I think the weight he has is just too heavy for his arm speed. At least one of them was 179g this much weight. Will make it difficult for low arm speeds to put enough spin on the disc. Spin directly affects glide and distance.

My buddy throws a few of them and he gets them 350 easy. Me not so much lol but I'm just starting out still learning alot.
