I'm answering this question because for some reason I can't add another comment. It works like a charm. I'm able to play all of my emulated games from PS2, to Dreamcast, Nintendo Wii, GameCube, N64, PSP, Gameboy, even PS3 and 360 games. Plus since the steam deck is a PC, I transferred my save files via Google drive. Works great. I was even able to switch my Mugen from my old laptop onto my steam deck. My ONLY con is that I feel like if I drop it, it's gonna explode lol. It doesn't feel as indestructible as a GameCube controller, it literally feels like a game cartridge to a Gameboy.

Holy shit. I will just buy a steam deck now. Was planning on building a new PC, but just couldn't pull the trigger due to price gouging, high power draw, and hot running temperatures. Great stuff ^_^

I downloaded it but "Steam Rom Manager" is missing in the Emulator and Tools Configurations side of the installer. IDK how to proceed since you said i need that selected.

Anyone have any tips, if i dont have a home computer or laptop, in regards to downloading the extra files onto a flash drive, or can i, in theory just download direct onto the deck? I tried doing this with an xbox series S, and got stuck at this part too.
Use steam deck as a pc. Go to desktop mode use the Firefox internet browser you can go to any website and download anything you want. Steam deck is a pc.

@@Sarahlols76 I actually managed to fix this by moving bios files out of the PS2 folder and into the bios folder it's messy but It works. Also works for ps1
hmm i tried several save slots and it always says "saved to slot x" when i go load save slot it says no save slot found in slot x " maybe im just 2 dumb though @@ED4T
I’m right at the end where it doesn’t have the option for “preview” with pasers, what did you do instead? I’ve installed a game file and put it into the folder but it’s still not giving an option
My only problem with ps2 emulation is the memory card. I created memory card in slot 1 and slot 2. 8MB. The problem is that many games show that the memory card is full and I can't create a saving data. Do you have a solution ? I tried to launch the bios but I can do nothing, except watching the ps2 laucher video. I tried settings in PCSX2 application, no solution... If you have an idea, it would be great ! no problem. have you used bios checker tool and make sure bios are all good? if they are good try to rest your ps2 emulator pcsx2 inside emudeck manage emualtors.

Is it better to download each emulator separately or play in emulation station? Does emulation station gets updated frequenty like individual emulator?
Emulation station is essentially a launcher, like steam, for the separate emulators. So you can do both. I don't bother with Emulation station or EmuDeck. Personally, I just use the Discover store to get the emulators I want installed and add them to Steam as a non-steam game.

Great guide but having problems with Black, Call of Duty 2 & 3. Really bad framedrop when games are busy, down to 10 fps at times and bad stuttering. Any suggestions on settings I can change so I can play these games? All my other games (33 in total) work great. Thanks
I did this i have the bios i put them in the correct folder and still it doesn't work....games cut out when started sending me back to the launch screen. I checked the bios in the emudeck bios checker and it say there are no bios.... Whats the deal with this? Nothing has changed from the last video to this one. Go to custom reset and go through the process make sure you turn on steam rom manger during the reset process

i copied all the bios files over to the ps2 folder on my steam deck, but emu deck still isn't detecting it.

have you tried to rest your PS2 emulator's configuration. Have you tried to you save states feature on pcsx2?

Try to rest your emulator settings. Sometime you have to find a different rom.
Some of my ps2 games aren't coming as .iso files, or they appear as PowerISO files. how do i make sure they are the correct kind of file?
make sure they are either iso or chd. other formate will not be supported.

You can try to start up the game from desktop mode. If you still have same issues. Most likely you have wrong bios files or roms.
why did you move your ps2 bios in the dolphin folder?

make sure pcsx2 is turned on under steam rom manager paresers. if still not show then make sure your roms are in chd or iso formats.
@ED4T that wasn't it, but i figured out the problem literally 5 minutes later. All i had to do was extract the zipped rom file into the roms folder
can you show us how to add hd packs to ps2/emudeck. i have some for ps2 and its enabled in pcsx2 but they are not active ingame.

if you have tried multiple roms still not work then i think its the bios files you have are corrupted.

Bios checker said there is no bios files ? There are 2 possible errors:1. Bios are in wrong folder. 2. The bios files you have are corrupted.

@@kas789 I can't man cause deck isnt sold in my country officially so the oled one will cost me close to 700 plus dollars whereas lcd one will cost me 400 dollars.
@techh9171 if that’s the case get lcd. It’s great too. Just pay extra $300 for oled is not worth at all.
