I feel like the Noah's Ark story was likely a telling of real events that was later embelleshed, and then when the bible was written, whomever included the story decided to make it fit their story.
For example, the boat likely did not contain two of every animal on earth, rather a few of all domesticated animals in the region.
It is also likely that the flood was not worldwide, but to the people living in the region that was flooded, it certainly would've seemed like that.
It is also likely that rather than godly intervention, the flood was the result of a natural disaster such as the buckling of tectonic plates, a meteor, or anything that would cause enormous water displacement.
Take this with a grain of salt though, as this is just my opinion on theories that seem plausible to me.

Prove that, if Gilgamesh was first produced into a writing surface, that the story of Gilgamesh is older than Noah’s account of flood
Prove that Sumerian writing systems predated Hebraic.

Ascribing the construction of the pyramids - Egypt, Mexico and Central America; take your pick - to space aliens is a backhanded way of saying that you’re a racist without saying that you’re a racist. The Egyptians, Aztecs, Maya and other ancient civilizations around the world all had really very smart people who figured out how to do complicated projects, in some cases on a massive scale. The fact that modern archaeologists, scientists and researchers still haven’t figured things out yet is a testament to the knowledge and skills of these ancient indigenous peoples.
Someday there will be a genuine, legit breakthrough that will answer these mysteries; but for now those who are putting in the work - in some cases their entire professional careers - are taking things step by step until a solid, verifiable and plausible answer (or answers) is achieved.
As far as Ancient Aliens TV show host Giorgio Tsoukalos goes, he’s nothing more than walking click bait. He’s in it for the money, the attention, and selling books filled with his nonsense. I’d trust his hair more than whatever’s in that skull of his. But it could be worse. Tsoukalos could be Trump’s science advisor if that clown gets re-elected in November.
And, as others have commented here, the story of a man, a plan and his boat that he built to survive a great flood is found in The Epic of Gilgamesh, which is a collection of even older tales and myths that were combined into the first recognized epic which predates the story of Noah, The Book of Genesis and The Old Testament by perhaps several hundred years at least.
That the story of A Great Flood persisted for centuries before it was recorded on clay tablets shows how significant events that actually happed eventually evolve into oral histories, then stories and legends, until they achieve mythic status that are adopted to become a central part of a people’s culture going forward into what we’ve got today.
In fact, there’s evidence - geological, topographical and archeological - that *something happened* six or seven thousand years ago that was experienced then memorialized into the cultural fabric of many civilizations around the world. It was most likely not a single cataclysmic event, but probably more like several major occurrences - large meteor impact in the Pacific, or a natural land barrier that collapsed to cause the Mediterranean Sea to flood a populated valley to create the Baltic - that, in the minds of the people who lived through those things were seen as *the same thing*: The entire world as they knew it suddenly consumed by a flood of unimaginable proportions. This would leave a very deep impression on survivors who would see to it that this was a story never to be forgotten, to be told and retold to every generation from there on.
And like the old game of Telephone, as the biggest event in (local or regional) history is told, repeated and spread to other clans, campfires and villages, some things become lost along the way, get added, get misinterpreted or misunderstood until a legend or myth eventually emerges and takes hold.
Besides containing its own Great Flood story, The Epic of Gilgamesh is the prototype for basically every story told since. It’s got the hero or protagonist who has their own quirks and flaws that keeps them from being perfect, there’s the wild card sidekick, the bad guy, and then the quest or journey filled with incidents along the way until the story’s ending. This is the same formula that’s found in every action and superhero movie, TV show, comic book, novel, etc.
Almost anything that is conveyed as a story in popular culture today has roots that go back about 5,000 or so years. And they owe their existence to whoever the person was that rounded up a collection of minor stories, then edited them together into a larger comprehensive work that they scribed the words onto a stack of clay tablets in Sumeria, which is roughly the central-southeastern region of Iraq today. It’s a very long road from Uruk to Gotham City, but there it is.

For a long time, even after they disembarked the ark since one death of two ends a species. Historical account? Or a beautiful story for life lesson teaching? A lot in the Bible doesn’t make sense to me but you can find meaning in those stories as well. There is in the biblical flood story "numerical data" from which a map of a voyage can be constructed ... a voyage from Heliopolis to Patmos. This appears to refer to a movement of people from Egypt to Greece during the chaos that happened at the end of the Egyptian Old Kingdom. Whoever wrote Revelations probably knew about this. The dimensions of the Ark are a geometrical figure onto which other data in the story can be placed to create the map. The Bible story is actually two stories combined ... the reference to Ararat is part of the second story .. which suggests that there was a later movement into the Black Sea (and then maybe across to Northern Mesopotamia and eventually a return to Egypt as "Abraham"?). The end of the voyage as mapped is actually a few miles offshore from Patmos ... from where "The tops of the mountains (on the island) can be seen". What is my source for this? It's what my mind saw in the text when I first read it. "On the 17th day of the 2nd month of the 600th year" and the precise dimensions of the Ark caused me to wonder why these numbers were in the story. The thought: "Could it be a map?" came into my mind.

The "Flood" that is referenced, only shows up in the rock deposit profiles underneath modern Africa/Mediterranean areas of the planet, there's not enough evidence in our planes current history suggesting it was "worldwide". Also, you think nobody alive during the time of Noah could build a boat big enough to withstand a flood or was he just the lucky chosen one?
Also, if the worldwide "flood" did happen, when Noah was instructed to take one of every animal, how is he supposed to do that with exotic species of animals on different continents? Kangaroos, Kolas and Polar Bears we're not in the Mediterranean/African area. The more you think about the Bible and research it, the more it seems like a fairytale just like all the other religions.

The flood was caused by a meteor. You can figure it out in Genesis. The aftermath is an earth with a wobble, a moon with an elliptical orbit, and hot and cold seasons. When it hit, the fountains of the great deep broke open, and the atmosphere was disturbed and the rain began.
