I agree, one of my coworkers told me about it, I'd never heard of it either. I'd like to check it out have heard nice things about it. I'll mention it to my friends.
Hi, I am from Malaysia. One look at this, I have fallen in love with this place. Indeed I am thousands of miles away but when I close my eyes, I picture myself here. This is a very beautiful place and if only I could live there....forever. This place is so different then from where I live now. Thank you for sharing this video.
It's not what it used to be. The best restaurant down and across from the windmill that you have to go upstairs to get to is gone... replaced by a Vietnamese Pho place. To the west side is a Subway. It's become nothing special, sadly.
Ooh, that is interesting! I never knew that. The Danish capital of America (Solvang) is apparently not the Danish language capital of America! haha. Thanks for sharing!
@@d.e.s4432 You're welcome! Really, frmo what I've seen, the place really has nothing to do with danish culture at all... Sure the whole village theme looks cozy, but it doesn't really look anything like a danish village.. I'd say it looks like if smoeone were to make an austrian village for a theme part and put it on a very american street :P Anyway! I don't mean to ruin the fun ^^ You're certainly welcome to visit the real thing one day. NIce to see the town again, have not been there since 2005. Nice too see that it has not become too commercialized, there was this old general store that I remember the family was selling after 3 generations and it was going to become a Rite-Aid.
Wait - stop! I'm right in the beginning of this location, and I've caught three of the finest things all within easy walking distance even for someone like me: A bookstore. A coffee shop. A place to sit with both :> Ahhh, ty, my dear friend! for helping this disabled, busted-broke woman 'explore the beauty and diversity' of so many places! in a non-bouncy, up close and personal, fashion !!!

This is why America is great. We’re a nation of all the Europeans, Middle eastern, Africans and Asians. You can travel from one to city to the next and experience the differences that has built and solidified the nation as one.
Very delightful video for this morning's treadmill run. Thanks! One thing I'm noticing from exercising to videos from around the world is the alarming level of obesity in the US.
How are you making this so smooth? I swear you are on a hoverboard..? I cannot believe how much it has grown. but still looks very quaint. I have not been there 45 yrs!
great to see!! im from the netherlands. i know its L.A. and the usa, but so many asfalt and concrete and wide, perfectly straight roads, without to much trees, grass and other plants makes it a bit... ... ... :] mayb its to warm there. but nice houses tho!!
Isbak We, as Danes do not really have a village in California. Already when I visited in 1979, only like 5 people even spoke a little Danish. Most were Mexicans, even then. Solvang is a business opportunity, and that is OK, as long as visitors do not believe, that this has much to do with life in Denmark 2018. I enjoyed old-fashioned Danish food, after traveling 3 months in Quebec and all over USA ( Greyhound-pass ). Lol. Kærlig hilsen!
@@WindWalkTravelVideos It doesn't actually look like a danish town at all.. I don't wanna spoil the fun or wahtever, but it looks more like an austrian and american town merged together.

can you give me your fb or whatsapp
Hi Sana, my facebook page is: fb.me/WindWalkTravelVideos
I've lived in California my entire life and I never even heard of this place until a few days ago when my brother suggest we go there for the weekend.
I live a few minutes from there
Don't go. At least not if you want to see anything remotely looking like Denmark.

Thanks for watching! Solvang is a really unique and charming Danish town in California. I'd love to visit Malaysia someday.
Such a beautiful little town with plenty of eats and drink!
danish peaple are so nice and freindly and also open minded 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😎😎😎
It's no wonder why Denmark is the happiest country in the world
They're super closed off

I miss Solvang so much. I love the quaintness of it. The shops and the restaurants are the best.

I used to live here. I miss it so much. Thanks for the shot of nostalgia! I could almost smell the aebleskivers.
fun fact, by saying æbleskivers you are pluralising the word twice :) It'd be more correct to say æbleskivs or just æbleskiver

Apparently gravity is slightly skewed in the village of Solvang. And the more you walk, the more skewed it gets.
pretty cool
Pretty good graphics.
I
can you walk in palm spring ?
must be a hard working job to make a amazing video like this, How can I support you? I don't know much about patreon thingy.

Hi, check this map of Downtown Solvang: bit.ly/2vfogFK
thanks
Oh my, being a danish person I did not even know we had a village in Cali
Amazing, right? I hope to visit the "real" Denmark someday.

Every Dane that has visited Solvang says there's nothing really Danish about it.
As a Dane, this place make me cringe.
Same here. It's disgusting. Where is a wild fire when you need one?
It looks nothing like Denmark right? More like Netherlands
Be happy they even thought of you
can you travel to Europe France Germany and england
I want to. Hopefully in the future.
😎👍
I JUST UPLOADED MY FIRST VISIT , IT WAS SO MUCH FUN !!! =)
thank you I am from Russia I am very interested in your video shoot more America PLS
Well it is something but definitely not Denmark. It's still kinda funny though.
No, its not Denmark. Its California.

I didn't hear any Danish spoken on the streets.
Danish immigrants settled there originally, now their offspring speak English, like all other Americans
Lol are they supposed to play it on loudspeakers or something
Haha
*I LIVE THERE*
Same lmao
I’m still angry from seeing the sushi bar in this city
You'll be okay
Looks like European small town
Yeah, it's a Danish-themed village. Little Denmark as they call it.
