@@Ikajo It depends on the person. I'm usually very good at it. The only time I struggle is when several different themes start similarly. But I can usually guess within the first 5 or so seconds.

My biggest gripe with the MCU soundtracks is that they almost never repeat the themes for specific characters in their solo movies. The only ones that actually repeat for multiple movies are the Avengers theme, Guardians theme, and Spider-Man theme. Iron Man has a completely different theme for each of his movies, and the same is true for Captain America and Thor. The theme for the first Cap movie is incredible and I just wish they would use it for him throughout his entire trilogy. It would have made the soundtrack more memorable and have a sense of continuity.
100% agreed. I don't know why the MCU doesn't try to lean into individually unique hero themes. There's a reason almost anyone plucked off the street can hum the John Williams Superman theme on demand, or the Danny Elfman Batman theme, or Indy, or Star Wars, etc - that sort of marriage between music and character often deepens the connection people feel to a franchise and just pumps people up with excitement when they hear a unique and recognizable theme like that. The MCU doesn't really have that outside of Avengers, Spidey, and Guardians. Some of the others can certainly be recognized when people hear them but I doubt most people would be able to hum them on demand.

@@ryhanon7 They try their best to, it just doesn't necessarily come across well. About...40% of these have relatively solid sonic identities. I couldn't tell you what any of the themes are with the exception of the Avengers opens bc of the "Avengers Motif," but it was pretty easy to guess a lot of them. The Ant Man ones lean pretty heavily on common heist/spy film tropes, the Iron Man feature prominent electric guitar, the Cap ones lean heavily on the "superhero brass" trope, etc.
But I mean, they pump these babies out like they're on an assembly line. There probably just isn't time for the music director to coordinate with the writers. The exception being Black Panther, and well look what Goransson managed to do when given actual time to do the composing.
And Dr Strange theme.
@@user-xx6vy9ri8p As much as I love Danny Elfman, I'm sad he didn't incorporate Michael Giacchino's Doctor Strange theme into the soundtrack for Multiverse of Madness. He references it once and then completely abandons any motifs from the first movie.
Loki 100% has one of the best soundtracks!!!
I can't wait for season 2, hopefully they'll adopt a similar vibe for the music because it was so, so good

Right? The movie sucked ass, but the theme got worked into the MARVEL suite, IIRC. There's even another track on the Dark World OST called "Fanfare," which perfectly encapsulates the intro.

After love and Thunder, what I think of Thor 2: Perhaps I’ve treated you too harshly
The score is amazing. However it still has its flaws like Malekith and forgettable plot. But Loki and Thor were great, as it is serious. It succeeds where love and Thunder fails. Jokes actually land in Dark world as well. Not cringe or unfunny like LAT.

I only missed Guardians 2 (because the theme didn’t start until the last millisecond) and Black Widow (because I’m not as familiar with it yet). The MCU has great music, and that is a very underrated aspect of the MCU. Ragnarok is one of my favorite movie soundtracks. It is a JAM!

@jeffleft777 Thor 2 is the most bland movie, but the score kinda slaps. Like the funeral song for when Thors mom dies is very memorable. So memorable in fact, that they've used it in Thor Ragnarok, Avengers Endgame and I think even Love and Thunder

Man Marvel movies have such good themes. For me other than all the Avenger themes and movies, Captain America not only has the best 3 themes but also the best 3 movies. The Winter Soldier theme hits the right amount to make it feel like a spy thriller.

I notice how since Phase 3 they kinda try to make the character theme more consistent like the GOTG gang or Spiderman vs in older movies where their themes vary
Listening to these all together confirms that the Captain America movies had tbe best music

I still have a soft spot for The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 3 and The Winter Soldier Themes. I always felt like out of the main 4, Thor never really got a theme that suited him.

I am happy to say that i only missed 3 of those. Since i love so much to hear the soundtracks, there are musica in this list that i have listened plenty of times before. But my favs must be the Loki theme and Avengers theme, for sure.
I liked it when the Fox X-Men movies reused the X2 theme in Days of Future Past etc.
Marvel Studios, please reuse your music themes for your characters?!?! I really love Thor's Asgard theme, Iron Man 3 theme and the GotG themes.
ironman and antman are definitely distinct. avengers, cap and marvel sound very militaristic/patriotic. black panther and shang chi are really just dead giveaways. i kept getting doctor strange and gotg mixed up with thor. black widow was like typical spy theme so could have been hawkeye show or even agents of shield. didn't like falcon, although i get what they were trying to do, and wandavision felt like no one in particular. loki was such a major hit

While I’m not a diehard marvel fan, I was shocked by how few things of these I knew. I’m big into orchestral music, and am a huge fan of film music’s ability to create emotive moments. I find the mcu’s scores too ‘safe’ to tell apart from each other, and even other films of a similar tone. Shame, I’d enjoy the films so much more if the music were more thematic and not so generic!
Got all but Guardians 2 and Hulk. The Music of the MCU is just so good!
I don't know if the fact that almost every movie has a different theme (even if it's the same character) is an advantage or a disadvantage on this one
Definitely a disadvantage. None of the phase 1 heros have any consistent theme that viewers can identify with, because they switch composers after every sequels for some reason, and these composers all create different motifs for the characters
They definitely got better about it with the Avengers theme and Spider-Man, but I can’t say any other hero has a particularly strong theme. Individual movies like Captain America 1 & 2 have good music, but since the themes don’t really carry over it’s not as effective.
@@quakethedoombringer yeah it really sucks. I wish they had continued using the old themes, even if they kept introducing new ones. Captain america had some level of consistency (themes from the first movie were in endgame) and same with Thor (themes from the first one we’re in Ragnorok). Spider man, Doctor strange, guardians of the galaxy and black panther have done excellent so far with consistency though.

I got all of them! All of the recent marvel movies have great themes, including the ones that came out after this video.
Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Eternals, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel all sound amazing. they are my favorites.

No not really, which is the big problem the MCU has had for a while. Because there are so many composers in the mix that have no respect for each other, there is very little thematic building between film scores. Iron Man has like three different themes, for example.

first Iron Man will always be my favorites mcu score and I don't think that will ever change for as long as i live. I got 17/27 :)
I got insanely hyper excited when Endgame theme came, bc it’s my fav MCU film. Infinity War was good, and was first one I saw in theaters, but I found Endgame more exciting bc of finale and nostalgia, despite less action and the fact it is overrated bc of fan service.
Age of Ultron score is cool, I don’t get the hate for it. Sure it’s the weakest in series, but just so you know, it is the last time we see the OG six fight together.
Thor 1 is the most underrated MCU film. Best score in Thor series.
Thor 2 is okay, just Malekith butchered some of it. But Loki and Thor dynamic carried and jokes actually land.

Daredevil’s series is MCU now, but a lot of the things in the series will have changed so that they can use certain characters again. Defenders, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage are not canon whatsoever. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was canon but ended up being deemed not canon. Inhumans and Peggy Carter are the only fully canon MCU projects.

Iron Man's first theme was way better than either of his later themes.
How does this not have more views?
I missed most of the newer tv shows like wandavision and Loki but I got most of the older themes. I struggled for a while on gotg 2 tho but I got most of them. The only tv show I got was falcon and the winter soldier cause Louisiana hero is honestly one of my favourite themes

As someone who's only seen a few mcu films, got maybe 5 of them. While they're all good pieces of music, they all feel kinda samey, and to me don't sound how I'd expect for those characters
The Spiderman themes and the Avengers and Avengers endgame
24/27 + I got the extra correct as well. I missed the Guardians Vol. 2 because you played it tricky with that one, same with Vol. 1 but I did manage to get Vol.1. The 2nd one I missed was Iron Man 2. Never would have got that. And last one I missed was Captain Marvel for the same reason as Iron Man 2.
Loki, Iron Man 1, Avengers, Cap 1, Infinity War, Incredible Hulk, Black Panther, Homecoming, Endgame, Guardians of the Galaxy are the best.
