Foundation Routine | A Natural Dewy Glow

- Hey ladies :-) in this video I will be showing you my full coverage foundation routine for dewy, glowing skin using mostly drugstore products!!! As a beginner the idea of applying makeup outside of my comfort zone (i.e. my go to routine of foundation, setting powder, blush, mascara and gloss) can be daunting, but with practice I've gained more confidence and I am sharing my progress with you. Let's continue to grow together.
Follow the steps below to achieve a natural, dewy, glowing look….
Products I used are listed in each step. Remember there are no rules in makeup, well there are but don't be afraid to break 'em :-D Do what works best for you and have fun!
Step 1: prime your skin
(Face - NYX Pore Filler)
(Eyelids - NYX Proof It!)
Step 2: apply your foundation
(Mac Studio Fix Fluid, NW 40)
Step 3: conceal discoloration
(NYX Highlight and Sculpt Face Duo #4, Peach)
Step 4: contour
(NYX Highlight and Sculpt Face Duo #4, Cinnamon)
Step 5: highlight
(Mac Pro LongWear, NC 35)
Step 6: Blend, blend, blend using light tapping motions
Step 7: Apply setting powder to highlighted areas
(Coty Airspun Translucent Powder)
Step 8: Apply bronzer/sculpting powder to contoured areas
(Black Radiance True Complexion Contour Palette Light to Medium, Sculpt)
Step 9: Apply illuminator

Step 10: Add blush
(NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder, Pink Cheek Glow)
Step 11: add eye shadow

Step 12: Lock everything in w/ setting spray

Step 13: Mascara

Step 14: Add Lashes (optional)

Step 15: Add lip color

Lori Love I really hope so, you’re perfect! 😍 Question, I noticed someone said you should be wearing MAC nc foundation? What does that stand for and what was wrong with the shade you chose? We’re close in color so now I’m wondering if I need to switch mine up lol
Nicole Chantal Aww that’s so sweet of you to say and I appreciate the compliment but I’m far from perfect and I often struggle to remind myself that “imperfections” are what make us unique....NC stands for neutral cool and is yellow based which is why I think the person who commented suggested I use NC since I have warm (yellow or golden) undertones. However, when I bought my foundation the MAC artist may have suggested NW (neutral warm) to balance out my yellow undertones since NW is pink/red based. I’ve learned that despite their labels the base colors of NW are not warm but actually cool and the base colors of NC are not cool but actually warm so some artists may choose to match the colors to one’s skin tone while other artists may choose the base colors to balance out one’s skin tone. TBH I am not a make up artist, I’m just a make up enthusiast. I do not know everything and am trying to perfect my skills so I usually just choose what I think looks good on me. It’s hard to tell what color matches best in the stores because of the lighting so now whenever possible I get a sample so that I can see if the foundation matches my skin tone in natural lighting.

Arent you supposed to wear a mac nc shade. You seem like you have warm undertone.
you are right I do have warm undertones...the foundation matched my skin tone very closely in the store. Lighting is much different at home so I eventually did notice. I continued to use b/c I didn't wanna waste money LOL. I no longer use it now; just haven't been able to upload due life/class/work. I'll be back soon though. Thanks for watching and commenting :-)
