"It was like torture.. I genuinely thought my life was over" - Laura's Interview

  • When you’re prescribed steroids for eczema they don’t give you the disclaimer:
... you’ll be tempted to continue to take this cream that stops the awful itch and painful rash
… but you might get Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW) if you use them long term
... when your skin might get worse than your original eczema
Look I have nothing against Dr’s
They’re only using the tools they have
TSW awareness is only just being recognised by some conventional medicine practitioners
Laura’s such a good example of what can happen
“In my 20’s I started to get little patches on my arms in the back of my legs.
I went to the doctor's and I decided to take some steroids for it.
    From there?
My eczema got worse and worse
I was using stronger and stronger steroids.
    It was a downward spiral.”
Then lockdown happened, she couldn’t get more steroids
“My whole face blew up 🔥
I was covered in these sores
You can't sleep, can't socialize, you can't move properly”
Laura realised she was going through TSW
    “It was like voluntary torture
There were some pretty bleak times
I thought it was the end of my life.
I'll never be able to do anything ever again.”
    Nine months later?
    Laura started to see improvement
“But the skin was still flaky and broken
    I just felt really inadequate.”
    So she started Dupixent
Which gave her a break from TSW
Exactly what she needed at that time in her life
    Then she realised?
“My values don’t align with injecting it into my stomach every 2 weeks”
    Next?
More withdrawals from Dupixent, there were a few dark weeks
    Now?
She has to deal with the eczema she was diagnosed with years ago
⭐️ Tune into Laura’s full interview to hear about her eczema healing journey
Are you debating using Steroids or Dupixent?
Are you stuck in the medication - eczema cycle?

I’m definitely know what you’re going through. If you’re not dealing with an eating disorder order, you should really look into doing a water fast. I just broke my 4 day one and it’s helped me significantly. I’ll be praying for you.

Laura, I have had severe Eczema for six months. I can relate to your feelings about not being able to sleep, go in public, itch like crazy and stop taking steriods. No cremes helped, nothing helped until Dupixent.

Many thanks to you both. I can relate so much and this is very refreshing to hear (esp as I'm going through a flare-up over the past few months). Eczema has been so bad for me in the past that it's brought me to my knees. Some gifts have arisen from my experience and desperation, such as heightened awareness around health, nutrition and healing. I've also become more spiritual as a result. But it's so helpful to hear about others who've faced this struggle - and I feel less alone. Thank you again! 🙏💝

Wow it seams all types of withdrawal . Eczema, prednisone, prescription pain and drugs all have such an effect on the body even birth control. It makes you wonder why are we doing this to ourselves how did this become the norm…..
