    I own this mixer and really love it. Alas, it is too small and I have out grown it. They do have a larger version such as the mum8 but it runs on single phase 240V and uses a different plug. I really wish Bosch would make a larger version for the USA customers. But I still have mine and use it now and again sometimes right along side my Breville mixer.

    Bosch Compact Kitchen Machine does a stainless steel bowl come with or is offered for separate purchase?

    • @nancihank7
      @nancihank7 5 лет назад +2

      You can get a stainless mixing bowl for the Compact but it is an optional bowl. I ordered one today "just because". I have been using a Bosch Compact for about 8 yrs. now and the white BPA free plastic bowl has worked great. I am an "attachment lover" and have pretty much every attachment that is offered for the Compact and do have every attachment that is offered for the Universal and some that are not even offered any longer. I have had a Universal since 1980 and love both machines. I collect vintage appliances all of the way from my stove which is a lemon yellow 1950 Deluxe High Back "C" Model Chambers and my fridge which is a 1934 Westinghouse down to vintage toasters, waffle irons, many other mixers including 12 Sunbeams starting with the 1944 model down to 1970's models, vintage Hamilton Beach mixers, one 1930's Fitzgerald "Magic Maid" with all attachments, and a 1930 Royal Culinaire which looks amazingly like an early Bosch Universal. I also have two Kitchen Aids....a 1965 K5-A and a 1965 4-C with a beautiful Pyrex bowl. I tried making whole wheat bread in the K5-A and had to move the dough over to my Bosch Universal during the kneading process. I love any and all vintage and antique appliances BUT if I am cooking, I use either my Bosch Universal which can make up to 9 loaves of whole grain bread at one time or if I am making 4 or under loaves of whole grain bread, I use my Compact. All 5 of my daughters have either a Bosch Universal or a Bosch Compact. And, the average "working" life of a Bosch mixer is between 18 and 25 yrs. and one of my daughters has, and uses, a 1974 Bosch Universal so many must last even longer. KitchenAid mixers, which since the 1960's have been made by Whirlpool NOT the KitchenAid corporation of early years AND the inside gearing is all plastic. If you do some research you will find reviews where several KitchenAid owner tried to make while wheat bread and during kneading, stripped the gears and burned up the motor. I will just continue to admire all of my vintage appliances and USE my Bosch mixers......wonderful appliances with great engineering for ALL kinds of kitchen chores. Nancy C.....A LONG time whole grain baker (55 yrs.) in Texas

    You have no idea of what you're talking about. I make bread in mine, both white and whole wheat, on a regular basis. And what on earth does "lift your hands really high in the air" mean?? Have you ever used a food processor with your hands at your sides??

    I actually own this one but it didn't bake well. The bowl surface isn't even and makes my batter a mess. I do though want to succeed using this mixer. So I ended up using hand mixer.

    Whip my egg replacer to stiff peaks? A real cook would use egg whites. Do you know how to separate an egg white? Something tells me "no".
    Julie, you don't use a dough hook to combine ingredients; you use it to knead dough.
    It doesn't look like it gets the ingredients near the side of the bowl very well.

    I don't like it. To use the food processor, you have to lift your hands really high in the air to push things through the chute. Poor design. I'm doubtful it can be used to knead dough.

    • @nancihank7

      I personally am not a huge fan of the Compact Food Processor....I like my Cuisinart better but then found one new in the box at an estate sale for $5.00...how can you not like that deal?. The one made for the Compact is kind of small but the one made for the Universal is larger and works great. I do use it. But bread dough?....OH, WOW.....YES, it does a great job of kneading bread dough, making cake batter, cookie dough and any other job I have tried in it. And, just remember how "high you have to lift your hands" probably has a lot to do with how tall you are and how high the counter top or surface that you have the Compact on when using the Food Processor. If you have NEVER USED AN APPLIANCE, I THINK YOU SHOULD BUY ONE AND USE IT BEFORE WRITING A REVIEW OF ANY KIND....GOOD, BAD OR INDIFFERENT..........just sayin'.
