the op reflector seems to have a tighter spot with more defined edge from spot to spill. opposite of what you'd think the beam pattern would be for the given reflector.

Barely smaller, noticeably lighter, but less powerful and shorter-lived. Useful if you mind the size of your EDC.

What is the difference between the convoy S8 and this convoy s21a?

Battery size, mostly. The S8 is 18650, the S21A is 21700.
