I want to add that the folks at SDRPlay seem so nice, that it feels GOOD to support them.

Why not build the RSP with BNC instead of SMA. Everybody is using an adapter.... it seems a bit...I don't know how to call it but its just an annoying connector that fits .... nothing.
I have an RSP and love it...but that connector, jesus.

The SMAs are spec'd for lower loss right up to 2GHz. On the RSPdx we have one BNC input for lower frequencies (up to VHF)

Great video, not used my sdrplay for a year or so but it’s inspired me to find it and get it going again, love the sledge hammer to bang the copper tube into the ground by the way😂

Many thanks for all the good wishes. We will try to provide limited support over the Christmas period. Although some of the real expertise when it comes to answering questions is out there in the SDRplay community forums: www.sdrplay.com/communitylinks

I have had my RSPDX for 3 weeks & I love it more every day. Recliner & a 65" TV makes for comfy radio fun!
And it is so very nice to buy something NOT from China!

You can buy direct from us here in the UK: www.sdrplay.com/purchase/ or from one of the authorised resellers here: www.sdrplay.com/distributors/

If only their wonderful software would run on my Mac Studio under OS 12.7. I can't upgrade to 13 because I'd lose the Firewire support for thousands of pounds worth of audio hardware. The Windows version doesn't run on this machine because it's Apple silicon based and VMWare doesn't support it.
So, I'll be listening to SAQ via the Twente SDR again. Pity really.

I really think you should voice your displeasure to Apple: forums.developer.apple.com/forums/thread/721151

Having said that the Windows version won’t run because it is for Intel, not ARM architecture. If I was not travelling I would also see if I could install the Intel Mac version, (it may give you errors but maybe can workaround) since An ole silicon can emulate Intel based programs.

My solution was to dedicate a Windows 10 machine to the RSP and nothing else. Said machine has no other software installed other than SDRUno and SDRConnect and it is not connected to anything other than the radio. No WiFi, no ethernet, no anything. Period. Just the RSP box. If I need to update the software then I copy it to a USB stick and install from there.
So since this computer is not connected to the outside world, it has proven to be just as fast and reliable as it was (2) years ago when I set it up. It isn't bothered by nor affected by endless operating system updates, and is immune to malware etc.
So that was my solution. It didn't cost much money, works reliably and well, and gives best of everything because it will run SDRUno, SDRConnect, and other SDR software without issue.
Even if you are a hardcore Mac user, you can still do this and just use the Windows machine only for the radio. The free version of Windows 10 will work just fine and you will have access to far more SDR software than is available for the Mac.

OK, I returned home and verified that there is no issue installing and using the x64 version of SDRconnect on an Apple Silicon Mac (The Intel version is happy Wirth any version of MacOS from Catalina onwards).

@@SDRplayRSP It does indeed, until I try to access the Global Settings. Then it crashes, reliably.
