Very interesting story. I was never familiar with this fairy tale as a kid but I'm glad I am now. I wanted to research this story because of Studio Ghilbi's plans to make a movie adaption. It would be both an honor for the well respected studio to have this story. Disney wouldn't waste time getting this film to the US. And there would be twists in the movie, Ponyo is an adaption to The Little Mermaid. So let's see what happens next year.

Long wait but I'm sure they will make it real good, and it would let the US catch up with the films like "From up on Poppy Hill" and "Only Yesterday". I had thoughts like what if "Bamboo Cutter" was based in modern time, like Ponyo. Ghibil's version should have a world release rather than waiting a year for the movie to be dubbed, it would probitly come out in 2014 for us in the USA.
