I heard but don’t quote me on it ! Enjoy 😉 your new Tundra they are a beast! 😊 have a great day and be safe out there it’s getting pretty bad! Bye.
Veronica Serrato oh thank you very much 😁, I will let u know, when I get my tundra ✨. I will never forget! ✨
Helal Saif that sounds great! 😏 and you’re welcome 😊
2021 Toyota Tundra diesel?
Will you do a video an the 2020 sonata
Yes when the come out!
182.7 inches? What length is that? This Tundra definitely looks longer than that
Get my 20 TRD OFF ROAD in September. One thing...since Tundra sells low, more exclusive.
What color is this model?
I was wondering do you think I could install the JBL on my new 2019 truck
the double cab or crewmax?
Crewmax
It’s a Tundra 4x2 SR5
@@veronicaserrato9827 yeah it looks like it might be possible, i'm not too sure of it myself but i found a video that might help ruclips.net/video/0YGHsD94Fek/видео.html
Dorian Asllanaj thanks
I'm heard that Toyota tundra 2019 and 2020 they remove extra transmission oil cooler, I recently bought a new 2020 I'm very worried it loses reliability, it will bring me problems in the future
I wouldnt worry about it.
This is a great video, though I wouldn't call it a "review", more of an in-depth overview. Which is actually better to be honest, let viewers make their own opinions.
That's the idea! We provide the info and people use that to make up their own minds 👍
You should do a 2007 vs 2020
What’s the pricing with the army green new 2020 tundra?
The Amry Green TRD Pro is covered in a separate video
i am just waiting for the redesign tundra to come
Great video. Why didn’t you talk about the 2020 TRD PRO? That’s my favorite model. Also, how do you lock the tailgate if there is no physical key?
Power locking tailgate
I'm love the durability of my tundra but the front and rear needs a new look. Maybe with a little more aggressive because It's getting boring. Please keep up with GMC and keep us your customers happy.
Hi I love your videos but I have one question ! Recently I purchase a 2019 Toyota Tundra and I noticed that when I start to drive it and i push the gas pedal i hear like a thump or a sound is that normal?
🤔hmm it's hard to say since idk what kind of thump we're talking about. Is it only after you first take off after startup or every time?
Car Confections every time I start and leave but I went to Toyota the delar and I test 2 more Toyota Tundras and it did the same thing they say it’s nothing bad so I’m most relaxed after I tested 2 more
ABS self test.
Brenden6 oh so it’s Anti lock system
Thank you
I second that, it is the brake system doing some sort of self check
Btw, just curious, what do you two drive daily? 🤔
We have a Toyota Camry and a Hyundai Elantra
@@CarConfections nice 👍
@@CarConfections guess u didnt get the Stinger then? found your vid on it just now 😁.
Yea ok. Here’s the thing. I’ve got a 17 and love it. 2 things. They waited that long to go keyless and that’s the key fob they go with !?!? And why tf did they remove the altoids/ gum holder directly behind the shifter!? Also I love my 17 but fuuuuuuufk it’s dated. Needs more powah babea! Also the interior needs a total upgrade.
Ill take reliability anytime , anyday over fancy updates. Gas could be better in my 2020 but it is what it is ..chances of numerous service runs highly unlikely
No trd pro?
I was about to get the 2020 until I heard about the 2021 redesign ...12 inch screen and a redesigned front end...I haven't heard too much about the engine or trans....
Where did you hear about that Peter?
Does it have Blind spot monitoring?
Yes
54k on the tundra you get top of the line and for Chevy you’re still only getting the RST model with less features....I’ll take the tundra
Actually, my dealer has 2020 Silverado LTZs with more features that are the same cost or only a couple of thousand dollars more than the Tundra.
The lack of the grab handle on the driver's side has me mystified. I now ASSUME Toyota feels it's OK to grab the steering wheel to yank your butt into the truck. And, it will not cause any problems after years of use to the steering wheel or electronics in the wheel. But no one seems to know if that's true or not.
Gregory S I never understood the outcry about this. I’ve never needed a grab handle
Great job!! I will only buy Toyota , especially after owning a Chrysler fiat vehicle!! Toyota all the way
Thanks!
@Tony Brown not in quality
@Tony Brown in repair costs maybe. But in reliability, the Tundra is better.
Ya it’s dated it’s a truck I’d buy it because of that but I wish they would try to improve the mpgs and maybe the power a little on this thing they’re so extremely hard on gas it’s unbelievable for a 2020 truck it’s just as bad as the obs Chevy I had
Is that a puddle light on the bottom at 3:33?
Yes
I'm glad it doesn't have running boards
Same body style
$54,599 in 2020. It cost $70k now and it doesn’t even last 100k miles.
You didn’t mention anything about trd prob
We talk about the TRD Pro in a separate dedicated video!
does anyone know if toyota has fixed the "cam tower oil leak" ?? (google it)
Toyota did a pretty nice job updating the interior. I just want them to update the power train now. The 5.7L and 4.6L V8s, while durable, are old as hell. Toyota has a much newer 5.0L V8 which they could easily tune to put out more torque and get better gas mileage. The 6 speed transmission is also extremely outdated with Ford and GM using 10 speeds and Ram using an 8 speed
Old school, tried, proven and true. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Moe Anthony I’d say the fuel economy is pretty broken. In every application, the 5.7 gets horrendous gas mileage, while every competitor with a V8 gets several MPG better and they have more power. Toyota’s new 5.0 has no reason to be less durable and reliable than the 5.7
Im worried that the 5.0 would be underpowered and sound mediocre like Fords 5.0 sounds. I will take the shit fuel economy for a true V8.
@@Jaymac720 Wait a bit for proven reliability
@@andybub45 yep
Interior looks very dated, however that being said it is still a very nice truck
Im the FiRST!!!!!
Nice job haha
$55,000 is a lot of money. BUT it is worth it to have something that you can drive for 20 years. None of the BIG 3 are able to do that. They are junk.
coffeeinthemorning well of course not. Tundra hasn’t been around for 20 years.
@Tony Brown this is true but not outdated. I'd drive an 80s Chevy around if I could.
😍🤩😎
14 MPG.
lol lane departure warning and automatic braking... You could of just said training wheels.
How much?
Pricing is at the end of the video
What’s the point of having dual climate control if it changes for both sides ???
It's synced in the video but it doesn't have to be the same temp
2020 titan pro 4x wins this in every catagory..
Not quality tho
Definitely not RELIABLITY, titan is an absolute joke and if u gave me one id sell it
Needs an 8 spd for better mpgs while cruising
Where power meets reliability
A more fuel efficient V8 engine, twin panel moonroof, heated rear seats, 400 watt power inverter for charging laptops and power folding running boards would be great options.
Remote start?
Only with the Toyota Remote Connect phone app and service. There's no remote start button on the fob. So, you have to pay for annual service which I think is around $80/year. You can also get other vehicle data from the app.
@@Arnamus73 you can on some vehicles, with a certain button combo on the key fob.
Key fob remote start on the Limited
welome to 2015 toyota
We wish Toyota can just make the Tundra: 4 full size doors with the 8.1 long bed! 😫 5.7L V8! I know it would get more customers to buy more Tundras
A crewmax with a 8 foot bed? Do you want this to be a semi truck or something? I can see a 6 foot bed with the crewmax but 8 foot is too big. Nobody offers that.
6ft bed with crewmax would be perfect. I always wish for that.
Awesome truck but the start button looks like Toyota just slapped it on. Doesn’t look good and is out of place
