    As a fellow LSW-fan for many years, I was also cheering for her during this match :) Great analysis, Brian, I think the changes in her ball directions and finding wide angles also helped a lot, compensated nicely for her loss in speed. The short game is massively important as the young generation definitely has an edge in service receive with the backhand flicks.

    Great video! Came here from the Pechpong crossover, not disappointed.

    Great comparison of the "old" style vs the "new" style. Keep up the good work, PP!
    And shame on WTT. They should focus on improving their deplorable camera angle rather than coming after someone who's adding value by analyzing games.

      I stand corrected. After my last video being put on hold, they removed the copyright claim. Pleasantly surprised

      That's good. I understand they don't want rip offs for commercial reasons but educational videos should be good for fair use.
      In discussions tell them you only use it to educate people and grow the game, not making money

    The "new" backhand style of LSW reminds me a bit on the short pimple style that Mima Ito has. Wonder that this style works so good with inverted rubber.

    Thank you very much, I could not get why my coach said to hit the ball instead of brushing it! Why do Fan Z. or Ma Long still use the high upward loop stroke?

    • @PandaPong
      @PandaPong  2 года назад

      ML and FZD both drop their paddle for additional spin, but their stroke is primarily forward. They also drive the ball but use a bigger swing because they can generate more power

    While agreeing mostly I miss one important area, footwork. She has a much better condition, you can see if you just spot how strong legs she has. Most probably she made huge efforts on doing training. Chen Meng has also strong legs but interestingly Sunny Liu could maintain her flexibility that is a problem for CM.

    Liu has more strong muscles. Liu dancing queen now hits the ball more forwards as i agree with the presenter.

    Did LSW also change her blade or rubber in addition to incorporating the new style?
