"All the seats were occupied" I take it as a connotation at the "Apocalypse", Christ second coming on your judgment that you didn't make the cut. I have the full original vinyl given to me in 1985 by a Sgt while stationed in West Germany. It totally expanded my horizons in music. This is the greatest original concept album ever!
This is a predominantly political album. Its subject is the political/social events in Europe and the US, during the late 60s and the begining of the 70s. The biblical Apocalypse concept is used as a pretext. One needs to pay close attention to the lyrics and also "read between the lines" to realise this.
I still remember hearing this album for the first time. Cours d’été, Université Laval, Pavillon Konninck cafeteria Summer 1973. The first track I heard was “The Four Horsemen.” Unforgettable! 🖖
There is a Japanese SACD version of it, if you have probleme to found it on vinyl, i warmly recommend it because it sound exactly like the mastertape without any remastering bullshit added.
No worry.. I had and still have the same memory of bomb alerts over Coventry.. nuclear warnings.. this band was supreme in its message of confusion and hope and still is x
This is a reference to ''Hell's Angels", the guys on the Harley Davidson motorcycles, one of whom stabbed another guy to death during the Altamont free concert in 1969. Hence the track titled Altamont on the album.
It is the cover of the 1977 UK reissue. The original ''the Omen'' film was a major box office success just a few months before and record company executives obviously thought that to put on the front of the cover the three sixes as shown in the film's child antichrist's head, was a good idea.. commercially speaking.
Massively underrated. A friend of mine showed me this on an old Vinyl once. I hope I never forget the first time I heard it.
Once you have discovered Aphrodites Child you will never get enough of it...

Absolutely insane, this song is life and death, the devil and the messiah. You will never see music being full of this quality ever again!
you are so right man..!
we have to keep this music alive, if you know what i mean..
Great to have the vinyl uploaded. The remastered version is literally unlistenable.

Αυτό το υβρίδιο μεσογειακής χριστιανικής ψυχεδέλειας που βγαίνει ορισμένες στιγμές στο album είναι μοναδικό, στο είδος του.
