Hey Mr Salles, two question for a lit question do you have to talk about the extract you are given or can you talk about the play as a whole? Secondly, do you have to talk about both interpretations of the novel, the normal interpretation and the the alternative?
Ways write about the whole text. Make sure to include some quotations from the extract. Use more than one interpretation where it is relevant to the question, so you can evaluate which is best.
Hello Mr Salles, with other Literature texts such as Jekyll and Hyde, the main message has been always linked to with repressed homosexuality, with LOTF what would be the main message of the play in you eyes- which is an alternative interpretation of the novel? Also sir, have you made a video on context in LOTF? I can't seem to find it, it is not any worry at all if there it isn't one. Lastly, would you mention all the quotes you have discussed in the video? And how would you structure an essay? My teacher always says beginning middle and end for LOTF? Would you agree?
@@MrSallesTeachesEnglish I also heard that the island the boys were stranded on symbolizes the Garden of Eden. The killing of Simon as metaphorical of the killing of Jesus. Piggy’s death is a metaphor for the Jewish Holocaust. And Jack is a representation of anti-semitic leaders like The Romans and the Nazis. For example.
@@KenMasters. you make an interesting point about society being like this without god, however you must also take into account the many Christians and other religions that actively oppress others because 'god said so'. loads of Christians use their religion to justify their own bigoted beliefs rather than remembering that god said to love everyone and treat everyone as your equals. So the previous reply about how society is like this despite god is probably more correct. Although both are very good points.
Thank you so much i had to write a paper on religious allegory in LOTF and this helped
Looking at literature later as well
Great Video man thanks!
Do you have any predictions on what is going to come up in the exam For 2015?

@@MrSallesTeachesEnglish That's great thanks.
Hey Mr Salles, I just wanted to ask if you can and should talk about structure in an LOTF essay like in a Jekyll and Hyde or Macbeth essay?
If it is an extract question, then it helps to locate the extract within the structure. Otherwise, always write about the ending.
@@MrSallesTeachesEnglish OK thanks.

I haven't made a separate context video. Your teacher's method works - I would say build your argument moving through the novel chronologically.
@@MrSallesTeachesEnglish Is there a specific place to look for context that you would recommend which fits your version of the novel?
If AO3 context isn't assessed, are we still able to talk about biblical allusions? Thank you so much!
Yes
@@MrSallesTeachesEnglish Thank you. Also, can we really make the point that he's mocking transubstantiation or God if he himself was a Christian?
Thank you
Are you a Christian too?
Lord of the Flies is the perfect example of what a pagan and primitive society truly is without God.
Perhaps, though Jack led the choir, and Simon is transubstantiated like Jesus. Perhaps this is what society is like despite God?
