Any mining noobs watching this, please do not mine in the MineXMR pool, it has a very large hashrate, more than double the next largest pool. Please consider mining in a smaller pool, your profitability won’t change, only the frequency with which you receive payouts. Help DECENTRALIZE the network, not centralize it in a bid to make a quick buck off of your CPUs.
Noted
The fact that it's made for CPUs is great for someone like me that doesn't even have a GPU and that can't use a lot of power without all the lights flickering.
That’s some premium hacking experience right there: entering mainframe, give it all the power, “fan noise accelerates, lights start flickering”

Sometimes it happens for no reason at all. Not as exciting as it is in your imagination. Also, this place doesn't seem to have ground, so I do get shocked sometimes, by certain things.
The walls are also falling apart and everything that I own is at least kinda broken, and I'm completely alone and have no access to resources, and live in a shithole that doesn't have any good people anyway, so being alone is the best option, and I can't leave because the world decided to destroy itself. There is nothing wrong, though, the world is great! Something good might even happen tomorrow! No suicides here, this is perfectly fine!

The high end AMD ryzens truly shine here and are far more available than gpus.
and far more profitable as XMR's randomx mining algorithm is CPU optimized to keep things as decentralized as possible

stops GPU farms

>implying the high end ryzens are far more available than gpus
Something to note is that there's only been incrimental improvements since the 3XXX series as AMD has focused on single core performance.
@@ldskjfhslkjdhflkjdhf 3000 series is pretty much just as good as 5000 series, and those at least are pretty well available usually.

If you have solar, it's probably more profitable than selling power back to the grind. There's also a guy on yt that made water generator from old washing machine, but you have to live not only in a cabin in the woods, but also have a fast/steep enough stream to make that happen.

you explain things so much better than anyone else on youtube ty for pumping out these vids
Watch out for the minimum payout of your mining pool. It takes a long time until you get paid in a lot of pools.
Some pools pay out every 0.003 XMR which is pretty often.
I'm too poor to have a CPU :( I just use the integrated processor on my GPU.

people have said this before but your timing with these uploads is uncanny.
No shit, i literally just bought the first few things i need to get started just this morning, and had tabs open trying to figure out how to download the software when his video popped up
Thx for the video! I just set it up on my old laptop. I’m not expecting big returns or anything, but the laptop is on 24/7 anyways as a WiFi repeater, so it might as well do some slightly more demanding work xD
You're doing god's work by sharing this to everyone :)

Amazing video my man! Great content!
after watching this video i still don't knoe how to do it but im probably just a bit dumb. your voice is still nice
Same, lol.
In extracted directory type "./xmr-stak-rx" and follow directions.
Great video like always.
You can also mine direct from the official Monero GUI, although XMR-Stak is probably going to give you better hashrates
which is better. xmrig or xmr stak?
Good morning K! Always great to hear from you.
Mental Outlaw is going on a Monero spree, eh?
clearly he invested in it lmao
I mean, it fits his channel profile.
@creative name he's definitely staked all his tendies on monero
I run this miner here inside docker with a little custom python wrapper to automagically generate configs for the miner from commandline args or scale threads to cores if that's not specified by arguments

Very cool to see Monero get some attention, It's really cool, and in my humble opinion, a lot neater than BTC. Also, do you back up your videos anywhere? I checked LBRY, but I haven't seen you on there.

Do not use xmr-stak. The source code hasn't been updated since the December before last and it's so buggy that, I shit you not, it spammed my /var/logs with the startup prompt until my drive ran out of space and the computer froze up.
I may be stupid, but you can tell that because I tried to run mining software with over 450 open issues. Don't use it.
do you have a suggestion for one? 😯🤔
So on my i7 7700 using all cores do ~1770h/s. Full load use ~60w. KWh in my country converted to usd cost $0.16. So daily i lose $-0.09 and monthly $-2.66. Thanks gonna use it. Stonks.
Don't forget to enable 1Gb pages (think I had to edit grub to enable 1gb pages)
Also if you want faster payouts mine wownero and exchange it for monero (or crypto of your choice), a lot of Monero mining pools have 0.1 XMR min payout, which can take a while if just using a single cpu in your home PC.
zergpool has a sunday threshold of 0.004
@@qdmc12 never heard of it, but nice; thanks for sharing

So could i simultaneously mine xmr and something like eth by using cpu for xmr and gpu for eth? The spike in Power should be negligible
Dang are you reading my mind? I just set up Monero mining a couple weeks ago. Too bad I didn’t have this video video then
I've been using XMRig for a couple of years now and I've wondered what is the difference between XMR-Stak and XMRig?
Thoughts on GUI Solo mining with a 1950x threadripper? Been going at it for a while with no luck.
love you. plzzz more monero stufff
welp imma try this on termux, thx for the Video guide, way better to just follow someone even tho you know what your doing. i feel so alone xD
Any good recommendation for which Monero wallet to choose?
Hi man, can you do more of these vids but on other currencies including their wallets? Also, what do you think of atomicdex?
What do you think about p2pool?
Why should I prefer xmr-stak over xmrig?
Genuinely curious about the beef with XMRig and XMR-Stak seen at the beginning of the video. From what I've seen, XMRig is more widely used/audited, and I don't see the "forced" donate as a bad thing. Got any thoughts on this, yourself, MO?
Question: Are proof-of-work cryptocurrencies truly decentralized? If most people use pools when mining, technically transaction verification can be thought of as a group of a few verifiers with extra steps.
but if its gets shutdown like in china and india the gap is filled instantly by other miners, of course there a is top percent making most of the mining (poreto distribution) like in any free system, but those that are the top percent are also changing again like in any free system whether it crypto, fiat, or gas molecules density
it was originally understood to be decentralized, but the economics of mining make it not really so. the natural tendency of bitcoin will always be to centralize. bitcoin mining is effectively centralized in china right now.
there's still massive incentives against bad behavior. if anyone were to double-spend it would be detected instantly. and there's a certain balance of power between the miners and buyers. the miners make the decisions but are economically incentivized to follow the buyers.
Cache hard algorithms like Random X are as close as we get to decentralised proof of work. People have even got xmrig running on android via Termux with pretty decent hashrates.
Mining pools stay decentralised not from on chain mechanisms but from normal off chain communities and trust. Since miners can move hashrate around it isn't just a group of few verifiers with extra steps as there's additional game theory involved for miners and pools.
Proof of stake actually suffers similar problems. Deligated proof of stake has the same problem and non deligated proof of stake discourages those with smaller stakes.
At the end of the day decentralisation still means picking tradeoffs.
can't wait for the cpu shortages too!
I needed this video a month ago

this is the most genius way of price manipulation i've seen. outlaw's only making these videos to drive up the prices of his bags
My thoughts exactly.
How does that happen exactly if you don't mind me asking?
You know your dwm rice, do you have it set to when you open up a specific program it opens on the page with the corresponding icon?
some of them ya, but I often times end up changing the order when I move things to other monitors.
Is there any way to check profitability of mining XMR on certain CPUs?
You can search for the hashrate of your cpu and look how much youll make using the hashrate
hashrates com /algorithms /randomx/ for hashrates of cpu (AMD dominates)
cryptorival com /calcs /monero/ for value of hashrate
@@Voodoo_S3 thanks
can you make a new one for p2pool? love your vids. boston represent!
what wallet do you recommend for XMR? Can Electrum or Wasabi hold more than BTC?
There isn't a good reason to use xmr-stak over xmrig if you're willing or your distro includes xmrig without fees.
xmr-stak hasn't and is unlikely to be updated for Ryzen 5XXX CPUs since the developer has disagreements with the Monero project and developers.
NICE!! Keep mining boys
@8:09 which Window Manager are you using?
Is a hashrate of 2.5KH/s good for an AMD 8c/16t laptop?

Hi There,
Have you any idea how to make a USB Monero miner on Linux?
Many Thanks
does it work with monerocean pool ?
Friendly reminder, if you want to really get the best out of your machine, you need to tune your config and hardware.
This can quite literally be a different of 3x or more in hashrate.
Can you mine Monero on a smartphone?
it only shows config.txt and xmrig stack for me
how would you set up your own pool?
Best exchange for US based user to buy?
Assuming I go for PPS payoff as I would use it on my normal PC while I'm not using it myself(for example during the night), how reliable do you think this method is for making money for someone living in a Balkan shithole? :)
Is it worth building a rig to mine monero? Idk if I'm doing something wrong but every calc i do tells me you won't make your money back for many years and doesn't mining get harder as time goes on?
Yes
The blockchain fixes the double spend, as the longer chain lives but yeah 51% opens the door for temporary trickery if someone doesn’t wait for enough confirmations. Only 1 transaction can live on in the blockchain.
I have never liked a video so agressively
Tested it on my phone, it doesn't work on arm and looks of it, its optimized and is only for x86
XMRig is another easy software to get into mining but there is that donation baked into the code.
Next can you teach us how to create a botnet to mine crypto. Or at least privately DM me. I would love to know how I can use multiple devices at once.
A persistent botnet along with an injection script isn't exactly something you'll get for free, for your own sake I hope you mean not on other people's equipment and just a distributed system on your own network
@@egg5474 no i mean on other peoples. I want to make $. Whats wrong with utilising other peoples machines if they're not going to. Most people who are apart of a botnet don't even realise it.

A few years ago I mined some zCash via my gtx 1080 ever since then it seems to be slower. Does anyone know if mining harms your GPU?
It might be clogged with dust or need new thermal paste after a couple of years, a gpu will thermal throttle itself to keep cool and reduce its performance to stay below a certain temperature.
You could probably benchmark it to see if its still similar to other 1080s.
I don't think gpu's slow down and "wear out" over time, they normally just stop when something breaks, or are overheating from lack of maintenance
@@archygrey9093 Okay thank you!
