wasp sting my ass.. these things will make you puke.. similar to a portuguese man o war...vomiting, muscle spasms, difficulty breathing, pretty much you feel like your gonna die.. and if it stung one of those kiddos they probably would have died.

the reason almost all caterpillars come down from trees is that they're looking for a place to pupate so they can begin changing into their adult form as a moth or a butterfly.

I live in Florida and I haven't seen any of these recently but a few years ago there were some living in a bush outside my second cousins front door. She quickly googled to see if they were harmful or if we could pet them because you know me being the animal lover that i am wanted that thing as a pet! We never got hurt by them and after a year they went away.
I remember finding one of these things when I was like ten. I picked it up and pet it and everything. Thank goodness it didn't sting me. I didn't even know

My dad told me that he saved two caterpillars from the three branch few weeks ago (idk what specie, but they were quite big). It was snowing and pretty cold outside. There was also some birds in that three so he took them (caterpillars) somewhere safe and warm. To place called outdoor sauna. Now they have entered a form of hibernation.
I've actually found one of these when I was young. My friend and I were petting it. Strangely, we didn't get hurt.

I just got sent to the er last night from one of these and was there until 3 am. I live in north east Texas and have never seen one before. The worst pain that i have ever experienced it felt like i had broken a bone. WATCH OUT AND STAY AWAY!!!!! Worst pain you will ever experience and has left a terrible mark. I had severe abdominal pain and nerve damage. SPREAD THE WORD!!!!

The only reason im here is because I just found a weird looking caterpillar on my bed. I didnt notice it until my cat meowed loudly and when I looked over there was a yellowish-white furry thing crawling around my pillow.
I've gotten stung by one in two different places on my calf area, & all the muscles in my leg tightened up and I was sweating like crazy lol. By far the worst pain EVER!

I have an infestation of these in my backyard, I tried spraying to kill them, which works, but they can still sting you when they are dead. My 2 year old stepped on one of the dried out bodies and he was in pain for hours.

I immediately felt a very slight sting on my forearm so I set down the cushion.. But the sting got increasingly painful so I went inside. And then my fore arm got a big red area on it the size of a banana, and it even started spreading up my arm. I didn't get any of the horrible side effects mentioned on Google, but my whole arm hurt really bad and my armpit felt sore. Then it calmed down and it was fine other than a mark on my arm, but like a week later it became bumpy and itchy all the sudden. But that's it

One day in my school... This caterpillar got on my legs... And then when I got home my leg was like very red and was very itchy
Once my brother was playng with my neighbor in our backyard, and they were trying to get lemons from our tree for my mom.
And my brother(he was 10 also my neighbor) said that they could not reach for the lemons so my mom went to help them. Then my mom yelled at my brother that he had a harry caterpillar in his pants, then he started to scream and run. My neighbor went home and my brother took off his pants and shirt (not the underwear) and my mom stared checking she searched on her phone and realized that it is very deadly...
My sister was about 10 years old when she touched something like this, she only had 3 fingers on it, when she started crying and moving everywhere bc of the pain, she felt like she was going to die or something, and oh my her face was so red & the fingers Goshh, my family did almost everything to calm her down with home made medecine, after a while she still had pain like hell, but could bare with it (awful experience)

You can use vinegar on stung area. Don't try to scratch the infected area as it will spread to other parts of your body. This is common in our country.

omg i am super scared this thing on my blinds looks like it but it might actually be a dust ball it will not move but what scares me even more is in it stays in trees high places right and where the caterpillar (or dust ball is is high so i am reay to call 911 if my dad touches it and has to have a doctor to save his life
