Aint God good!!!!!! Aint God good!!!!!! HE BROUGHT ME OUT OF DARKNESS AND INTO HIS MARVELOUS LIGHT! LET THE LORD STRENGTHEN YOU AND DISCIPLE YOU. JUST LIKE JESUS MOLDED AND SHAPED AND GATHERED THE DISCIPLES WE NEED MOLDED AND SHAPED AND POURED INTO BY THE HOLY SPIRIT AND STRONG CHURCH FAMILY. BEING IN A CHURCH HOME THAT IS GOD ORDAINED IS SO IMPORTANT BECASUE #1 YOU ARE WORSHIPPING GOD TOGETHER. Hallelujah💜For me this will never be old. Reminds me of my early childhood and young adult days. My beginnings was in a Primitive Baptist Church. I reminisce now a lot about those days, singing in A cappella , washing feet and prayer meetings. So many traditions that are now absent from church worship. Prayer was constant!!!
I miss my youthful days at Shady Grove AME Zion, where my Aunt Molly on the piano belting out hymnals like this. FOOT STOMPING, HAND CLAPPING JOY🥲🥲🥲👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Yes Yes Yes indeed and I don't know!!! I remembered this ole time religion singing and dancing 😂😂😂 my grandma's,moma auntee's use to hymn sing have good church seem like it was all day and then it was time to eat that good ole fashion home cooked 😋 food.i didn't understand back then but by God grace and mercy today wooow 😯 it's a pleasure to think back and a blessing to go far back in to time like That 😂😊😊... County Times!!! #Thatswussup??? My my my Lord
I remember this kind of service in the old churches way back in the country. Even after the songs would end people would still be patting the floor with their feet. So amazing.
When your faith is kept and believed ❤️❤️❤️ I love the old-school gospel. They were serious, especially asking the congregation do they know Jesus & if not they would you like to saved . While at the same time singing these types of songs. They didn’t force them to sing until whoever came up but it made more people come to Christ than than now💯💯💯 Memories of “95-97”
Back in the 80s, We sang like this at my dad's church when the organist had other obligations and couldn't make it to service. We may have sounded like we were on the plantation try'na get away from massa, but MAAN, you could sho nuff feel the spirit. I miss those days!!
This song popped in my head today and had to search...this reminds me of my early days at church in Pensacola Florida...Mars hills Baptist Church..the older people use to kill it!..no instruments, just good ol clapping, feet stomping and "sanging"...miss this!!!!...
Oh my…. This brings back so many good memories of my childhood years, in my Baptist church…. All A cappella singing. Such down home soulful songs..good old fashioned Baptist churches didn’t need music….glory to GOD! Hallelujah!🙏🏾
unfortunately some of the youngsters are changing this old time Primitive Baptist to what they call "Progressive" with their drums, guitars, pianos, the noise that clouds, this real authentic sound. All these folks had a hardwood floor, the clapping hands,
The historic Primitive Worship Method should continue, change is not always the right thing to do. The Bible is unchangeable, some things should never change. This may be the last time... Amen!
Primitive,,,haven't you heard or read, a day in the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years is as a day life is as a vapor that cannot compare to eternity with God
Sometime it's good to back home. Cause it may be the last time. The circle and rock could be a way of being in the number and become a part of the praise. As today's waving . A church back then could ROCK!
I can hear the ladies’ heels hitting the wood floor & the pews bending from the rocking. I’m 45 years old but this is how Devotion and testimony service would start. Pastor would come out of the study and sit beside the deacons just smiling.
Today is my 67 birthday 05-29-1954. My Brother called me to wish me happy birthday. Before he called from Illinois, this song was played on Jazz24. May be the last time I don't know. Surely great full he called to remember the memories of our family elders.
😭 Yes Lord this may be our last time on this Earth it may be our last time where we can go to church on Sunday or whenever we plan on going to Church that's why it's very important to praise the Lord why you're here and give him praise and accept him in your life because life is too short only few live long thanks be to God 😊
Amen , the God of creation gave man instruments needed to make music 2 strings vocial cords, and a windpipe to use for His praise and glory clapping hands stopping feet. Beautiful true old school song WE just don't know how when where Just be ready for His return 🙏🙏
Well South Carolina is where much of the African part of us still remains due to the Gullah Geechee people. This song and the “ring shout” like movement makes me think they’re part of the reason this movement/style has been somewhat preserved and your overseer probably grew on this and it’s something that’s familiar for him or her
The song is a very old baptist hymn it is sung by both black baptist and also White Appalachians , there a song with the same melody common in Appalachian folklore called "Oh Death" It shows how far reaching African spirituality is within the heart of American worship life ,and its a true common denominator - This is American roots music as pure as you can get
We use to sing this in church when I was younger. I haven’t heard it in a while unless one of the older members, or preacher, starts to sings it. I was raised in in the Baptist way that we had musical instruments for the accompaniment, but this church is rocking it too. We get into it too because it may be our last time...we just don’t know it.
Old school i love this song show love and understanding to each other let people know how much you love them and we all are here for a reason we are educated by each others life ❤
If you listen. It may be my last time. It is FREEDOM Movement song. Students and older people marching for civil rights. GOOGLE slave songs and Black Heritage songs. Mostly sung in the South but also in many city churches Last time because one could get killed.
Powerful song. I got saved 1-18-24... Jesus Is Lord
Hallelujah

The point is that the ring shout is a very important and historical way are ancestors would praise God. Deep spiritual roots, originating in Africa.
