Interesting. I once did a lap as a passenger on Nordschleife and that was also way more intense than any games or even real life videos make it seem. It's just a whole different thing to experience it in proper first person and with all of the forces on your body.
Same can be said about how you don't realize just how fast the cars are going at the Indy 500 from TV. I say this as someone that's been there in person more times than I can count. I stood about 10 feet away from the cars going 235mph and it's pretty crazy. On TV it looks like they're going way slower than what you see and FEEL in person
Yeah, the difference between the PSOne games was amazing. If they didn't say the platform at the top of the screen then I'd assume we'd j jumped to the PS2.
Love how Codemasters (later EA) didn't bother updating the most popular circuit on the calendar for over 10 years despite being the least accurate circuit mesh in F1 2010. Also there is a version of F1 Racing Championship which most the circuits are probably the most accurate iterations of each circuit until laser scanning became a thing.
Even if the v6 hybrids don't sound good, I gotta say in the replays for example 24 really nailed the sound to a point where it sounds like you're watching F1 on TV Like at least it sounds like the actual car now
Pity you only show ps games. If you look at N64 world grand prix back in 1998 it will show you the true nature of the depth and steepness of these combo of corners..
I grew up on the F1 games from Studio Liverpool. They are all special to me. But for some reason Formula One 2001, 03 and Championship Edition always bring back the most nostalgia for me. My face lights up with those titles.
I know it wasn't official, but was a shame to not include Grand Prix 4 on PC. My most favourite F1 game ever made. Even with mods today it still holds up!
I also hadn't heard of it before I looked into F1 games for this video series. But I do know the developer that made it, Melbourne House. They also made the PS2 version of Le Mans 24 Hours, which was one of my favorite PS2 racing games as a kid.
It always shocks me how superior F1 99 looks compared to other PSX F1 games. It's almost like a generation jump. Studio 33 did a stellar work with HIRES.
Today I learned the PC version of Formula 1 (1996) has censored Foster's billboards. On the PS1 they're uncensored (and there's also an uncensored Marlboro one in Monaco).
wow the LOD did a world of good for the F1 99 look and feel! it seemed the first three games had worse and worse popping, and the 99 comes in with better sound, better models and an LOD that is practically invisible on CRTs, good hecking job to the team with that one, astonishing! in my childhood in the early 2000s, the ps2 was still way expensive for the average brazillian, so the PS1 and the Sega Mega Drive, Saturn, and Dreamcast reigned as "three kings" i'd say, Nintendo lost the console war here. So my best friend had the PS1 and the first game from 1996, the 99 version would have blown our minds back then. F1 challenge '99-02 on my dad's PC a year later managed to blow our minds tho.
The 2006 season didn't have a race at Spa, so the track is not included in that game. You can see that game in my Pit Stop and Interlagos videos though. ruclips.net/video/PV0vLr2MnpU/видео.html ruclips.net/video/ch5OygSqkjw/видео.html Why were you looking for that game in particular though? Is it your favorite F1 game?
That is one video that I have also been thinking about in the past. I might look into it now, seeing how this video here is doing pretty well. Even though the newer F1 games are more advanced with better graphics, realism and better animations. I'd still rather go back to the older F1 games to hear the sound of the V10 and V12 engines.
I always felt the gap in visuals between F1 2010 on PC and 2024 is marginal. For 14 years it isn't some mind bending improvement. Diminishing returns. Especially when you look at the same time period F1 of 1996 and then F1 2010!
I've never even really played these games and I thought the same thing. If we look hard enough we can spot some improvements, but the average person wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 2010 and now. Disappointing.
It’s actually Raidilllon, Eau Rogue is the small turn to the left at the bottom of the hill and Raidillon is the turn to the right as it’s going up the hill.
I always place last in the speed trap for in practice but my average cornering is quicker than the CPU on 70% difficulty. However they’re always beating me in straights. I just don’t understand why I’m slower in straights.
To be honest, I see the environment has changed a lot. The better graphical performance between the years is visible. Considering the car itself I do not realize the evolution. The car moves from the first to the last version very similar, very staticly. Not really like a car moves while driving.
The car improves at a more drastic rate compared to the environment, considering that you should be using the in car view anyway, the focus on visuals should be flipped.
No, I didn't play any game on low settings. I guess PC games can also look different based on your hardware though. Maybe you have a newer graphics card that supports some additional effects.
after 2010 there is no progress at all. The picture is more soapy, but the trees are the same. turn on 2010 after 2024 f1 and look again where the graphics are better)

The irony of this entire video is that eau rouge in an F1 car is not really an exciting turn since you can take it flat out. It’s much more fun in GT3 trying to find the right speed and grip

Any other corners that you would also like to see in all the different games? Ideally corners near the beginning of a track, so I can quickly do multiple attempts by restarting.
I went to the Belgian GP in 2019 and what struck me is that you don't realise how steep this section really is from games and TV.
Interesting. I once did a lap as a passenger on Nordschleife and that was also way more intense than any games or even real life videos make it seem. It's just a whole different thing to experience it in proper first person and with all of the forces on your body.
Yeah, same for me when I saw the Senna S in real life, in Interlagos
Same can be said about how you don't realize just how fast the cars are going at the Indy 500 from TV. I say this as someone that's been there in person more times than I can count. I stood about 10 feet away from the cars going 235mph and it's pretty crazy. On TV it looks like they're going way slower than what you see and FEEL in person
Same for me. I was in awe when i stood in front of it the first time and saw that steep climb.
It'd wild how deceiving elevation changes are. I recently went to Cota in Austin and that hill into turn 1 is so steep. It's tough to walk it.
Some renditions make me wonder if the developers ever seen a picture of Eau rouge. F1 2000 was especially bad.
Come on, it was 2001. I was just happy to play with my friends
I have to think /gp3/gp4 did a much better job in this era. @@modimoonalerona143
I love how they squeezed the PS1 hardware in some of the later releases to minimise the pop in. Now we just throw power at it.
Yeah, the difference between the PSOne games was amazing. If they didn't say the platform at the top of the screen then I'd assume we'd j jumped to the PS2.
Interesting f1 99 did not have the updated Eau Rouge without the wall on the inside. Guess not having up to date tracks is a long standing tradition😅
2:52 This reminds me more of the Ascari at Monza than Eau Rouge
Yeah this version really is way off.
So in essence we are buying same game for last 10 - 12 years. with updated drivers and car liverys.
Sports games in nutshell
Lmao the engine sounds from the late 90s games are better than the 2024 game
Anything sounds better than the hybrid V6 vacuum cleaners
Even if the v6 hybrids don't sound good, I gotta say in the replays for example 24 really nailed the sound to a point where it sounds like you're watching F1 on TV
Like at least it sounds like the actual car now
Lol the heat haze from the exhaust around 2015/16 is so silly.
The width of the car went crazy between 2016 and 2017
Same with 21-24
The new ones are better, of course, but somehow F1 2010 still keeps amazing 🤩
Pity you only show ps games. If you look at N64 world grand prix back in 1998 it will show you the true nature of the depth and steepness of these combo of corners..
I grew up on the F1 games from Studio Liverpool. They are all special to me. But for some reason Formula One 2001, 03 and Championship Edition always bring back the most nostalgia for me. My face lights up with those titles.
Those are the only F1 games i still own for PS2 and PS3
I know it wasn't official, but was a shame to not include Grand Prix 4 on PC.
My most favourite F1 game ever made. Even with mods today it still holds up!
Why do you say it wasn't official? I think it was. At least it says so on the cover.
Yeah GP4 was an official F1A sponsored game. If there would ever be a GP5🤞🏻it probably wouldn't.
Please... Press that damn DRS button. 🤣🤣
3:36 2001 F1 (PS2) Speedo says 262, eyes say 62
Grand Prix Challenge is a fantastic game. I’d never heard of it before I started playing it last year. It’s one of my favourite F1 games now.
I also hadn't heard of it before I looked into F1 games for this video series. But I do know the developer that made it, Melbourne House. They also made the PS2 version of Le Mans 24 Hours, which was one of my favorite PS2 racing games as a kid.
@habibputra_dany_bendy I already made an F1 pit stop video. You can find it here: ruclips.net/video/PV0vLr2MnpU/видео.html
F1 racing championship for PS2 looks way ahead of its time. Took until 2010 for anything remotely similar to come out
Its look like that from 2016 and forward there were not so much advancement
But up to 2016 its just astonishing
Formula one 05 for car sound
F1 2010 for graphics
F1 2024 for scenery
Some of them don't even look like eau Rouge
None of them, the curve is called "Raidillon" not eau Rouge.
It always shocks me how superior F1 99 looks compared to other PSX F1 games. It's almost like a generation jump. Studio 33 did a stellar work with HIRES.
Today I learned the PC version of Formula 1 (1996) has censored Foster's billboards. On the PS1 they're uncensored (and there's also an uncensored Marlboro one in Monaco).
really enjoying these F1 game evolution videos!
WOW, ONE THE BEST EVER F1 EVOLUTION COMPERATION VIDEO. Thanks from Serbia 💪👋🇷🇸🏎
Amazing to see the transformation of detail since I bought the first one back in 96 with the legend Murray walker do commentary
I love that F1 game from 1995 for PS1. Everybody used to play as Jean Alesi.
Excellent!!! Really enjoyed this….good effort and thank you 😊
Who noticed the engines sound evolution ? I miss the old ones.
Why didn't you include the best F1 game in history. Grand Prix 3 and Grand Prix 4.
I don't have those.
Nice job, really dedicated to bring a complete overview.
why is bro not touching the last kerb 😭
Crazy how far we've come in terms of graphics. My first f1 game was F1 2001 on the ps2. It included the season review of 2000
wow the LOD did a world of good for the F1 99 look and feel!
it seemed the first three games had worse and worse popping, and the 99 comes in with better sound, better models and an LOD that is practically invisible on CRTs, good hecking job to the team with that one, astonishing!

An enjoyable video to watch. I was looking for F1 Championship Edition (PS3) that replicates the 2006 season.
The 2006 season didn't have a race at Spa, so the track is not included in that game. You can see that game in my Pit Stop and Interlagos videos though.

2011 was a graphic revolution for almost every game that came out that year.
How tf did the game designers in like 2001 and 02 for f12001/2 turn each rouge and radillon into rallying😂 shits goofy
Even though the newer F1 games are more advanced with better graphics, realism and better animations. I'd still rather go back to the older F1 games to hear the sound of the V10 and V12 engines.
How many F1 Games do you hace?
year 2000: Yes!
The switch between ps1 and ps2 was HUGE! And 2010 games are nearly perfect...
Grand prix challenge is much better than others in same era
I used to have that 1996 F1 PS 1 game. Good memories. 😂
Played majority of these. But Grand Prix 4 Was the game so ahead of its time on PC
F1 2001 on PS1. Very very impressive. Shows mow much the devs had learned to get more out of the hardware.
seems like gp challenge was first one to getting it pretty close to irl
Would be great to see the first clip replayed at the end to highlight the evolution in direct contrast.
Formula One 2001 on PS2 was an amazing game
Sense of speed on Formula One 2001 (PS1) was great.
A major change in the experience is the sound difference when the engines changed.
I always felt the gap in visuals between F1 2010 on PC and 2024 is marginal. For 14 years it isn't some mind bending improvement. Diminishing returns. Especially when you look at the same time period F1 of 1996 and then F1 2010!
The evolution from the first to the last of the ps1 ones is impressive taking into account it is the same hardware.
I've never even really played these games and I thought the same thing. If we look hard enough we can spot some improvements, but the average person wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 2010 and now. Disappointing.
Real Racing phone game is beyond this

El F1 Challenge 1999-2001 hace rato no lo veía...
The cars sounded so amazing in 90s
It just took 14 years to get one simple corner into shape. I never realized how bad it was back then.
It’s actually Raidilllon, Eau Rogue is the small turn to the left at the bottom of the hill and Raidillon is the turn to the right as it’s going up the hill.
Yep. Most people don't know that though and colloquially people often refer to the whole section as Eau Rouge.
I always thought that the Raidillon was the long straight that came after the corners 😂
Thank you Tommy
@@Ryosucc25That's the Camel straight. Literally having the word STRAIGHT in it's name. 👀
The porpoising on F1 2001! Like the Merc in 2022.
2012 and 2015 best graphic for me
U missed 2006 Championship Edition for PS3, but still nice vid.
You are wrong. I didn't miss it. This video is about a specific track, so I am only showing games that have this track.
Spa never hosting f1 in 2006 until next year
We have come a long way
V8 sound amazing. So missed
I haven't watched F1 properly since they switched to V6s. Recently watching I couldn't understand what's different. The creaming of v 10-8s 😃
Damn great memories.
New sub
Blimey, on those PS1 games it was barely even a corner lol. It was more like a slight kink on a straight!
That's Raidillon actually
Yep. It's more commonly referred to as Eau Rouge though.
Finally a man of culture!
F1 05 and 06 was Legend on PS2.
F1 Racing 2000 has a pretty accurate sound of the V10 engine
The visual is getting better but the sound of the engines is just not there anymore. 😢

Yeah, ok but only Atari’s Enduro made me feel very happy and hypnotized while playing.
You can just repost the video with a title "Evolution of Ferrari in F1 Racing Games" and have two identical videos for banter
To be honest, I see the environment has changed a lot. The better graphical performance between the years is visible. Considering the car itself I do not realize the evolution. The car moves from the first to the last version very similar, very staticly. Not really like a car moves while driving.
1:45 this is not Spa, this is Sparta 😃
You forgot championship edition on the ps3, which personally is my favourite.
You are wrong. I didn't forget it.
The car improves at a more drastic rate compared to the environment, considering that you should be using the in car view anyway, the focus on visuals should be flipped.
Isn't there anyone who knows that this corner is actually called "raidillon"? Eau Rouge is the river that goes next to the corner.
Of course there are people who know that.
Seems like elevation is different year after year
F1 2001 (PS1) one love!
Until 4:35 it was worst every time, 😂
You were playing on low settings on your PC? I'm sure F1 looks better than the titles shown from 2020.
No, I didn't play any game on low settings. I guess PC games can also look different based on your hardware though. Maybe you have a newer graphics card that supports some additional effects.
The biggest problem here is the ps. No GP4, no F1C 99-02. Two best game os taht time. And its pain to see driving with controller-
9:57 is not realistic, Sainz should have s🅱️inned at there as Ferrari has no proper downforce to flat out that Eau Rouge curve.
after 2010 there is no progress at all. The picture is more soapy, but the trees are the same. turn on 2010 after 2024 f1 and look again where the graphics are better)
Are these all upscaled? I don't remember PS1/PS2 graphics looking that good.
Yes, the PS1, PS2 and PSP games are played on emulator.
Eau rouge and the radillion are the two corners so Eau rouge is always taken flat out
2010 IS WHERE IT ALL WENT FOR BETTER!
2011 is whole new level (

The irony of this entire video is that eau rouge in an F1 car is not really an exciting turn since you can take it flat out. It’s much more fun in GT3 trying to find the right speed and grip
F1 22 for pc went backwards a couple of years by the looks of it
Thank God for crammonds gp series. So I didn't have to see the terrible tracks of the early F1 series first hand.
I wonder how many people don’t know Eau rouge is not that corner! It’s two
Apparently PC's are colorblind, ever since the first pc clip, everything was damn near black and white.
