Today I'll be talking about my experience so far commuting back and forth to University. I know not everyone has the option to live at home instead of in dorms, but I wanted to share my experience with those of you who are currently deciding where to go for university.

Thank you for this! I'm going to uni this fall for the first time and I needed to hear this bc I rlly decided to stay at home since my uni is only 20 mins away driving and an hour a day if i take the bus

Hi Elouiza! This video was super helpful for me as I’m going through the same situation myself now where I am planning on commuting to university in September. You mentioned that you have a part time job while you are at uni. If you don’t mind, would you do a video on your tips and ads/disads of working whilst at uni??? I know I’m gonna need to get a job while I’m there but I have no idea what kind of jobs work/how many hours a week would be suitable?? That would be really helpful! Thank you Xx

I live around 1 hour and 30 mins away by train from the uni, I don’t mind travelling for this long but will it be an issue ?

Was the commuting tiring ? Would it make you less productive in any way ?
Yes. It depends on how the commute is though lol. If it's an 45 mins or over, reconsider. You're not gonna have the "typical" college experience. However, when you're working, you're gonna abe commuting everyday. It can definitely affect you're productivity, especially with studying.
Would I miss out on the uni experience if I commute instead of living there?
Y P you wouldn’t at all, it’s more about making sure you go that extra way to create your own experience !
ElouizaUpLifts is it easy making friends there?
Y P well I think in any situation when you’re forced to make friends it will be hard , I don’t think it will differ to someone who lives in halls as many people are in the same position as you. I had to just go for it and sit with people in lecture halls and I joined groups on fb for people who commute and met up with them at uni. Eventually things will fall into place for you even if it takes a while..I became close to my uni friends at the beginning of second year
