Ride bikes. Give back. Pay it forward!
Vinyl electrical tape beneath zip ties works well.
If I have to use zip ties for mounting (luckily I don’t deal with anymore) I prefer self-fusing silicone tape underneath, but electrical tape is ok too 🤙 thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Just bought one of these!! Thanks for your video. I like using a Garmin edge for road biking/overnighters but like you I prefer the etrex for long distance bikepacking. This is a game changer, I don't need two different mounts on my bike now 🤙🤙
Right on!
Awesome! Thanks, Dirty Teeth MTB. I have been looking for this very thing. Ordered one right away.
Glad I could help out... hope it works well for ya :) It has for me....
I have literally been looking for this adapter. Thanks for sharing and reviewing!
Glad to help - ride on, Josh :)
Many years ago I used a Garmin 60cxs, which I still own, and they had a RAM mount for it. RAM does make mounts for the eTrex as well, but they are big, heavy and bulky.
Yeah, IMO those RAM mounts are overkill for mtb... quarter turn is where it's at!
I went through same struggles. I like solid screw tightening mounting . I like it in front of me on my aero bars so I ended with little clanky one but solid mount. Quarter turn adapter may be good idea as they have it in aluminum too. Thank you for excellent tips as always.
Thanks for watching Marcin... I agree, with all the alloy quarter-turn options from k-edge and others, there's lots of versatility... ride on!
I use the 3D printed quarter turn Garmin mount for my etrex and will never go back! Highly recommend it. I still use a short tether with a carabiner just in case.
Kenneth - I agree 100% :)
Thanks for the post! Haven’t had an issue with the clunky standard mount, but the top cap mount looks promising. Cheers!
Thanks for watching and commenting, David - ride on!
Congrats on the 10K subscribers! Before I joined you just were at 9.9K, afterwards 10K, so I hope I helped here a bit, haha... ;)
haha, you 100% helped, Donnie!! Ride on :)
Awesome Jaco…gonna get this…thanks for the heads up
I still love my e trex
Which bar mount do you think works with Jones bars on Mary Jane
Thanks for watching loco - ride on!
Not a product that I need but as always yours reviews are engaging.
Thanks Bill - much appreciated :)
I'm going with a RAM mount. Don't know what I'm in for yet as one is on order. Yup and no zip ties for me either!
thanks for commenting, best of luck :)
Really love this Garmin, but yeah, so sad that it's only custom-made adapters are now available, and ones from Garmin are so bad...
Totally agree- thanks for watching :)
Between the two, would you say one is more solid than the other in holding the GPS? I have a GPSMap 64, so it's a pretty hefty unit - I tried an plastic Amazon spine-to-Edge mount and got a lot of vibration, even on paved roads. Wondering if this style is any better.
IMO the one with the built in 1/4 turn mount is more robust than the stem cap version- ride on!
@@DirtyTeethMTB Thanks. Placed an order for both, thanks! I was worried the instability was in the K-Edge mount. Will try it with the printed adapter.
@@glowbugVT best of luck!
After 3 months my mount is still not able to fully "click" all the way to top of the Etrex, It makes it about half way becasue its so tight!
Bummer to hear that! I’ve never had any issues - thanks for sharing 👍 hope they sort it out for you :)
Yes this is exactly what I need
Thanks for watching - ride on!
Are these adapters not being made anymore? Out of stock on his websiter
I’m not sure - doesn’t sound promising, but I’d hit him up on his contact form… Super nice guy!
Hi, not seeing a link to buy one of these?
There are a couple links in the description - Ben's Mounts: www.shapeways.com/shops/rad-trail

I use an etrex it’s the best. what was Garmin thinking of :) I got one from Amazon
haha, I agree 100% - ride on!
jak etrex sprawdza się do nawigacji w rowerze?
Ride on!
Have u got a mount for a Spot 3 tracker
No, I don't Bryan - wish someone made one though :) I used to use a revelate spocket on top of my viscacha... but now I usually use velcro and zip ties... ride on!
@@DirtyTeethMTB can you show me how you mount yours I have the sprocket bag too but it is a pain with my Tailfin bag
@@bryanoliver1900 I don't have "one" way of mounting it... different all the time... sometimes it's on the top tube of my bike, sometimes it's on the shoulder strap of my hydration vest... all depends... sorry I don't have a more definitive answer... but looping velcro through the thin openings on the spot lends itself to creative solutions :) let me know what you figure out!
Looks like a great item but at nearly £16 shipment to the UK it ain't gonna happen unfortunately
ah man, that's a bummer... he needs a UK distributor!!
@@DirtyTeethMTB Definitely buy one if he did!
brilliant, thanks for the heads up just ordered one
Thanks for watching, Mark :) Ride on!
Looks like a great product, but the overseas shipping rates are ludicrous!
bummer - maybe if you email Ben, he can figure out a way bypass the automated shipping and give a more appropriate rate? sorry!!
@@DirtyTeethMTB no need to apologise at all :)
Thanks Alan
Had no ideal they were available
Ordering now …. Hopefully you get some kick back … commission 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Welp…. You did well as they are sold out now 😳😳😳
Ken, I wish I got commission! I just dig the product :) Bummed they're sold out - hope ya get your hands on one soon :)
They were shown to be sold out on of the links you provided , but the other link showed they were available for order
Thanks again , I did order and I agree , the design appears to be well thought-out
Cheers thanks for this very helpful. Ordering one now
Ride on!
But yeah, that original Garmin mount is junk.
yep
